This company has been extremely difficult to communicate with, cannot manage expectations & does not do what they say they’re going to. In short, here is a history of my experience with this company:
1) They were doing work in my building & I had requested service on ONE window. They said they would come by the following week & «complete the work». 2 weeks later, someone showed up (after I took off of work to be present at the time they committed to arriving, originally). They weren’t there to do any work, simply to provide an estimate.
2) After I received the estimate, we agreed upon a day/​time they would get this work done. That appointment was a no show.
3) I rescheduled, ANOTHER NO SHOW. So i decided to let it rest & basically live with the window not 100%.
4) Recently, the window has had a serious malfunction (which i would have loved to have fixed earlier, per #1−3 above) & I called at 8am to leave a message seeing if anyone could come out & fix the window ASAP. One day later & still nobody has called me back.
This company is a joke & I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This company is one of the worst businesses around. The business has not completed a job that was requested almost two years after being paid. They send incompetent staff multiple times to measure the window and they come back with no results. Trust me stay away from this company. You will regret it.

You would be surprised how hard it is to find window repair in the city of Chicago. Everyone wants to install windows, but not repair them. We called the Great Window Wizard to get a quote on some broken windows in our condo. When they came out, they looked over and assessed our windows thoroughly. A few days later, we had a reasonable quote in hand for work which outlined all of the problems needing to be fixed with our windows. Though it was just a quote, they were responsive, timely, and helpful.

This company is very, very good for «smaller» jobs. This is a one-​man pony operation so if you are seeking to have a «large» job done go with another Company instead. We had several small jobs done at our house by Andy. We have been very satisfied with the work he did at our home. We purchased Great Lakes windows in 1998 from another company in Chicago, IL. The company we purchased our 11 Great Lakes windows went out-​of-​business. However, we had three windows that needed brackets replaced because the windows would stay open (after all, there was wear and tear on these windows since 1998). We like to open our windows during the late Spring and Summer months. The brackets are required in order for the windows to stay open on their own. Andy replaced all the brackets for three windows in our master bedroom and home office. The price was very reasonable. He did an excellent job. The work was completed in under 45 minutes. Of course, it was a simple, small job. In January 2014 Chicago had a horrible winter. The temperatures were bitter cold (below zero for many weeks), and we broke a record for the «most snow» since 1979! We have a bay window in our living room area. The condensation was building up at the bottom of the bay window glass (center panel) and ice began to build up on the bottom of the window. We never had this happen to any of our windows. We weren’t sure why it was happening. Fast-​forward a few days… eventually, the center panel glass on our window cracked from west to east and the gas between the panel escaped. Thus, frost began to form in between the glass panels which really sucked. Fortunately, we have a life-​time warranty on our Great Lakes windows, so we contacted the manufacturer in Toledo, OH and purchased the center window panel directly from Great Lakes (shipped directly to the Great Window Wizard). Andy was very professional and did a fantastic job installing the center panel glass window on our large bay window. We were very, very, very happy with the final results. Andy did an excellent job. A bay window is not easy to work with due to the large size of the center panel window. I am recommending The Great Window Wizard Co. for anyone seeking to have a «small» job done at your home, townhouse or condo. However, I cannot speak to how bad or how good their workmanship is for larger window jobs. For larger window jobs, I highly recommend the American Thermal Window company on North Milwaukee Avenue. Our neighbors used American Thermal for installing casement windows and bay windows (total of 11 windows). A lot of our neighbors have hired American Thermal over the years, and everyone has spoken very, very highly about them (never heard anything negative about American Thermal Window Company).

This company is awesome! I received an email immediately after contacting them, and an appointment was sent soon after. Andy the repairman was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and did a great job. Very happy with services.

I was reccomended this business by a friend. I stopped in and asked to have a job quoted at my house. very nice people. they came by the next day. price quote was $ 800 for a job that I ended up paying $ 115 for. I contacted them to see if maybe there was a mistake on my quote. then never got back to me. i guess they didn’t want my business!
