I am staying at the Hilton where the Gallerie Bar & Bistro is located. Me and four others in my group decided to have dinner here at about 7:30 pm on Wednesday night. The atmosphere is very nice and upscale. We sat in the bar area. The chairs were very comfortable and had a few tvs. It took nearly 15 minutes for a waitress to come to the table. Another 10 or more minutes to get our drinks. We only had coke. And once we ordered it took a while but acceptable amount of time for the food to arrive. I got the cheeseburger with fries. The burger had an odd sauce on it that I didn’t like on its own but with the burger it was pretty good. The fries were crispy but way over salted. The meal was pretty pricey which would be ok if the food was prepared as high quality as the area looks. Also the wait staff needs to learn how to at least walk to tables and check on customers. I won’t eat here again. My fault for eating at a hotel.

Sorry, this review is a couple weeks old. Located inside of the Hilton downtown on an open mezzanine like floor. Gallerie is near a hotel bar in an open space with room walkways and doors visible for each level. Despite being in a pretty open environment to hotel traffic, it was still a quiet and peaceful dinner. The wife and I started with the pig ear salad and the gruyère gourges. The pig ear salad was rich, tart, and lightly sweet. The slivers of pig ear were porky and a nice texture. The gruyère gourges were okay; just a moist cheese puff. A very tame appetizer. They didn’t seem cheesy enough, but the blackberry ketchup was a new taste that I enjoyed. For dinner I had the Ohio pork loin. The pork was a bit overcooked and the sweet potatoes were a bit under-cooked. The plating was beautiful, but the serving size was small for the price. The service was great.

The menu is nice and the décor is amazing however that didn’t make up for the horrible experience I received at this restaurant. The waiter didn’t seem very knowledgable about the menu and messed up my order twice. I ordered the burger, it was average nothing to ex ordinary. The manager came to apologize and offered a complimentary Deseret I ordered the sweet corn soufflé/cake… It was titled«award winning however I believe otherwise. It was a basic corn meal cake soaked in a vanilla cream sauce. I ended up returning it. I could of have easily just walked across the street to any of the other restaurants down high st. However this was located in the hotel and thus was easier during this cold weather. I would recommend that any visitors of the hotels just cross the street and eat elsewhere you will enjoy it and not pay an arm and leg for convenience and bad service.

Although a tick on the pricy side, the food was REALLY good. I had the garlic cauliflower soup(before you say eww… wait), it was awesome… I was pleasantly surprised. Then I had the mussels. Now, usually I like mussels without too much fanfare. They make theirs in a sauce with banana peppers(fairly spicy ones, so nice kick) and a great sauce. I recommend plucking the mussels from the shells and eating them like a soup it is quite tasty. All in all, a very good meal, just not a cheap date.

We went Friday Oct 23rd. Came as part of 3 couples. Server was friendly but had no idea about the menu and what it took to be a good server. It took 20 mins to get our drinks(he even thought that the drink my wife ordered from their drink menu was a bottle of wine). Then we ordered food. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Others ordered burgers and chicken. After taking so long to get drinks we told him we were in a hurry because we had a show to get to. It took almost 45 mins to come out. Server came over 3 times to let us know he «was taking care of us» and to say it was coming up soon. Food was just OK and not worth the money. Nothing on the menu or the server mentioned it was grits/polenta fries not creamy. Salads were good. Burgers were over cooked and fries cold(it probably sat under a heat lamp for a long time). Also they tack on a 20% service fee for parties of 6. I would not have tipped our server that much for the horrible service we got. On the positive side it is a beautiful space to eat. Overall not good especially for the money. There are too many good restaurants in Columbus to waste our time on this one again.

Started out well, but losing luster fast. I ate here the week after it opened, and have eaten here a couple of dozen times since, as I frequently stay in the hotel. What began as a notable attempt to break out of the«hotel restaurant» malaise has recently been slip-sliding down the slope toward mediocrity. A case in point is how the kitchen is proffering mussels. Originally a great value with three distinctive sauces, the portion size has diminished, there’s only one style of sauce, and the little gratis French fries have disappeared and now you pay for them a la carte. Can you say less for more? But they have a $ 20 hamburger, if that’s your thing. It’s not bad, as long as you’re in for the double sawbuck. I think I’m done. Service has always been a little spotty, and now the food is on the backside of the hill going down.

