His experience in trading high level real estate securities and performing granular market analysis helps him to accurately interpret housing market data and trends and share powerful insight with his clients. Most importantly, Michael John provides top level negotiation skills which he developed while successfully trading billions of securities directly with Wall Street. Whether buying or selling, Michael John’s clients reap the benefits from his knowledge, market expertise and negotiation skills in every real estate transaction.
Michael John has appeared on both live radio and live podcasts to discuss local housing markets and
trends. He was additionally awarded a «Best of Trulia Top Agent.» This award goes to the top 1% of
agents on Trulia and is based on sales, client reviews and client ratings. Most recently, Michael John’s
business was published in a feature by Top Agent Magazine, a nationally distributed real estate periodical.
History
Established in 2012.
After parting ways with my previous employer and moving back to Chicago, I had some time to pause and determine the next chapter of my professional life. I wanted to do something that would allow me to meet many new people while also utilizing the technical expertise and knowledge I gained having been immersed in Asset Backed Securities for over a decade. Most of all, I had the desire to use those abilities in conjunction with my personality to be of service to the Chicagoland community. Choosing to become a real estate professional provided me with an optimal balance.
Upon interviewing countless large real estate firms throughout Chicago to determine the best fit for me, I chose to identify myself with @properties for a number of reasons, incuding: The company’s #1 market share in Chicago, its dramatic growth despite the economic crisis and the firm’s private, non-franchised ownership.

For Michael John Ferry, being a real estate agent is more than just about buying and selling property. It’s about helping people find a place to call home. From a starter house to a retirement property, each purchase is a momentous occasion, and Michael John is honored to be involved.
Michael John’s belief is that «Although a transaction may emerge exclusively from having superior knowledge of the market or the ability to connect with people, only with a delicate balance of both, can a successful lifelong relationship be made in real estate.»
When not immersed in real estate, Michael is often immersed in music. A classically trained violinist, Michael John has been playing since he was only 6. He’s performed leadership roles with numerous orchestras throughout Chicagoland and has music degrees from both Bucknell University and Northeastern Illinois University.
Michael lives in Lakeview and enjoys playing chamber music, most especially Beethoven.
