Midwest is one of Chicago’s longest lasting musical instrument retailers, with 35 years experience in professional sound, lights, and DJ equipment. The Nerd Audio team founded this side of the business in 2012.

The people that work here are super nice and actually know things about the gear they sell. It’s such a refreshing atmosphere compared to some other big box retailers. Besides for the incredible customer service, nerd audio has some of the most incredible synthesizers! Pittsburgh modular! Stg Soundlabs! Elektron! Waldorf! Teenage Engineering! I don’t think there is anywhere else in Chicago where you can get hands on time with all of these synths (and so many more) under one roof. Hopefully there is a bigger store front and more locations in their future.
