CBUS Downtown Circulator Bus

Ain’t nothing better than getting driven around downtown for FREE! This is so great to go for lunch, etc.
The bus starts in the Short North and goes all the way down to German Village with many many stops between. It runs about every ten to fifteen minutes so you just wait for the next one, believe me, they are coming! It’s so convenient!

This new bus service — FREE, might I add — is great for getting around the bests parts of downtown Columbus!
This free ride hoes all the way from Sycamore St. (in German Village) to 3^rd Ave. (in the Short North). I rode it on a Thursday evening to promote the service, «Catch The CBUS». Local businesses were partnering with Unilocal offering freebies, discounts, and food deals for the two hours it ran.
I learned that special «tourism» drivers have been hired to drive these buses, thus a friendly smile always greeted me and where happy to answer any questions about the area. These buses, being NEW, where clean and air condition circulated to cool me off from the humidity outside.
This FREE service will no doubt be great for the summer months — lots of festivals and conventions going on. Plus, it also makes parking for work cheaper (people can now park further away from their work, for a cheaper (or free) price, and take this Circulator to work. The buses come ever 10 min, so you can be on time, wherever you’re going!

ahhhh! Why didn’t I think to review this earlier?
I live at the very north end of the CBUS route (though you’ll usually find me running down High St. to the Price Ave stop as I see the bus making the east turn onto the 3^rd and Say loop. I usually walk during my weekend downtown explorations, but with the weather gone hot this summer, it’s been a pleasure to hop on the CBUS to get to Columbus Commons, the Scioto Mile, the Columbus Arts Festival, the North Market, etc etc. So far all the buses I’ve ridden have been clean and the drivers helpful and polite. The fellow who drove the bus I took to the Arts Festival must have been tired of pointing out the correct stop to each new busload of people, but he was friendly and gave directions to folks who didn’t know where to go.
I’m looking forward to utilizing this service more over the summer, and hoping that the free service continues on through the winter (or at least at a low cost). Now if only COTA would launch a bus service for us second-​shifters…
