Studio B Waxing

Careful, this chic is aloof with her hours of business. Unilocal says she’s open til 5p but when I walked in @1 she said she was done for the day.
If it wasn’t for the other negative reviews I just read, I would have immediately thought racism. Turns out she’s just a flake.

Long story short, she’s as good as it gets and worth the wait. Yeah, it sucks that she’s so booked she’s often not accepting new clients; that would frustrate me to. But, once you get in you’ll realize there’s really nothing else like her out there especially at her competitive pricing. I’m grateful I found her, and effing ticked every time I go somewhere else (because, to be honest her schedule can be tough) and get horrible treatment. I always always come running back!

I just called this studio and the voice mail says she is not accepting any new clients. Lame.

Beth is the best waxer I’ve ever seen. She always does a flawless job with my eyebrows, she’s always cheerful, and her studio is always immaculate. From what I understand, she’s not currently taking on new people because her client list is full. I’m just grateful I got on that list in time. Words of advice: If her client list does have an opening, pounce on it.

I recently moved to the area, and found this studio on my walk home from the train. I walked in looking for information, as I’d been searching for a new wax studio to call home since my favorite wax technician left her salon to pursue a nursing career about a year ago. After a long year of trying different places, I was excited to find a small business to support. I stood in the empty lobby and was soon greeted by a woman I will assume was the owner, based on what came next. I explained the purpose of my visit, and she replied, in all politeness, that she was not currently accepting new customers, but that I should feel free to keep checking the Web site to see if/​when she resumed.
Please. I can certainly understand that your schedule is booked, but to suggest that I’d keep trying, after making absolutely no effort to discern what my needs would be — uhm, no. I’ve found another wax studio. The review is for the attitude underlying the proprietor’s casual dismissal of a potential new client.

Beth is fantastic! I found Studio B through Unilocal and was so impressed after my first appointment. She is so detail-​oriented and made my brows look perfect. I’m so happy with the experience and will be returning in the future. It’s difficult to find someone with the ability to create brow shapes based on personal features. Beth definitely does that and more. I’m so pleased and highly recommend her for your waxing needs.

I recently booked my first appointment with her, a brazilian, right before a trip to the beach. I found Studio B after my previous waxer suddenly started getting sloppy. That’s a lot of pain for to go through for less than stellar results.
Lucky for me, Beth is fabulous! She has the best qualities for a waxer: she’s a perfectionist who makes you feel comfortable. Let’s face it, this is already a pretty awkward situation and the wrong person could make it so much worse.
Other reviews do mention the difficulty of scheduling (and so did I), but if you book 2 – 3 weeks in advance she should be able to fit you in.

Beth is fantastic. This is a really well run studio. I like that it is small and a one person shop. You never get lost in the shuffle. It keeps the place neat and clean which is essential in this particular field. She is easy to book appointments with too for being solo. Just be patient people, you’ll get in! I am a loyal customer now!!!

Beth is fabulous. Reasonably priced, clean, friendly, excellent all around. I recently moved to Chicago and was hesitant to try a new waxing salon, since I had been going to the same person for years. A friend recommended this studio to me, and now I will not go anywhere else.

I absolutely ADORE this place!!! Beth is wonderful, professional, CLEAN, HYGIENIC, FAST and a lot of fun. I feel absolutely comfortable and confident before and after a visit with her. She’s really funny too. Unfortunately, because she’s so effin’ awesome… I can hardly ever get in to see her. (insert whimper) So, I’m a lot furrier than I want to be.
So on that note, be on time, make your appointment PRIOR to going to the salon… no walk in’s y’all. Enjoy your time then get the heck out so I can get in!!! ;-)

Another 5 star review. When my prior waxer decided to go into a different field, I felt lost. I mean who could I trust with my brows and my holiest of holiest of areas? Then, as I was getting my hair cut, by Lou of Roki Boki, she had mentioned that she had an amazing new waxer she went to named Beth. Well, my brows were starting to look like Bert’s of Bert and Ernie and I decided to book an appointment with Beth. She returned my call immediately, informed me of where free parking is, told me what I needed to know and within a few days I was at Studio B.
Beth has an amazing personality and she really did a great job with my brows and bikini area. She made me comfortable, and I wasn’t in any pain when I left. She is very professional, real and knows her business.

Easily 5 Stars… Beth is friendly and did a great job! Clean, quiet spa and very relaxing. Support small businesses in Chicago!

I work at a salon down the street and I have heard raves from clients and coworkers about how amazing Beth is with waxing. I have been doing my own eyebrows for years and I finally gave in and took my unkempt brows to Beth to see if she can work her magic. I have gotten so many compliments since she did them. She also got me to wax my underarms and I must say that it was pretty painless. She pays attention to detail and does not miss a thing.
She makes the experience very comfortable by chatting and being really friendly. The space is lovely and relaxing.
I have recommended her to so many people and will continue to do so. Go see Beth she is amazing.

it’d been far far too long since my last bikini wax AND i was looking for a new waxer so i was a littler nervous. beth was super nice on the phone and really friendly and fun to talk to during the waxing process… which is awesome. i’m coming in and taking my pants off within minutes of meeting you, we better be comfy together.
but the getting down to business, i mean that’s the important part, right… she used a combo of soft and hard wax (different types on different spots) followed by tweezing. i’d never used a hard wax before and it was great! much less painful because it doesn’t tug at your skin. hooray!
all in all… great little place. really cute. great service.

Finding a good waxer can be tricky. After reading reviews on Unilocal I made an appointment with Beth and I was so happy I did.
Beth was very friendly and welcoming from the first minute I stepped foot into her shop. Although it wasn’t my first wax appointment, she made me feel very comfortable and kept reassuring me that I was doing great (in terms of handling the pain). Studio B was very clean and bright, and she was super friendly — we chatted the entire time.
She was very efficient and gentle and I was so happy with her work. I was amazed to learn that she handles everything from waxing to answering the phones (but she doesn’t answer during an appointment — I love that she’s so focused on the customer).

I’m a believer!
So my eyebrows are NUTSO — like Chewbacca nutso. They twist and curl and reject the ideas of symmetry and order. No more. Beth is a genius and a miracle worker.
I am shocked in the best way possible, and I’ll be back.

Beth is truly the best hair removal expert in the city. it’s as though your best friend is waxing you, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed by your excess amount o’ lady hair or the fact that you’re a big ol’ baby as she removes it. it’s rare that an aesthetician is so flagrantly intelligent. Not to mention the fact that she is a perfectionist and will see that every hair that needs to be taken care of is taken care of.
also, she keeps that place CLEAN: no double-​dipping of the wax sticks. gloves. a clean floor. a clean «bed.»
you are in the best hands. i leave her feeling rejuvenated and so happy that there are people like this in the world.

Leaving behind my wonderful friend and owner of La Papillon Spa in Maryland was traumatic for me. Enter Beth. When it comes to the nether-​regions, experience and expertise are so important. Quick, relatively painless, thorough!!! Her prices are very reasonable. I was paying 50% more at my original place and would gladly pay that again here.
She’s a fantastic person as well and shared so many great insights and tips for me as a newcomer to the city.
I’m adding her to my regular schedule and am actually looking forward to my next visit back! (not in a skeevie way, it was just that easy).
