I’m truly at odds about my satisfaction with the results of my experience. Having only recently moved to Chicago, I turned to Unilocal to locate a place I could take my car to. Since I was crunched for time, I was excited to find a service that would come to me so I could multitask.
Five stars for convienience and appointment availability. They came to my job, which is outside the normal service area and I was able to get an appointment the next day, which was a Saturday, at the last minute.
Four stars for the vacuum job. The interior was covered in dog hair, as my two dogs are in the car every day, and the detailer got 95% of the hair out. The car wash itself, for being a «basic wash» (see note below), was very good.
Three stars for paying attention to the small details. The windows were not rolled down to clean up to the edge of the class so when I roll the windows down, there is a clear line of demarkation. The side pockets in the doors were not vacuumed or wiped out so dirt, trash, leaves etc… was left. I also didn’t receive an air freshener.
Two stars because I’m not sure if the seats were actually shampooed. There were no stains that would have shown an improvement so I had to go by smell (see dog hair note above!) and there was a lingering trace of my dogs. Since I like my dogs and they’re in the car every day anyway, it wasn’t a huge deal. However, and this is the reason I finally decided to write this review, I just went to my car and discovered a distinct odor that may or may not be a sour smell. I don’t know what it is causing it and it may very well have nothing to do with the seats being shampooed. I only know my car didn’t smell like this prior to service (4 days ago) and nothing has been left in my car that could be causing it.
One star for «additional» services. I opted for the Platinum Service; when making the appointment I was informed the wash itself was just a basic wash (I learned later what that meant). I was surprised because the price of the Platinum is $ 100. When I asked if the exterior trim could be treated for shine, it was explained that service is not offered. For a $ 100 (+$ 15 since it’s an SUV — a small one at that but apparently still an SUV), plus tip, carrying a bottle of Armour All to wipe down the trim seems like a reasonable part of a car detail, or even «basic wash» to me, especially as tire shine is included.
When the detailer arrived (early, which was great!!), his materials and supplies were able to be transported in a small 4 door car. I asked how the car would be washed and learned the water is contained in a small hand operated pump. I now know what is considered a «basic wash». Granted I was told a basic wash is all that came in the package and I still made the appointment AND the wash itself was very good; it would have been useful to see this as an interior detail, rather than a car detail which is what I expected.
I’ve had on location auto detailing services before so have a point of reference, both for pricing and services. All in all, I think 3 stars is accurate. If it came down to it, I might try them again but most likely I will take it somewhere, pay a lot less money but not be able to multitask as efficiently.

Out of all the Unilocal businesses that I have given my money to, this one by far is the absolute best. I have three kids so dropping off my car is not something I look forward too, no matter how much my car needs a cleaning, so when I read the reviews and that they come to you, I was excited. The woman on the phone was lovely and they fit me in very promptly. A young lady came out bright and early and got to work. When I say my car was filthy, let me mention my kids again, it was embarrassing. She was very thorough, and my car looked and smelled 1000 times better then it has in a millennia. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a great service for a very reasonable price. Awesome, I’m sorry, I am just so happy to have a clean car…

After a few scheduling mishaps, they accommodated my schedule and cleaned my car in the evening (something they don’t do very often).
I was amazed at how clean my car looked! I had some pretty tough stains, and they got them out better than I thought possible! Every nook and cranny looked great after the platinum detailing, and I couldn’t be happier. Would definitely use them again– but probably won’t need to for a while because they did such a great job!

My car was a true mess. I would like to start out by saying excellent job. The lady that came to clean it was a sweetheart. Hard working and knew her stuff! So 5 stars! THANKS UP UP!

Used this place today to clean my incredibly dirty SUV. She arrive at my home to do the job. No lugging around my 3 year old to get my car detailed — sign me up! I got the Platinum service and I’m glad I did! She did excellent work and didn’t rush through. Crumbs and dirt were vacuumed away (did I mention I have a 3 year old?). The seats and carpets were scrubbed and shampooed to perfection. The dusty interior panels were cleaned and now shine. It smells so fresh and so clean, clean. I highly recommend UpUp and wouldn’t hesitate to call them again.

Awesome service! Fast and so friendly! I left my moon roof open in a horrible storm only to find my interior soaked. Up Up came to the rescue with a wet vac and a smile. Easy and convenient — 6 stars if I could! Can’t wait to use them again :)

When I heard about Up Up through friends I was so excited. The first time I used it, I needed to clean my car very badly since I was the driver for my friends and we were going to have a spa day. So I got the Premium they did such a great job, I had really bad salt stains from the winter and they were able to shampoo it out! They also use a deordorizer which was really amazing no more cig smell from the BFFs. Loved them and will use them again and again and again!

My car was a whole mess, dog hair everywhere, and i didn’t have time to clean, so I decided to give it a shot, and try them. I don’t regret a bit, my car looks way better than before. They are very professional! If you are looking for someone to clean your messy car, try them! you won’t regret it.
