I walked by today and they are closed — bummer! I had mani/pedi’s done there. Albina did a great job and the price was reasonable. However, I often wondered how they stayed open — huge space and usually just one or two people there. They had a great space for massages, etc but never used it. I hope someone else moves in!

Suzy did an amazing job with my hair every time. I’m so sad to see they have closed to abruptly. I have a really difficult time allowing people to work on my hair. Also, Isabel did amazing mani/pedi. Please let me know if there is a way to contact Suzy or Isabel for the future.

Nothing but excellent comes to mind when thinking of my mani-pedis from Luna. Extremely sad to hear they are closed. If anyone has leads how to get a hold of Isabel or albina so I could still have them do my mani pedi, would be great!

I love Albina for a detailed mani and pedi. Nice, clean, updated salon. It’s my neighborhood go-to!

I’ve had my hair cut by Justin and Susie. Both are experts at their craft, and make my hair look really great, even though I insist that no product be applied.(Somehow they manage to make it look great just in the way they cut and blow dry it, and though I can’t duplicate the feat after I wash it, it’s still something to behold.) The price for a men’s haircut is also pretty amazing.(I honestly don’t know how it’s sustainable given what it must cost to maintain a salon of this size.)

I have only gone to Luna for Mani/Pedi’s, never for a haircut so I can’t comment on the hair services. Their nail services are a great value and I’ve always been happy with how they turn out. I have had a couple different girls and all of them are great. They also have the Shellac 7-day weekly polish which is fantastic! It isn’t the typical gel manicure with the UV light, just a regular nail polish and it has always lasted at least TWO weeks without chipping! I have never had to make an appointment here, I have always been able to walk in and get service. If anything, what takes the longest is picking out a color. I have really been spoiled having this salon walking distance in my neighborhood.

I got my nails done several times by both Isabelle and Albina. Both do a spectacular job. The salon is less expensive than most – their gel and Shellac are both under average – and the salon is bright, clean, and well decorated.

Before I ever made an appointment to get my hair cut here, I had purchased a gift certificate for my mom; a spa pedicure totaling $ 40.00. A few weeks later, I made an appointment to get my hair done after reading all of these rave reviews on Unilocal. It was nothing complicated; all I wanted was a trim that also maintained my layers. I wasn’t picky about the length of the trim; I told Justin that I knew there were a lot of dead ends so please not to worry too much about the length. I told Justin to simply make sure it wasn’t a straight-across cut at the bottom. Now, I take partial blame for the fact that directions weren’t at all followed as I had gotten into a deep political discussion about Rahm Emanuel with Justin and probably distracted him from the two simple instructions I’d given, but it was in fact a straight-across cut at the bottom. I looked like I was 12. I called Luna and asked if I could come back in to get it fixed. When I went back in, Justin was a bit embarrassed but was professional and fixed my hair cut as best I guess he was able. Still was straight-across but he added some layering back in. Now, back to the gift certificate. It expired! Yeah, my mom should’ve used it within three months, but seriously? It wasn’t even like. 5% deducted after a year or something like that; it just completely expired. So I basically feel like I got $ 40.00 stolen from me and a crap haircut.

I saw Susie for the first time last week(based on Unilocal reviews – thanks!). I had a nightmare experience a year ago just after moving to the city and was too scared to try to find a new salon. I know, I know – an entire year! But it took that long for my hair to grow back out after the nightmare. I made an appointment online and got in the same day.(Yes, you have to enter your credit card info, but where do you not have to give that to hold an appointment? Seriously.) Susie was easy to talk to and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted and my usual routine. I’m not super girly-girl and her questions and knowledge made it so much easier to end up with a cut I love. She gave me a ton of tips for how to use different kinds of products to get different looks and took everything I said into account, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. I’m trying to grow out bangs and short hair, but wanted shape. At first I was nervous that she hadn’t taken much off, but after a week – I am INLOVE with my hair. She shaped everything perfectly!!! I don’t like to spend much time on my hair and with her tips and the shaping, I can get a few different looks with barely any trouble. Of course it’s her job to sell product, but the ones she helped me discover are amazing and they have a great select in the salon without pressuring you to buy. They had several vegan and natural products available, which I appreciated. I found my person here for under a million bucks! YES!!! I will be back over and over again for cuts, and plan to make an appointment for a mani. The salon was very clean and pleasant – not overly styled or absurdly decorated. It felt fresh and welcoming.

My review is only regarding nail services since I’ve never done my hair here. Yet! If you are looking for an excellent mani-pedi in a nice clean salon with nice staff, pleasant ambiance and music, if you don’t want your nail technician to be speaking with others employees loud and act like you are not there(most neighborhood salons are like that);if you just want to be treated nicely and have spa-like experience –come to LUNA! Every time I wanted to get my nails done I had to pay tons of money!!(salons like Mario tricocci or red door) about a year and a half ago I found this place and come here ever since! The best manicure and pedicure you can get in the city for this price. Both Isabel and Albina do great job. If you are looking for perfect French manicure-book Isabel. She does it effortlessly and quick without using any kind of stickers/brushes etc. Great great great !!! P. S. They have strict booking policies so try not to be late!

