Shot Time is a team of videographers, editors, photographers, and all around good people. We began our company in May 2011 as a marketing video production company working with Chicago and LA based businesses to help build their brands and promote their products. Over the years, we have made hundreds of high quality videos for clients, ranging from universities, restaurants, and other independent businesses to help with recruitment efforts, fundraising goals, and overall marketing strategies.

In 2014, Shot Time branched into wedding videography and engagement photography, and we have loved every minute of being part of a couple’s special day. We work side by side with our couples from the first phase of planning to the big day and the completion of their dream video.

We know that planning for a video of any type does not fall into a 9 – 5 window, which is why we operate on an appointment based scheduling system. This means we can be flexible to fit the needs of any hectic calendar.

Shot Time is comprised of more than just filmmakers and photographers. We are a husband and wife owned company who enjoy meeting new people and capturing special moments. We are the familiar face in the crowd who will catch your grandparents slow dancing to your favorite song. We are the artists who will employ technique and creativity to your next marketing goal. We are innovators, storytellers, and lovers of film. We are Shot Time Productions.

History

Established in 2011.

Believe it or not, Shot Time Productions started in a dining room, its founding members working round the clock to grow it into the video production company it is today.

Currently owned and operated by Jimmy and (his soon to be) wife, Melissa, Shot Time has successfully produced marketing videos for large and small businesses around the Chicagoland area. We’ve won awards, we’ve had screenings, we’ve shot food wrapped in bacon (that’s when you KNOW you’ve hit it BIG), we love to shoot and edit and edit and shoot, and we’re ready to do it for you.

The company branched into weddings after the engaged owners found it nearly impossible to get quality video and photos that didn’t exceed their «pretty-​normal-​person» budget. This is what makes us special. We get it. Shot Time’s wedding department was founded on the principle that your video should be fun, high quality, and affordable.

Jimmy B.

Business Owner

Jimmy founded Shot Time Productions as soon as he graduated from Loyola University Chicago, where he studied film production and communications.

With what can only be called movie magic wizardry, working insane hours and tirelessly growing the company for the past three years, Shot Time’s president decided to further his knowledge in filmmaking, and he is currently working towards an MFA in Cinema at DePaul University.

His success, both academically and professionally, can only be attributed to his food of choice: deep dish pizza from pretty much anywhere.
