This is probably one of the oldest remaining hobby stores left in Columbus. Tom Thumb may be one of the others. In the 80’s and 90’s I was big into radio controlled car racing(not toy radio controlled cars). This store is probably the first place people into RC racing go. The owner is knoweldgable and supports the hobby/sport.

Grandview Hobbies is a good place for someone who likes putting model kits together. Everything from model airplanes, tanks, warships, luxury ships, spacecrafts, new and classic cars, and even dinosaurs can be found here, ranging from at least $ 10 to over $ 200. Paints, glues and other needed chemicals are available. Magazines for all different model hobbies can be helpful in learning about the hobby or finding out what’s going on in the hobby community. Radio controlled racecars come in kit boxes and are even raced in places like Hilliard and the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Individual spare parts are sold because all the racing wears the cars down fast. Another kind of racecar that is smaller is run on a track that it stays on because of a groove in the track. The man behind the counter was pretty attendant. I was acknowledged when walked in, asking if there was anything I was looking for in specific. Later on, I was checked in with to see if I still was doing alright. I appreciated that I was checked in on, but not so much that it became annoying; I was given my space to look around and ponder.
