Horrible unprofessional service. Never again. They were difficult to track down for my appointment. Then completely unprofessional when I finally was in front of the owner/​technician for a laser facial. Then she burned my skin by not using the equipment properly. Nope not going back ever. And they continue to reach out via email and text even after MANY times asking to be left off any lists or notifications.

SOLUX Med Spa has proven to me that they are truly dedicated to providing professional, and personalized skin care services.
Angelica, Morgan and Rhonda are excellent clinical aestheticians. They are all are very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and have great client care skills. I’ve been extremely pleased with my results of the IPLs and Green Peels. I came in one day for makeup and was given a consultation for much needed skin repair. I’m a client for life!

I never expected to go to a med spa (or like it) but I did and I LOVED Solux! I’m a very self-​conscious person so this was a big step for me. My only complaint is that I didn’t do it sooner. Full disclosure: I had read the reviews prior to going and didn’t know what to expect… I am SO happy I went. I’ve had no issues with communication (they returned my crazy voicemails – yes I am that annoying patient, they answered every question myself and WebMD have asked… ha!) and it didn’t take me long to find parking within walking distance.
What can I say? The place is gorgeous! So clean and the fresh flowers were beautiful. I stepped out of the elevator and was welcomed so warmly. I wish I would have gone sooner. Everyone at Solux was very kind and attentive. I met with Angelica and discussed the things I was interested in doing/​the issues I was having and she was so sweet! I’m one of those people that needs to know it all before I do anything and I thought my questions might be too much (aka annoying) but I couldn’t have been more wrong. She took her time with me and made sure that I was relaxed. I truly appreciate her attentiveness (and patience). I will be back!

I’ve been coming to Solux for a few years now. The growth and the amazing changes to Solux are outstanding. First let me start by mentioning the aesthetics of Solux. Beautiful!!! Very chic and remarkably clean. Staff is so very friendly. As the elevator opened, I was warmly greeted by George and Morgan. They checked me in and brought me a cup of tea while I waited (I was early for my appt). I’ve been seeing Angelica for IPLs, today I was seeing her for a green peal. I’ve also seen Morgan in the past for treatment who is amazing as well. My skin is gorgeous! As a side note, I had my lips augmented with filler by the nurse injector, Rhonda. My lips are perfect! May I say… Kylie Jenner who? Lol. Rhonda developed a «face design» for me. I’m so exited to begin that journey. She took the time to explain and educate me on the different options available to correct and prevent the effects of the aging process. There was absolutely no pressure… just education and information so I can take the steps at my own pace. After the holidays and with the new year, I’m also going to have cool sculpting done. I’m going to freeze my fat off, that’s right, freeze it off!!! How great is that??? I met with Jennifer and she is a positive energy to say the least. Because of the wonderful people at Solux and there perfected skills, I’ve never felt more beautiful. Thank you to all of you. Very grateful

Rhonda and Morgan are very knowledgable and I highly recommend them both.

Update below original post: Extremely unprofessional, difficult to get on the phone, multiple times no one was there when I had a scheduled appointment and they did nothing to rectify the situation. I am usually not pushed to the point where I feel I have to inform others how bad a company is, but SOLUX is just a joke. There are many other places in Chicago you can go and have the same treatments without dealing with a bunch of idiots
Update: I received a response to this post and was finally given the remaining balance owed to me for my final green facial. I was also offered a complementary service to compensate me for the issues. They seem to have gotten a new staff member in charge of handling PR, so it is possible they are cleaning up their act.

Service was very disappointing!
Cool sculpting is not for everyone and I learned the hard way. Make sure to get a second opinion before you go there for your services. I would rather have gone to a doctor’s office where they are skilled and and trained!!! I was told false information, such as, it doesn’t hurt and I was in pain during and after the sessions. I was also told that this is proven to work, but I saw ZERO results. They could not show me prove that it works through photos, but kept insisting that it worked on me. ALL LIES! I pretty much felt that they take anyone just to make $$$.
Don’t be fooled by the initial «friendly» encounter you get. Once you have a bad experience, it takes forever to have someone call you.

I went in for fractional resurfacing, I had 8 treatments and saw very little, if any difference. The only reason I give them 3 stars is because Taylor was super awesome.

I had an IPL facial here that I bought through one of those deal websites — I wanted to try it and was especially hoping to reduce the appearance of a few broken capillaries around my nose.
First, the good: the spa space was nice and the woman who did my treatment seemed like was experienced (a little hard to tell, since this was my first time). I got compliments for several weeks afterwards that my skin looked good which I’m attributing to the treatment.
The not-​so-​great: before I went into the treatment room, the woman doing my treatment asked me if the receptionist could come in and observe. I thought that was just weird — it’s not a beauty school — so I just politely declined and it was awkward all around.
In addition, the treatment did nothing to diminish the broken capillaries. In fact I had to ask girl to go over the areas — she seemed to skip them, which I thought was odd since I told her that was the main reason I was there.
So overall, a bit of an awkward experience and while I saw some benefit, it was not what I was looking for.

I’d been a client of theirs after purchasing a package for IPL and a few peels. Each and every time I went there, their service got worse and worse, but I had already bought the package, so I was kind of stuck. They do not return phone calls or text messages, even after I left multiple messages.
Last time was the worst and I will never go back, even though I still have outstanding treatment with them. The girl who did my treatment was rude and condescending-​she was new since the last time I had been there. After I’d already had 3 IPL treatments in the past, she told me she didn’t think that was the best choice for me (this is after other people there had done this exact treatment on me, with good results)! Then she tried to sell me on a whole new peel package and it took all my strength not to run from the room at that point. She finally did the IPL, but on such a low setting that it basically did nothing (I’ve had them multiple times so I know what is supposed to happen afterwards.)
The girl at the front desk was a complete idiot, not knowing how to check me out or ring up a purchase for me and then they overcharged me on top of it! They also did not have any bags for me to carry my purchase home, to top off the entire bad customer service experience.
I run my own practice and when I got into my office the next day, I used this staff and this particular experience as an example of what NOT to do in any office! I have been to other med spas in the city and this was by far the worst overall experience I have ever had. I will never, ever go back!