Attended a wedding reception here last week. It was well run from start to finish! We were one of the first arrivals, quickly valeted our car & made it upstairs. The coordinator quickly took my bouquet and ushered us to the cocktail hour area, where servers were taking drink orders. I had a glass of wine in my hand within 10 minutes of pulling up to the valet stand, which made me a happy camper. We had a nice spread of spiced nuts & olives with the cocktail hour before we were ushered into our room for the evening. The bride & team had picked a great menu — choice of soup or salad, their steak or stuffed chicken, and then, instead of cake, a great selection of pies(apple, grapefruit and salted caramel — mix the grapefruit & caramel pieces together for a little heaven on your tongue!). Plates were quickly removed & glasses refilled. After 4 hours of fun & drink, it was time for bed for us, so a quick trip to valet and our car was back in front of us. A seamless party experience!

Can I review this if I didn’t go in? I mean, I parked out front and Sweetie brought me leftovers, so that’s like carryout, right? Sweetie went to an alumni gathering here, and I was DD. It is inside the Hilton, and since it’s on the edge of Downtown and the Short North traffic was of course crazy on a Saturday night. When I picked her up she surprised me with half of her burger, The Ohio Burger. I’m not sure what made it Ohio-related, but it was an excellent burger: good bun, perfect burger, great bacon, fresh toppings. Everything worked well together. There was also a nice salad with greens and almonds. Her impression of the place: good, but frou-frou. She passed on dessert because it all looked too trendy, no classics, and said that was true of the rest of the menu too. So if you like that kind of stuff, have at it. Of course, they did do a pretty good classic burger too, so…

Atmosphere– it’s an exposed bar and bistro right in the middle of the hotel. Personally, I really like that concept. It was surprisingly quiet in the restaurant with it being so exposed. Service– Excellent A+ Food– Try the bone marrow and rainbow trout! And the bourbon peach crisp. the cayenne pecan praline was a nice touch.

I like Gallerie, but it doesn’t blow me away. The food is solid. Great salads, inventive entrees, well mixed drinks. What really kills it for me is the service. I know that hotels tend to have slower service, but Gallerie seems to really take the cake. When seated with a large party, they don’t seem to staff more than one server for the entire group(in one example, a group of 12). For a small group, the service is inattentive. The happy deals are great, but the bar staff is so slow and so inattentive that I no longer even try to stop by after work. In my opinion, Martini has a better happy hour, better food, and much better service.

I may be judging a bit harshly but I could not get over the«hotel lobby» vibe of the restaurant and bar. The food and service were very good and you can’t beat the location. I love the Hilton hotel it is in. The bar is comfortable and the restaurant is good but I don’t think I would go to either if I wasn’t staying at the hotel.

why was this place empty on a Sunday night… after Ohio State’s winter graduation? …everyone else probably had awful dinner plans elsewhere. the interior of Gallerie is gorgeous. tucked on the second floor of the Hilton on High Street, it’s easy to get to and park near. the bar looked lovely, but we(a party of 6) sat in the dining room. the décor is rustic-chic and classy. definitely not a place for a casual bite. food was incredible. from a fun amuse-bouche from the chef, to starters ranging from bone marrow to light gruyère cheese puffs, to a huge charcuterie platter and expertly crafted salads… everything was delicious and beautifully presented. main courses were great as well– i opted for a lemony cod dish with a light vinaigrette sauce and it was lovely. the resto accommodated a vegan diner in our party as well, and i’m sure they could accommodate gluten-free as well. the bottle of red zin was perfect, too. sadly, we were too stuffed for dessert :( i’d return without hesitation– gallerie’s menu has something to please everyone– from well-executed classic steak frites to more creative seafood dishes, everyone will be full and happy.

Well, Gallerie is «a French restaurant wins award for burgers». So you know how French it is. But at least I love their award-winning Ohio/Buckeye burgers which have blueberry sauce in there making the patty more juicy! I thought blueberry sauce would overrun the entire taste/tone of the burger, however, it turns out that it compliments the burger perfectly! Could be a good choice if you are staying in Hilton Columbus Downtown since it is their in-house restaurant!

