Luc Thang has been my go-to place for Asian take-out since that Chinese place on Milwaukee Ave near Paulina closed. I almost always get the Vietnamese beef noodle and pay $ 2 on top for extra beef. Without that, it’s a lot of noodles for the beef, but for $ 7 it’s still worth it. Dip the beef in the fish sauce that comes with it. Delicious! I like the little egg rolls that are mixed in with it. Fresh mint too. My gf gets the Pad Siew and says the ingredients are fresh, though it’s a little oily. In all we’ll keep coming back. Cheap and tasty and the service is always fast and polite.

I used to go this place all the time and love them since they have very good vegetarian options. I just went for the lunch special and the waitress was very rude. I asked her about some veggie tempura which isnt on the menu but they always do it for us and she was like we don’t have it and walked off before I could tell her that always get it. Anyways whatever we just ordered some Fried tofu. The tofu was good as always. We ordered pad Thai with tofu and the veggie delight with tofu. As soon as she put the plate down u could smell that something was off, and sure enough my son bites into his tofu and almost threw up. When I smelled the tofu it smelled soooooooo spoiled and was so sour. I told the waitress that it was bad and if she could smell it and she wouldn’t, she didn’t even say let me check or can we get u anything else she walked away again and than comes back and says that the tofu was bought yesterday. So, I asked her why doesn’t that tofu smell or taste like this one and she just shrugs her shoulders. And tries to give me take home boxes. THISWASTHEWORSTEXPERIENCEEVERAND I JUSTHOPETHATMYSONSORHUSBANDDONTGETSICK!!! They don’t even deserve a STAR.

I wanted to like it, I really did. The Vietnamese spring rolls were large and the sauce was the usual hoisin, which was good. Pad Thai was passable, but I guess overall the flavor profile was just off compared to other Thai places. The flavors didn’t come together well. I don’t think I will be back.

This is definition of cheap, tasty, reliable Asian take out. I have ordered noodle, curry, soup, and they all been good. Also taken their food to a mostly Asian potluck and it was well-received. On cold rainy Chicago nights, their soup definitely got the spot. While there are tables and chairs inside, the ambience inside isn’t the most charming,(translation: smells greasy) so I don’t eat in. Probably the most reliable Asian take out in Wicker Park. Definitely give this a try.

Although sign says Thai and Chinese food, they have a lot of great(better!) vietnamese options. Inexpensive alternative to argyle restaurants and rare find in this part of town.

Went to this place for years as it was just right across the street, tried almost everything on the menu but quickly settled on reordering a few things over and over as most of the food here is pretty bad. Best dish by far is the pork chop with salted shrimps. Wonton soup is good, as is the Chinese fried rice and chicken/beef satay with peanut sauce appetizer. I also occasionally got the Penang curry and the egg rolls, but they are just average. Again though, really loved the pork chop here, one of the best tasting pork chops I’ve had, pretty good for a restaurant I’d describe as «really bad.» Funny memory of this place is walking up to pick up an order and a cop walking out told her partner pretty loudly«That was horrible.» The restaurant is almost always empty, but they stay afloat via takeout orders. People who run the place are nice.

just another average joe asian restaurant. i usually wouldn’t bother reviewing such a thing, but the combination of chinese/thai food + incredibly cheap prices urges me to change my ways. protips: byob, but definitely a takeout kinda place(ie, not the nicest dining situation) check the menu beforehand, or close your eyes and pick something(120+ menu items) no identifiable crab pieces in the crab/cheese wontons(but i’m not mad, because they give 8 pieces for less than $ 4) thai & filipino dishes — give them a shot! cheaper than cheap(5.55 lunch deal for an entrée, soup, egg roll, & soda) food ain’t the best, but for some reason, this place will hold a small piece of my heart. aka — adding to my default go-to asian food delivery list when i’m feeling outside of the china court box.

dining area is like some forgotten dusty realm of the past. some of the seats of broken so that your butt falls into them. service is a ok. egg rolls are out of this world. pot stickers are strangely gritty and metallic tasting. vietnamese spring rolls are great. sweet and sour pork was about 5 pieces of meat in a pool of sugary red thai sauce. Vietnamese Grilled Beef Noodle was good but the beef was very dry. oooh but the Panang curry with pork over rice was delicious.(recommended by the lady that served my table) something keeps me coming back to this place but MAN is it hit or miss. sticking with the 3 stars for the price.

