WiredTree

After seven years with Hostgator, I moved to WiredTree. Why? Because Hostgator treated me worse than an ex-​wife would treat the husband she’d discovered was sleeping with her mother, sister and daughter. Also because my server technician recommended WiredTree. I had high hopes, and I was blown away. These guys managed the transition process, anticipated problems, solved them, and dealt with the unexpected with grace and patience.
On more than one occasion after my migration, we discovered problems with my files. Malicious code that had burrowed into Wordpress installations and was wreaking havoc. This was stuff that I unknowingly brought with me and the staff stayed on the problem with me day after day for weeks until we finally ran it all down. They were patient and helpful and went above and beyond. I was thrilled. How often do you have high expectations for someone in the tech world and have those expectations surpassed? Their techs even speak and write English well.
I wish I’d found these guys years ago.

UPDATE: as of September 2015, we have moved our sites to zweeko hosting. Wired Tree pretty much abandoned us to DDOS attacks and our sites were down constantly. They did absolutely nothing to shield us from the attacks and blamed us for them. After dealing with issues for several months, we decided to move. They didn’t even refund us the partial month when we left. I am very disappointed with their nosedive into being your typical crappy host. I do not recommend WiredTree.
We just moved about a dozen WP sites to Wired Tree. With the help of their stellar support staff, all our sites were intact and working perfectly — which means we were spared the hours of configuration that we usually have to do.
We are into our first month, so I can’t give you a longterm view yet, but we have been extremely impressed by this company so far. They have a written policy on refunds for downtime as well as a guarantee that any upgrades, etc., will not take more than an hour. They take responsibility for keeping your site (s) UP.
Their pricing is on par with other hosts and their data center is adjacent to their office, which means they can quickly handle any issues that may arise.
