Great Service! Massage and skin services are great and the spa is so relaxing!

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, I really did. A few months ago, I had a haircut appointment with Kelsey, who has cut my hair before and does a great job. 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin I was still sitting in the lobby waiting. I went to the desk and rescheduled, telling them that I needed to get on with my day. I hoped that would be a isolated experience. Yesterday I had an appointment, again, to get my haircut with Kelsey. 35 minutes after my appointment is set to start, Christina comes and asks for«Stephanie». I respond saying, «yes, that’s me, but my appointment was with Kelsey?» I’ll spare you all of the details, but the manager got involved and it turned out that there was another Stephanie with an appointment at the same time as me, so Kelsey ended up cutting her hair instead of mine. The manager apologized, but it wasn’t enough. I coupon, discount or some other reciprocity would’ve gone a long way in this situation. Horrible customer service!!! I’d love to continue to see Kelsey, but I’ll never return to Kenneth’s!!!

Don’t waste your money! I went in for a color and the stylist had absolutely no knowledge of the process or that the color would be completely wrong for me. She had to get another stylist for help and ended up getting the dark color all over my skin and face. The color washed out within 3 days. I called and went in to get it fixed only to have it wash out again. This place is completely overpriced for what you get. The also sold me $ 50 worth of product that I «had» to have to keep my color fresh. I was desperate for anything to help my hair at that point. The product completely dried out my scalp and did nothing for my hair. Flash forward a week and I’m walking around with completely faded hair color. Please head my warning and stay away!

Tracy is AMAZING! And a breath of fresh air. It’s so nice to actually get a consultation on my nails. From how long, to what shape, and even help on what nail color to pick that will go with my skin tone. I get so many complements on my nails everyday. She makes acrylic nails look real! Most can hardly believe they are fake. 100% worth the price! Love love love her! Trust me, you need Tracy in your life. :)

I love this location simply because I love, LOVE massages! Laurie is fantastic! During my relaxation massages, she listens to what my currently problem areas are, focuses on those while leaving plenty of time for the rest of my body to become relaxed. As being a bigger lady, I had become self conscious, and didn’t want to make someone rub my squish, but not once did Laurie make me feel awkward. And the spa… prior to your massage, you can relax in a eucaluptus steam, then sit in the relaxation room. Massages are definitely a luxury, but Kenneth’s offer discounts if you get follow up massages in a certain amount of time and if you refer someone. I recommend Laurie, just don’t take my appointment slot ;-)

Usually I either give 5 stars or 1 star reviews. This experience had it’s great points and bad points so I ranked it in the middle. As a Mother’s day gift two years ago, my husband gave me a spa package that included a shampoo, haircut and style plus a facial, a relaxation massage, a mani pedi and lunch. 5 star: *They let me separate the services and I got the hair services on a different day than everything else. *Lunch was a full meal from Panera. *It felt great to be so pampered and they were great about scheduling me and treating me well. They seemed to know what they were doing in running a spa and keeping me on schedule. *My nail tech who did the mani pedi was awesome. She was super friendly and professional and did a great job. Her name was Stella. 1 star: *My spa robe was frayed at the collar and cuffs. Not exactly setting the tone for a «high end» spa experience :( *My hairstylist didn’t act like she knew diddly about hair in general. I asked her some basic questions about products and my hair’s texture etc. she just looked at me like I was stupid for wanting to know. She also acted like she was bored/too good to work on me. I don’t know what her deal was but I practically had to force any conversation out of her. *My hairstylist and the front desk staff(not the spa desk) were very pushy about the Kenneth’s products. *The hair chairs are set up weird so that you have to face the other client next to you part of the time. It was awkward. I also felt like my stylist would rather talk to the other stylist than me. The shampoo area is just as bad. All the chairs are in a row next to each other. You bump elbows with other clients. *The esthetician was mean. I know that makes me sound like a spoiled 10 year old brat, but she was! She was rude to me and accused me of eating too much dairy, not getting enough sleep and other«skin sins». She was very rough and she pinched the sh! out of my face! I know she had to do extractions and I know they hurt but she was so rough and grouchy about it. She could’ve been much more gentle. Also, she didn’t want me to leave there without a bag full of Kenneth’s products and another appointment with her. *The massage therapist was very pushy about me making another appointment. I also told her I was having some serious foot pain(which turned out to be plantar fasciitis) and she told me no I didn’t. lol, okaaayy… She also talked the entire time so it was really hard for me to relax. Not just that but all the talking was her complaining about the salon! To be 100% fair, this was 2 years ago and my main complaints were with the 3 staff member who may not even be there anymore.