The Gallerie Bar and Bistro is on the second floor of the Hilton, and it is really beautiful! I was staying in the Hilton while working in Columbus. I generally hate hotel restaurants, especially when I’m traveling for work and by myself, but this place had lots of quiet little corners to sit and read. I sat in a comfortable booth in the lounge(had to move three 10-lb pillows out of the way) and ordered a couple appetizers and cocktail. The wings were seriously the best wings I’ve ever had! The Gruyère cheese balls were great, too, but I barely had room after eating way too much chicken. I believe there was a full dozen gigantic wings in one order, so it would be great to share with at least one other person. The Honey Lavender Blossom cocktail($ 6 at happy hour!) is one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had!

The food here is very good with some of it being excellent. The service is average which is a shame because the ambiance is a bit awkward. If the servers step it up it could really add to the overall experience of the great food offered. I am not going to say the service was bad but it was just average. I would give the food a strong 4/5, some of it a 4.5÷5. The service a 2÷5−2.5÷5. I recommend coming though for the food!

This review is for the happy hour in the bar area. I came here after work with a group of 8, and we seated ourselves at a long table in the bar area. Several tables around us seemed to have dedicated servers, so we waited about 10 minutes. No servers appeared, so half of our party went to the bar and got some drinks. After waiting another 5 minutes or more for service, two of us finally went to the bar as well, and were intercepted by the gentleman who was supposedly our server. He came to the table to take additional drink and appetizer orders. We were told that all our items were to be placed on one card to open a tab, and could be separated out later(what?) which we were not entirely pleased about. About 20 minutes later, we had a new server who arrived at our table, and was helpful. We never saw the original server back at the table after that. Our drinks were delicious, and half off during happy hour(4−7pm). The two signature cocktails I had, Honey Lavender Blossom and Blueberry Barrel, were both really strong and tasty. From the select appetizers, I had the Gruyère Gourgeres(MUSTGETTHIS) and the poutine, but the poutine was lukewarm. They also have $ 5 well drinks, and half off beer and wine. At the end, we had to write down on the receipt who had what items, and essentially break up the bill ourselves in order to pay. The happy hour prices were great, but I was surprised and disappointed by the sub-par service and mediocre appetizers. I would come back for the drinks.

This review is for the bar only. I came here for a few drinks one night. Drinks were strong, and they seemed to have some interesting cocktail options, though I didn’t try them. Service was good. Our bartender was very friendly. My only complaints are 1) It’s on the second floor and when you come into the hotel there is no sign telling you how to find it. Therefore you have to ask someone, which is annoying. 2) The bartop itself is small. It wasn’t busy when I was there so I guess that doesn’t really matter to me, but I could see it being an issue. There are plenty of tables in the bar area to sit at.

Fall has come to the Gallerie! I come in ever so often to try all the new items they have and today for Halloween desserts were on my mind. They just came out with a new dessert menu and how can I resist. The Candy Apple Bread pudding was both pretty on the eyes and for my sweet tooth. This new dessert is any apple lovers dream dessert! And if your a coffee buff instead of ordering a drink I got the Espresso Créme Brulee. Can’t wait to come again and try the Buckeye and the pumpkin spice macaroons.

The bar area has an unbeatable happy hour(4 – 7 ½ off cocktails and select appetizers). Friendly staff, very chic atmosphere — the hotel is also amazing, if you can afford to stay, do. Anyway, get the high st fizz. GETTHEPOUTINE. It’s phenomenal. Not your average poutine because it has pieces of brisket throughout. Omg. To die for. Also, the ahi tuna tacos are great. I have only gone to the bar area here, which is a good size. Boyfriend and I considered the restaurant for our anniversary, but it’s super pricey and very«bourgeois». Looks really nice, though!

I strongly recommend… FOIEGRASAUTORCHON It looks pretty and taste pretty darn good. Make sure you include a little bit of everything in 1 bite for full blast of awesomeness. We also had their mussels– good but the foie gras au torchon is tastier I also recommend the Duck Duet– it was perfect, the red cabbage marmalade is yummy. Side dishes wise– I don’t recommend the house made frites, the dipping sauce tasted better than the frites.
