The first time my husband and I went we had a good time. Second time was okay, we had a bartender we didn’t particularly partake to. Well, just today, that same bartender shouted at as as we were walking on the sidewalk outside of the bar. We turned around, my husband said «hello» and she pointed and him and said, «I’m not talking to you,» in a very rude tone. So we turned around and started walking away and she shouted as us again. Apparently she wanted to talk to me. We turned around and my husband said «what» and she again said «uh, no, I’m not taking to you,» and was very snide. I’d don’t recognize her so I had no idea who she was. She then announced she was our bartender before. Ok, so how am I supposed to recognize you? She was so rude and was representing her job at The Village Idiot at the time. She continued to be VERY RUDE to my husband so we walked away. She was a white woman with black hair in her late 30s and was a little bigger. Needless to say we won’t be back to this bar again.

Ended up here on a whim, this place is great, all kinds of beers on tap to satisfy even the pickiest beer drinker, a great bottle list too. They even have Bud Light — if you prefer water beer. We had Shelly? as our bartender and she was great, very helpful, very knowledgable, absolutely zero intimidation factor as some of these places can get to be a little «beer nerdy», not this place though. The inside is nice and clean, the crowd was more on the mature side which was nice — with the exception of the Bud Light guy. The best thing about this place is that there is NO SMOKING, I will gladly pay a little extra to drink my beer in a place like this over some of the other offerings in the area (D&B). Im glad there is a place like this around town, I’ll be back for sure.
The only issue with this place, which is no fault of theirs, is that parking can be a little sparse, which can be an issue especially when it’s raining like it was when we were there.

Great beer selection! Only bar snacks like pretzels, etc. offered for food but you can bring your own food and eat it there. Lots of games.
We’ll definitely be back when we are back down in the area!

This place is reminiscent of the brew pubs in Colorado, Arizona, California… West coast. Everyone was having a good time, the bartender was on his game, the selection of beers is awesome, and very reasonable prices. I will be back for sure!

Fart Festival at Village Idiot
Dear Gassy Bar Patron,
Please have consideration for your fellow bar mates and all the unsuspecting mouth breathers who must suffer the stagnant fumes that emanate from your unclean bum hole. I am well aware that a causality exists between beer and farts: this is s universal truth that humankind has endured since the dawn of fermented beverages. However, this simple truth is not a free pass to introduce the world to your internal, perfunctory smells. And using the crowd to mask your identity is a low blow to your social skills, or rather, lack of. Thank you and good day.
On a more positive note, Village Idiot is a a fun, Austin-​esque, slightly hipster joint with a good selection of beer and wine. The ambiance is an odd but interesting combo of cozy-​industrial. The games are a fun, entertaining addition. However, the Jenga game can be quite annoying; especially when it results in shattered glass near flip-​flopped feet. But everyone seems to love it so I’ll get over it! Bartenders are friendly and attentive; absolutely LOVE the smoke-​free environment. Musical entertainment is varied; highly impressed with the fun, energizing, crowd pleasing «Heart Conditioners» who play the whole gamut of musical genres. Would like to hear some original stuff, however. Musicians can’t always be expected to kowtow to the demands of the drunk and disorderly crowd. Bravo on a bar well done!

Great find in downtown Cocoa. Anywhere I can find a good IPA on draft is a good thing, but add in a great atmosphere (don’t let the entrance fool you), live music and obviously people who are beer lovers, this is not only a great beer spot but a new regular spot. As an IPA snob, I always want more (hint hint you cool Village Idiot owners), but this IS the place to go in Cocoa for you fellow beer lovers (snobs). After one visit, I’m even considering becoming a founder (great benefits for a very reasonable price in my opinion). This is a great stop coming back from the beach, for all the local beer lovers and anyone who is looking for great atmosphere, live music and even life size Jenga with their craft brew. I see lots of beertential (newly coined word) here!

I absolutely love this bar! Its good for days when you just want a beer and to read a book and then its great for getting together with a bunch of friends and letting loose. They have a lot going on and coming up. They try and do new things. Like bus trips to Orlando City games or brewery tours. Keep up with them because I think they are going to be one of the best bars in the county soon!

Good selection of beers and also wine. Great place to take friends. Also has live music. Location is central to downtown Cocoa and convenient public parking. All around great experience.

My new favorite!!! I actually became a founder… Must come by for a cold brew. Very friendly staff and great location. Love it!!!

Unlike any other bar in Brevard County! This bar is located in the heart of cocoa village, new, and set up for socializing. Have a drink (recommend the Kentucky Bourbon brew) enjoy a local play covers! If your up to it theres several games like jenga you can play with friends or join others as I did. The bartenders are extremely friendly (Shelly) and are on top of it. They take your order at the bar and randomly come check at the table. Place was real clean and had a great mix of people young and old. The beer selection is amazing and the menu will tell you the history on every one. I’m hooked! Go get sum…

Cool place! It seems like they’re still in the process of completing everything as I know they just recently opened. They definitely need more seating as the place was picking up and seating was limited. The night I was there, they had a live musician which I particularly enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place has a great vibe so I think it’ll just get better with time. Beer and wine only.

Great to see some new life in the village. Jason the owner is very friendly. Still not 100% complete but by next week they should have 35 beers and many wines on tap.