For at least 15 years I’ve been getting a pedicure at about once month. Over the years, I’ve been to countless salons in search of a good pedicure. I’ve found many good ones but the pedicure and overall experience at Luna is excellent. I’ve now been coming here for about a year and it hasn’t disappointed. I’ve never had a better overall experience! Thank you Isabel for a great pedicure! Also, the owner/manager is so nice and welcoming. Making appointments is super easy and they will send a text confirmation. The salon is never super busy, so I don’t feel like I’m on conveyor belt of pedicures. The service is always attentive and personalized. This is a neighborhood gem.

I have been coming to this Salon for almost 3 years. One of my friend recommended me to see stylist Susie. Since 2013 until now. I stuck with her !! She is amazing !! This Salon is always nice and clean My personal. I don’t let too many people styles my hair and I very picky with the hair stylists. From my place to this salon some time it can take over an hour but I still go there just to have Susie take care me :) Highly recommended this salon !!

Twice I have tried to give these people my business, and twice they have refused to hold appointments for me for low-cost services unless I give them a credit card number. The first time, I walked in on a Thursday to book a wash and blow dry for a Saturday morning. They quoted me something like $ 30 – 40 and wanted a credit card. I didn’t have my cc and they called me the next day to get it. The owner said he couldn’t hold my appointment without it. So I cancelled the appointment and went elsewhere. My friend said she gets her nails done there and they’ve never asked for her cc, so this morning at 11am when they opened I called to see if I could walk in for a pedicure. I literally live a block away. He said I could come in, but refused to hold the appointment for me without my credit card number and told me that if someone walks in before I arrive, he will have to give them the service. I mean seriously. For a ~$ 30 service. Needless to say — I’m done trying to give these people my business.

HOWDOYOURATE A SALONTHATMADEYOURHAIRFALLOUT? It’s a shame I have to give Luna even a one star review. Based on all the five star reviews(which I’m now very suspect to believe are fake), I booked a color and cut with Susie. She wasn’t very friendly which was uncomfortable, and her cut was average at best. I did really really like the color she chose, though! THEN, I started losing my hair and it was coming out in clumps in the shower. I went to see my dermatologist and after ruling out other factors(stress, diet, skin disorder, even blood work!), she determined bad hair dye was the reason. When I called Luna to tell them about their dye, the guy that answered the phone dismissed it and then tried to sell me a very expensive product($ 200+) that would help with hair growth. PLEASE, JUSTSAYNOWHENBOOKING A HAIRCOLORINGAPPOINTMENTWITHSUSIE!!!

Susie is amazing! I have been going to her for almost a year and have loved my hair every time. She and her husband own the business, and they both work really hard to make sure their customers have a great experience. I’ve also had my nails done by Nina and waxing done(by Justin, I think, can’t quite remember) and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. There are a few new stylists here, all of whom do great work. Top quality service at a small local business for great prices. It’s also pretty easy to get an appointment when you need one. I’m moving out of the city soon and I’m very sad to leave this place behind. Hopefully I’ll be able to come back and get an amazing cut and color again.

I walked in on a Friday night to chop off a foot of hair and I couldn’t be happier with the results! This was my first visit to the salon and I was paired up with Justin. He was very personable and I had a great time while I was there. I will definitely recommend this salon because of him.

Suzy! The most amazing service done on my hair cut, high lights and blow dry. I didn’t really know what I wanted done with my hair, but Suzy gave me great options in what I can do. After the results were done I was really impressed by her work! By the way, I had a horrible experience dying my hair at a young age! Suzy definitely took that negativity away! I’m so happy! Thank you so much for your great work and will be seeing you again soon! Highly recommend Luna Salon & Spa.

Just left the salon and I’m extremely satisfied with the service! Susie did an all over color with partial highlights along with a haircut to fix up my mess of a hairstyle. Can I just say, I look awesome!!! Maybe ten years younger? Yes! I’m going back for a Keratin treatment as soon as I can fit it into my schedule! :-)

I had a haircut and color done by Suzie, the owner. When I tell you that I am picky about my hair, that does not really begin to touch it. I am that person who stands up after a haircut, goes to the mirror, checks the length on both sides and the back of my hair, shows the stylist where there are a few things that are not quite perfect, and still goes home and finds a few things to correct on my own. In my defense, I have short hair that is straight, straight, straight and very difficult to cut. If I don’t do this, I end up with big«holes» in my haircut. On top of that I was going back from platinum to red; a process that is frequently an issue for colorists. I’ve had several really, really bad situations where the blonde parts end up pink and the roots are some weird shade of orange. Cute if you’re 20. Not so cute if you’re 43. But back to Suzie. She knew exactly what to do to get the color right the first time. I showed her one teeny, tiny little thing with the cut, which she fixed immediately. She then went back through my hair and found one other small thing that wasn’t 100% perfect the first time. We talked about product and the pros/cons of different options.(They have a little store there too with lots of great products that you can’t find anywhere else in the neighborhood – hooray!) When I left, my hair was absolutely perfect. The color was perfect: the cut was perfect; the product was perfect; the style was perfect. I’ve waited a week to write this because I sometimes find other issues. But it is still perfect. I was and am so very impressed by her and am delighted to find a new stylist in my neighborhood.
