High quality piano, singing and pre-​school music lessons for students of all ages. A variety of methods, musical styles and lesson structures are creatively integrated to satisfy the unique goals and needs of each student.

A cozy sitting room, full kitchen and restroom are available for students, parents and siblings. The waiting area is equipped with free wifi, cable tv and Netflix kids as well as a warm-​up piano.

History

Established in 2003.

After teaching music in many public and private schools, Jared opened The Metzger School of Music to focus on private piano and singing lessons for students of all ages. He has enjoyed independently instructing and cultivating this successful studio for the past 13 years.

Meet the Business Owner

Jared M.

Business Owner

Originally trained as a classical singer and pianist, Jared began his career in North Carolina singing opera and art songs. After finishing undergraduate school, he sang with the Charlotte Philharmonic Chorus and played leading roles in area musicals. He then moved to Chicago for graduate school where he performed with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Fourth Presbyterian Church and continued singing roles in various musicals and operas. After graduate school, he studied traditional as well as more modern methods with top Chicago instructors and began teaching both classical and contemporary voice and piano. Since then, he has enjoyed great success as a private instructor and performer in Chicago.

Jared holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in voice from Northeastern Illinois University and has studied piano for over 25 years. He is also certified in Orff early childhood music from DePaul University.