We were craving for some asian food in the neighborhood and came across LucThang Noodles. I saw the reviews from Unilocal,so we decided to check it out. The place was empty when we got there. We ordered the spring roll, beef noodle soup, beef with brocolli leaf, and some shrimp salad. The portion size is right for the price. What sold me was the taste! Everything was just seasoned right. I’m definitely coming back again to try out the rest of their menu. The only thing I would suggest is play some soft music in the background(the place was just too quiet).

I’m surprised there aren’t more people in here. They have a lunch special under 6 bucks from 11am-3pm. I asked for the beef and Asian broccoli in oyster sauce and substituted the beef for chicken. Soooo good. It also came with an egg roll, tom yum soup and pop. Such a great deal for a lot of good food.

This is our favorite place to eat out… It’s «consistent» in the taste, flavor and most importantly,… Freshness of their food!. We always get the Tum-yum soup-the favor is is outstanding. The spring rolls are done to perfection, and the chicken subgum is a fan fav. I’m impressed with the quality and crispness of the veggies. And who can beat the price!

Writing this review based on take out service only. Delivery service exceeded our expectations as the food was served up HOT and before we expected it to arrive. The Tom Yum soup with chicken is so flavorful and not too spicy. The flavors are authentic and servings plentiful.

This is a warm and comfortable Thai/pan Asian restaurant with solid food and pleasant, family-run service. This is my go-to place for super affordable and yummy Asian eats. Where else can you find entrees big enough it serves as two meals for under $ 6 nowadays? NOWHERE, that’s where, except for Luc Thang Noodle. This is a neighborhood joint for fresh and fast, quality food. Must orders are: Vietnamese Spring Rolls(fresh, huge, and comes with an insanely addictive peanut dipping sauce) $ 3.95 for 2 Crab Rangoons(generously stuffed with creamy goodness and is served hot and crispy) $ 3.95 for 8 Egg Foo Young(best EFY in town!!! huge portions too!) $ 4.50 Kao Pad Saparos(fried rice with combination of Chinese sausage, BBQ pork, pineapple, egg and vegetables and totally yummy) $ 5.75 Pad Thai(not your traditional take on this Thai staple. Try it — it’s different but amazing yummy!) $ 5.75 Thai Iced Coffee and Iced Tea(off the chain and generously poured) only $ 2.00 here, whereas other places are charging a crazy $ 3.50! I can go on and on about the menu… Bottom line is it’s great food and an even greater value. Try it and you will keep coming back, I promise! BYOB and perfect for a quick dinner, take out, or even a girls night out at an unassuming place! Love you LTN!!!

Delicious, fresh, authentic, and home made tasting. Seems like they’re making everything from scratch. I’m excited to have found this place! Much much better than Silom 12 or Penny’s and cheap! Delivery was quick.

By no means fancy/classy, but not being rude the slightest bit but more of a take out place rather than sit down. I do have to say it does get the job done for a fair price! I tend to stick with the curry dishes or pad kee Mao or pad see eiw and both are a good bang for the buck. Service is always nice and quick, the dining room is typically empty but the people that do come here must order take out like I do or else I couldn’t imagine they would still be open. Lol.

Okay yuck. I just got home from ordering from here and I’m sad to say this is by far the most disgusting display of Thai food I have ever experienced. If you read my other reviews you know that I love Thai. I always try to order something I feel should be a pretty safe bet at Asian places because they usually get the staples right, then if all is good and I have no stomach issues after the meal, I move on to something a little bit more adventuresome. So I ordered sweet and sour chicken. Yuck yuck yuck… First of all, they mix the chicken in the sauce and send it to go, so I get home to mushy nasty chicken yay! Second the sauce is creamy and thick and tastes like salt. I don’t know what planet sweet and sour chicken is made this way, but I’ve never tasted it like this on Earth before. Gross is all I can say. It was not edible at all. I did order a back up, the Vietnamese beef noodle which was okay. Nothing ground moving but acceptable. Overall the place is dirty, the people are civil, and the food is not good. Not even worth the measley $ 6 they change you for the meal. I won’t be back, there are tons of great Thai places at the same price point that blow this joint away.

Really great meals. Excellent & fresh food. Lunch specials are insanely cheap. I know I’m not a huge Unilocaler. I should say more in detail, but I can say this… I NEVER Unilocal unless I really like a place & thinks it deserves recognition. I love fine dining & this place is def a little«hole in the wall» compared to places I usually go, but I honestly still love it. Its rare I repeat restaurants & this will def be one of the few places I will go to over and over again. :) Great, great food. Check it out! oh & its BYOB
