Unpatterned LLC is a full service interior design and creative firm founded on the principle that there isn’t a singular approach to design (or life). Our process is customized to each client with the goal of assisting in visualizing the end result. Unpatterned does not adhere to a specific style, rather evaluates each project in order to create a space that inherently reflects the personality of the owner or the message they desire to convey. While Unpatterned is in the business of providing luxury design, we strongly believe great design doesn’t have to be a luxury and are committed to adapting to a variety of budgets. Whether your dream piece of furniture comes from a showroom or a thrift store, our purpose is to translate your needs into a functional space that brings joy to each user. We aspire to create inspiring interiors, exciting events, stunning creations, and the occasional guffaw. Unpatterned offers a variety of interior design, decorating, styling and consulting services.

Carly M.

Business Owner

Carly grew up on the South Side of Chicago. She believes blasting your favorite album is therapy, traveling is the spice of life, and every thrift store holds a treasure waiting to be unearthed. After receiving her Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-​Champaign, Carly went on to a variety of professional experiences in commercial and residential architecture and interiors, marketing & event production and home valuation. Carly is a registered interior designer and licensed architect in Illinois, which has provided more than 12 years experience in the interior design, architecture and construction industries. She founded Unpatterned as a blog in 2011 to combine passions of design, food, fashion and miscellaneous ridiculousness. It quickly transformed into a business dedicated to a variety of creative productions. We’ve been trying to find the pattern to the perfect combination of all of the above, but it seems that life unpatterned is more interesting anyway.