Awful experience!!! It’s hard for me to make appointments bc I work retail and have very limited free time but I had been going to Kenneth’s for 5+ years bc I liked the environment and felt they did a decent job. I went one morning to a «master stylist» to have some highlights put in. I knew that seeing a master stylist would cost more but when I got to the register I was shocked by the price and asked for a break down they informed me that I wasn’t charged for a haircut a year before and that was added in to the price. I was infuriated that they were charging me for something that they did not inform me of and the fact that I wasn’t charged for it wasn’t really my fault(I never received a letter, phone call, or email about it) so I complained to Erica the salon manager and they informed me the stylist just wouldn’t receive commission on the cut she gave me. I was even more irate by this response as I work based off commission and if I do something incorrectly I have to take responsibility. So I left and received a phone call that they accidentally charged me for the hair cut and they would refund it but it would take 3 – 5 business days to be refunded they recharged my card for all of the services tying up 600 dollars of my money during Labor Day week. I called Tonya at the main office and complained about the service I received and she refunded me for all of my services and asked me not to return to Kenneth’s! With a hair salon on every corner, NOPROBLEM! Over priced for the services they provide anyways, and terrible service!

I love this place, particularly the spa services and nail service, have not been here for hair so cannot comment on that. The spa area is fabulous, a perfect place to unwind and relax. They of course do try to sell their products while you are there, but I have never felt they were too pushy and I actually very much like a few of their products. It is a little pricey to frequent regularly but on occasion it is nice to splurge, and gift certificates from Kenneth’s never disappoint.

I’ve recently relocated to the area and I have been to two different salons since my arrival. I have yet to find anyone competent enough to do my hair. Kenneth’s came recommended so I called this morning to make an appointment. The receptionist was completely and utterly rude and down right obnoxious. She cut me off when I was trying to explain what my goals were, she had absolutely no knowledge of her staff when I asked her to tell me about the stylist she was trying to set me up with, she told me they had been there since 2001 and that was all she could tell me. If that is how they treat their new clients over the phone, I have no desire to keep my appointment and give them my business.

I was less-than-impressed with this salon. I’ve been a Charles Penzone client for years but unfortunately my stylist was unavailable when I got an unexpected day off. I saw Christine and was disappointed with the constant upgrades that were pushed at me when I made it clear I was on a budget. The conversation was awkward and forced which I had never experienced having visited multiple salons over the years. I felt like I was just another appointment on a book instead of an important first time client. I will not be visiting this salon again. For the level of customer service from my stylist and the cost of the service itself, I will be returning to Charles Penzone salons from now on.

I am visiting this area for the summer, so my family gave me give certificates(purchased online) as Mother’s Day gifts. I did not have the paper printouts with me, but the phone receptionist was able to locate them in their computer system with absolutely no problem. I later found out that these are the people who can access gift cert information and they note this on your appointment. I made a wrong turn on my way there, called from my car and received direction, which were delivered in a very kind way that didn’t make me feel stupid. Reception, whether on the phone or in the salon, is a truly well-oiled machine! Really enhanced my experience. The nail services there were top notch, and delivered by great technicians who were also lovely people. It is a higher-end salon, but it is in no way pretentious or «snooty.» I was very pleasantly surprised. I have family members who swear by Kenneth’s hair services, so I have to definitely recommend Kenneth’s in all these ways.

I went to the Kenneth’s Salon in New Albany, Ohio today. I wanted a new look with my color and a cut. I left after ten minutes in the chair, very upset with this location. The level 2 stylist(Lydia) couldn’t figure out how to color my hair. I wanted all over color & highlight’s lights/low lights, but my hair is very dark. I also, wanted to get a trim or shape up my current style. This level two stylist had to get another stylist to discuss how to color my dark hair. I thought that was what the leveling is about; it’s based on their expertise and skills to color/style. Then the two of them talked about my hair negatively in front of me. She never showed me color chart or offer another directions to go with coloring. She did offer to trim and deep condition my hair after I started to leave. The salon manager did call me after I left to offer another stylist, no thank you Kenneth’s. Go there if you want to have to deal with a manager after your bad services with no results and feel bad about your hair. Be prepared, they will talk about you to your face!

