So the crown fell out today!!! It didn’t even make three years! I’m shocked at the terrible workmanship of this so called dentist. I have (unfortunately) a few other crowns that are more than 10 years old and they have held up beautifully. She should be ashamed of herself. She is a crook!
Also, I agree with others about her demeanor and the tone of her behavior — she is cold and very forceful. I was wondering why she was talking to me in such a way that she did, which is hard to describe — loud and overly confident, but maybe that was just my instincts telling me to not trust her and I didn’t listen. I’m so kicking myself for going to this dentist — PLEASE go elsewhere!

Nice and knowledgeable. Not critical when I told her I don’t floss. Talked to me for a long time about my problems and over explained how to fix them. Felt as relaxed as one can at the dentist. Nice view of the lake.

I have been seeing Dr. Sahgal for about a year now and have been thrilled with my experience. As others have said, I love that she both cleans and examines my teeth so while at prior offices I felt I only had 10 – 15 minutes with my dentist, here I get substantially more time. I like it because as she’s cleaning my teeth she can point out things she notices and it feels like a more thorough exam.
I also find this office to be incredibly relaxing (or as much as it can be for a dentist appointment). I love that her office overlooks the lake and the exam chair has a massage function. I certainly do not like going to the dentist, but it makes it as pleasant as possible.
Aside from the exam experience itself, this office is very easy to deal with. They have good availability so scheduling and rescheduling appointments is not a challenge (provided you give the proper notice to cancel your appointment) and I always find that I am brought in for my appointment in a timely manner.

The location of this downtown dental place is perfect. Right next to the building is Sugar Bliss cupcakes where you can go to right after your dentist visit. Oops. This is just a cavity waiting to happen after you get your teeth cleaned.
All the patient chairs directly face Lake Michigan. And the chairs are actually massage chairs if you actually want to utilize that function and don’t get ticklish from getting massages. I don’t care much about getting massage from chairs anyway.
Dr Sahgal is friendly and always asks if I have any questions at the end of my visit. She actually does the cleaning for you too, unlike other dental clinics where the hygienist cleans your teeth. The receptionist also always gives a reminder call 2 days before your appointment.
As of now, I don’t really have any reason to switch dentist. And again, location location location. Macy’s is right across. So even if you don’t want cupcake therapy after a dentist visit, go for retail therapy.

Hm, maybe the free paraffin treatments have gone by the wayside thanks to the recession, because unlike the other reviewer here, I’ve never been offered one and I’ve been a patient of Dr. Sahgal’s since last fall. That doesn’t make me like this place any less, though…
I very much hate going to the dentist. I’d rather go to any other doctor and have anything else done; something about having my teeth messed with just really bothers me. But Dr. Sahgal does a good (usually quick) job, and seeing a dentist who offers massage chairs and a beautiful view of Lake Michigan certainly helps. I can almost always get an appointment quickly, though my one comment related to this is that they very much stick to their rules about not canceling within x-​amount of hours. I think there’s a fee if you don’t. The last appointment I had, I had to reschedule at the last minute due to something that came up at work. When I called to reschedule, the woman referenced a fee that’s usually charged, but said she wouldn’t charge me that time. Kind of annoying, because a) it’s not like I did it on purpose or just didn’t show up, and b) I don’t do it every time – it was a one-​time issue. Aside from that, all is good here.

i’ve been going to the dr. beaty offices for about a year and a half, where i see dr. sahgal.
i like dr. beaty’s practice because it’s in a convenient location, the offices are nice and the staff are friendly and polite. when i first visited the offices, i was surprised to find out the patient chairs are massage chairs (!,) and they offer everyone a free para-​fin hand wax while you get your work done. all of the patient rooms also look out onto lake michigan, which is nice.
i keep coming back to see dr. sahgal because she does a great job. at my old dentist’s office, a dental hygienist did all the cleaning; i only got to see my dentist at the very end of the appointment for about two minutes. here, dr. sahgal does all of the cleaning and inspecting herself. i like that.
i’ve also had a few cavities filled by dr. sahgal, and i have to say… they were utterly painless. i will continue to recommend dr. beaty’s practice to anyone in need of a dentist.