I purchased a coupon for a green peel from Living Social. I have not seen any difference after the treatment.
Unfortunately, I got convinced into buying a package of 3 because that’s when I’d see te results. Big mistake on my side. Second green peel was not much better at all. It’s impossible to schedule an appointment– they let go of the receptionist (who took two days to return a message, but still).
The only reason this place got an extra star is thanks to Eddie, who’s trying to do a decent job despite the circumstances.
I was thinking of doing some wrinkle fillers or similar treatment but I think I’m better off shoping around. I would not want to have complications and not be able to talk to anyone.

I made an appointment for a photofacial after seeing the Pretty City deal. I did not have the same issues as others did making an appointment. I spoke to the receptionist the first time I called and made an appointment for a couple weeks later.
However, yesterday I got there right on time for my facial, and NO ONE WAS THERE! I’m not even sure how I was able to get in, the elevator opened right into the spa. It took me a minute to realize only the emergency lights were on and the place was deserted. Thinking maybe someone ran a quick errand, I sat down and waited 15 minutes just to be sure and even called and left a message.
There are so many other spas in this city that I will not be returning!

i’m a fan. first time venturing into the world of lasers, but with a youswoop in hand, i figured i’d give it a go. first up – underarm hair removal. not nearly as painful as i thought it’d be. the medspa is absolutely spotless and has great décor. it is just the right mix of being pretty and feeling like you’re getting actual medical-​type services. edie was my technician, and she’s great. highly recommend the place if only for her. she explained everything thoroughly and definitely went easy on me the first time around. i’m just about done with that area, so am considering other locations.

So, I am a big fan of spas since I spent six months last year in China where I got over my fear of spas in general (mostly because all of the services were so cheap). Coming back to the states was hard because I knew I would be spending more money, but if I was going to keep up this commitment to spa life, I wanted to try some different treatments that I wouldn’t have been comfortable getting with my limited understanding of Mandarin and Cantonese. (This is a good rule for all spa treatments: know exactly what they are going to be doing to you.)
In short, I love So Lux. Their customer service is amazing and they, apparently, have a new office that is really nice. I went in for IPL (photo facial) treatment on my face and treatment of an old scar on my arm, which I thought would hurt more and be more expensive than it was. What was amazing is how different (good different, not bad different) my skin looks. Up close, I can see that the laser removed some pigment spots and broken blood vessels. My scar, specifically, is smaller and lighter in color after two treatments. Really amazing technology all around (lasers?!? crazy…) and really knowledgeable staff, while also being supportive about treatments that I didn’t know much about. I would recommend them to anyone.

SoLux is an amazing place. They’re finishing up a major renovation and the spa looks gorgeous! Add to that the fantastic location (near Hubbard Inn, Paris Club, Hub 51 and the other Hubbard-​Street haunts) and you’ll feel like a million bucks coming and going here. I’ve never had trouble finding metered parking in the area, and there are tons of pay lots around. If you need a snack before your treatment, stop by the Starbucks on the corner.
One thing I didn’t even know to ask about when visiting a Med Spa was the quality of the equipment: SoLux uses the top-​of-​the-​line laser for laser hair removal, which really helps with the pain of the procedure (which isn’t that bad). I’ve also had an IPL facial (they have a great deal running right now that made it barely more expensive than an ordinary facial … and the results are stunning), skin analysis, and botox. Everyone at the spa is well trained, completely professional, and super friendly and nice. I HIGHLY recommend SoLux!

Totally agree with everything that has been posted. I’m not even using the last mircrodermabrasion that I have from the package becasue I cannot ever get anything other than an answering machine and we play phone tag. The microdermabrasion that I did get is nothing like the service I received from Spa Space or Salon Soak. I also had to wait for 20 to 30 minutes each appt I did have becasue they were behind. Personally I would stay away.

Had a Living coupon for Botox… not very friendly doctor and she claims she put in 20 untis, but I only got 4 shots AND in my hairline — –I DONT have wrinkles in my hairline. DONT DO IT! and… they charge $ 15 a unit… way over priced.

I love this place! My skin looked amazing after several treatments and I definitely got the best advice to correct some skin concerns I had. I also love going there to relax and get pampered!

The metered parking is used by the valets of the restaurants and bars in the area, so that is completely false. No other spa I have been to in Chicago is shameless enough to think that offering 12 $ valet service is a good thing, so in that sense you are unique and offering things that others don’t. Your website is still listed as being under construction, perhaps you should spend time on that instead of responding to honest reviews on Unilocal you don’t care for.
As for the answering service/​patient coordinator, you didn’t have it two months ago or you would have returned my multiple messages. But going by the other reviews posted all I’ve missed is appointments being canceled at the last minute and non-​working three year old (!) equipment.

I too had an unfortunate first impression when my Saturday appt was cancelled 10 minutes before I arrived. I was told there was a death in the family. What can ya do. One of the owners went out of her way however to make it up to me and provided one complimentary service and I have another scheduled. Both people I met there were very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The space is private and relaxing. I’ll report back after my second appt. to confirm my recommendation. My guess is that some of these places get overwhelmed with the Pretty City responses and either over book or just can’t keep up. But, so far, my experience with the owner’s apology and 2 free services cancels out the inconvenience and inital frustration I experienced.