I’ve been going to the New Albany Kenneth’s for nearly five years, seeing Meghan M. as my stylist. I love the convenience of the location and the fact that I’m never left waiting. Everyone I’ve encountered in the salon is always professional. I have very thick hair and Meghan has mastered getting my hair straight and healthy. I think I’d cry if she left. It’s very uncommon to find a stylist who can handle all types of hair and Meghan does that very well. Overall, if you’re thinking about trying Kenneth’s out, I’d definitely recommend that you give them a call and ask for Meghan for hair styles and Nyla at the spa for skincare and waxing.

I don’t get my hair cut often, but when I do I will only go to Madysen at Kenneth’s. She is fantastic. I also love getting pedicures there, as the atmosphere is calming and the work is always professional.

«I trust you». It’s like gold pouring from mine own lips. Never did I think that I would utter those words to the man or woman who cut and colored my hair. And now here I am saying those three little words(over and over again). Fretted, I have not. Not for the past six years. Not since I put my, then golden, locks into the hands of the stylists at Kenneth’s. The men and women of Kenneth’s are always so easy to work with. I never make my appointment more than three days in advance and they’ve never been anything less than accommodating. They explain things, procedures and products. I never feel like I’m being held hostage by a sales(wo)man with a blow-dryer and a pair of scissors when they explain the benefits of a product to me. When I decided to color my hair for the first time, my very knowledgeable, very awesome, very patient hairdresser/color guru showed me samples, explained what each color would look like on me and was forthright with her opinion. I may only go to Kenneth’s one day every six weeks, but when I do, I am among friends. We chat, we gossip and there is most definitely hair being done.

I absolutely love this salon. It’s odd to me to find only two reviews, and bad ones at that. I am in desperate need of a haircut and color but unfortunately I pick a time when my regular hairdresser, Ashlie, is on vacation. I’m not sure I can wait two weeks until she gets back so I might need to see someone else, but I’ve never encountered anything but professional people in the salon or the day spa. ***ETA: I took my own advice and went in for a badly needed cut and color. Since my regular stylist Ashlie wasn’t in, I was in the hands of Laura who did a really great job for me. She looked at the pictures I’d brought in and told me how it would best be adapted for my face and hair type. The color she mixed was beautiful and when I left I felt like a new person. I had an eyebrow wax with Leah(who is so pretty she makes you feel like a toad but is really sweet) and she took care of my out of control brows in no time. A good experience.

This is a unique review. I’ve never had my hair done here, but I’m not happy with this business. My wife used to go here to get her hair done. The last time was with the gift card I purchased for her birthday earlier this year. Unfortunately, she couldn’t use the gift card until a month or so after her birthday. Why? Their website took my money, but never produced a gift card! A few days prior to my wife’s birthday, I decided to find out where my gift card was. I called the store and they couldn’t help me. Or, should I say, they didn’t want to help me. «The manager’s not in right now. You’ll have to call back later.» Not a good answer! So, I stopped in the store and demanded the manager. «Oh, she’s not here right now», they said. «I don’t care! Where’s my gift card?» «You’ll have to talk to the manager. I can’t help you.» Again, not a good answer! This went on well past my wife’s birthday. When I finally resolved the issue with the manager, I asked her if they could do something to accommodate the fact that I give this to my wife on her birthday. She said, «I’m sorry. We can’t do anything for you.» I said, «So there’s nothing you can do to compensate for the mistake you made in order to keep my business?» «No», she said. That’s the last time I’ll ever do business with Kenneth’s. The same goes for my wife. You know, her hair looks better now that she’s switched salons — and we’re saving money too! Good riddance, Kenneth’s! ASTALAVISTA, BABY!

O.k., When customer service comes to play these people SUCK! I could almost read their expression on their faces…(UGH, I have to cut another person’s hair… UGH…I don’t want to be here… hold on a minute, I have to go get something… UM, WHEREDIDTHEYGO??? STILLSITTINGINMYCHAIR…) My haircut was fine, though it took over an 1 hr. ½ to cut! and I have a bob haircut! :)
