Enlighten Spa

My husband purchased a spa package for my birthday not knowing the first thing about a spa. He did research and picked a spa on his own for me to go to. Enlighten Spa just happens to be the spa he picked and I am so glad he did!
First off, I can not say enough about how friendly the staff was (which is my main reason for the 5 stars). I was greeted by name as soon as I walked in the door and told happy birthday right away!
Andrea (I hope I’m spelling her name right) did my massage and facial. The massage was absolutely amazing and only the second one I’ve ever had. Andrea did a great job making me feel comfortable and asked several questions before we got started. She even demonstrated the different types of pressure she could use to make sure the massage would not be to intense. The facial was also nice and relaxing.
After my massage and facial I was taken into the mani/​pedi room where I was surprised with birthday balloons. A very sweet touch which I wasn’t expecting. Courtney did my manicure and pedicure. She was also very friendly and easy to talk to. They used wax paraffin on my feet during the pedi which felt so good! I had never had the paraffin on my feet before, just my hands so this was something new for me. She also used a fruity/​orange sugar scrub which was to die for! The scrub smelled amazing and left my legs feeling super smooth. The pedicure chair was also one of the nicer chairs I have been in, it had a great all over massage that wasn’t to hard. My only complaint about the mani/​pedi was the nail color selection. They really didn’t have a lot to choose from. However, I am very happy with the colors I chose.
All and all the spa was very clean and inviting with a very relaxing feel. My favorite room was the waiting/​sitting area in between the massage room I was in and the mani/​pedi room. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the space. I was just blown away with the little things the spa did to make my day special. I will definitely go back and can’t wait to book another massage with Andrea!

For Christmas, my best friend gave me a Groupon for a personalized massage from Enlighten Spa. The spa itsself was clean, with a nice reception area and a massage waiting area called the Tranquility Room. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork and surprisingly there wasn’t any paperwork. My massage was with Andrea. She was very soft spoken and nice. The massage was one of the best I have ever had. She spent half the session on my stupid, sore, shoulders and neck. She used A LOT of pressure, more so than what I am used to, but it was awesome. She made the muscles crack, kneaded them a lot, and generally just relieved weeks of tension. Overall, just a great massage. I will definitely go back to Enlighten for a massage with Andrea. I may have found a new spot!

The best part of the salon is the friendliness of the staff. The manager saw me walking on the street looking for the entrance and called out my name as she could see I was turned around. Very sweet! It is also an excellent location, walking distance from Fountain Square. Unfortunately, the salon is lacking in curb appeal and inside the decór leaves much to be desired. There was a small selection of nail colors and despite the manicurist’s best efforts the finished appearance of manicure and pedicure was quite poor. The salon doesn’t have any nail dryers which lead to the inevitable demise of my manicure shortly after leaving the salon. I did not bother turning around to have it fixed despite have only walked a couple of blocks. In review, the salon needs work. Higher quality products, tools, and interior design would do this salon well.

My friend & I purchased a Groupon for a 30 minute reflexology! Well let me tell you from the time you walk in to the time you leave its an amazing experience! Everyone is so friendly! Very relaxing & we were told about upcoming events! If you have stress in your life go see these lovely ladies

Booked a manicure and pedicure. The manicure peeled off within 24 hours. I returned to have it redone. The technician was with another client but offered no apology. The receptionists repainted my nails and the manicure peeled off again within 24 hours. Monica offered another appointment at her compliments but I decided not to return.

Eek. Let’s just say this was a wax gone way, way wrong. Really sweet girl doing the work but seemed unsure of what she was doing. When I asked a couple questions, she said they were out of the correct type of wax and wasn’t sure if the owner knew what I was coming in for, but never spoke up until I asked what was going on. That was when I knew it was time to leave. Left halfway through and had to go somewhere else to have the wax finished. I think I would rather pay for someone experienced for sure.
I should have read the earlier review. They used soft wax on me with strips and I had the same results. Very painful (more painful than any other place I had been) and very amateur. This is not the place to have an amateur doing your wax!
The owners response was «I’m sorry you had a bad experience. It was not meant to be melicious.» Ummm I was outta there.

Very disappointing waxing service. I asked for a Brazilian wax and the lady (she’s actually very sweet) used a «hard wax» (no cloth strips) and this was the first time someone has used this on me before. The service took an hour and was the most painful waxing I had ever had done. To make matters worse, she left one side almost completely unwaxed (If only I could post a picture…). There was wax and random hairs everywhere. I could have done a better job myself. I do not recommend this place for waxing services. Stick with their massages…

I’m so happy to be able to update my review for Enlighten Spa. The lead masseuse, Kelly, saw that I had an unfortunate experience. She offered me a chance to come back, and I am extremely pleased to say that it was one of the best massages I’ve had in years! Kelly knew exactly where my sore spots were without me even telling her! It was like she was reading my mind. I think I may have even drifted off at some point, I was so relaxed. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Kelly, you’re awesome!

I had the lite manicure on my lunch break — service was quick, convenient and nails look great. My manicurist was friendly and made me feel comfortable, clean space good energy in the environment.

Gave my daughter in-​law a cincysaver certificate for a mani/​pedi combo. She couldn’t find anything good to say about the experience. She said they didn’t message her feet or legs at all. They didn’t remove the dead calloused skin from her feet! These are the bare minimum of a mani — right? I saw her toenail polish — looked like a preschooler did the job. How do places expect to stay in business with experiences like this one?
