Lincoln Square Nails

When I first moved to the Lincoln Square neighborhood I started going to this nail salon every two weeks and they were great. Slowly I started noticing changes in the staff and they became more and more limited as far as taking walk ins went. Recently I stopped in for what should have been a quick pedicure on a Thursday night and they asked me if I could wait an hour. AN HOUR! There were only two people working and there was no way I was willing to wait an hour for a 30 minute pedicure. Spend your money and your time else wear.

A hidden gem! Nice manicurists, pretty clean, excellent deals, especially if you find yourself at the salon on a weekday afternoon!

I only come here for Lynn — her no-​chip and pedi are good. The other lady (who I believe is Lynn’s mother) does not speak much English, was a bit rough when cutting my cuticles, and was also a bit rude at times (she handed my jacket and purse — both of which were placed on an empty chair — to another customer — we both told her they are mine — she proceeded to dump my jacket back on MY chair with my purse hanging off 1 strap — stop abusing my Miu Miu!!).
The only problem with this place is they only have 2 people (+ part time staff during busy times/​season) and does not have a good booking/​reservation system. There have been times when I called ahead, told Lynn I’d come at a certain time, be there on time, only to wait for over half an hour. So my advice is — go there during off-​times (i.e. weekday before 5pm), and only go with Lynn.

First time here and was really happy. Really clean salon and everyone is nice. The owner, Lynn did my no chip and Pedi. Love her bc she actually gave a crap about how I wanted my designs on my nails. Will be coming back.

I love this place! Lynn is great! Always very accommodating, friendly, and there’s always street parking available. Their no-​chip last well past the two weeks and never chips! Lynn takes her time and makes sure you’re happy. I definitely recommend!!!

This place is the absolute best. The ladies here are always willing to go above and beyond to give you what you want. I’ve been coming here religiously for a few months and I’ve never been disappointed. No to mention they also do threading!

So I came to this nail shop since I recently moved into the area. This place was within walking distance and did acrylic nails. (My usual spot is Hot nails but it was definitely a drive not a walk sad face) so I wanted to try something new, Lincoln square area hasn’t disappointed me… yet.
I walk in and was asked what I would like to get done which was a fill in and a polish change on my toes. So the younger lady asked if I had time to wait. I said sure I’m not in a rush. So she asks me to pick my color and so I did. Right when I’m about to sit down on the waiting chair, this gentlemen comes in and points me to the pedicure chair. As he was working on my feet, he said in his native language that «I hate doing feet, they smell.» Surprise to them, I AM Vietnamese and understood the whole thing. I was already fuming. And the two ladies working told him to shush and that she’s Vietnamese. (Hint moron: even they knew I was)
I continue to hold my composure because it’s not the ladies fault for his fowl mouth. So I continue to get my fill in. I asked for my nails to be shorter since my nails were pretty long and I wanted almond shape nails. So she proceeds to do my nails. I end up with just a regular curve shape. Ok, now I know this is just going to end up bad.
My nails were painted on and the color was just of poor quality. It was clumpy but she continued to color it knowing how bad the color went on my nail. At this point I just want to run out of here. I paid for my nails (wasn’t cheap either $ 30, for $ 38 at hot nails you can get a FULL SET AND PEDICURE) okay whatever, I pay for them and tip cash since they have obnoxious signs everywhere to tip in cash to the nail techs. OK I got the memo, I still tipped 20% because I do work in the hospitality field so I understand how hard it is living off tips.
I did let the lady know that what the gentlemen said was out right rude and if he didn’t want to work on feet then he shouldn’t have or picked another profession. She looked at me kind of dumb faced at first so I said it in Vietnamese again for her to understand. She apologized twice but it was a very petty apology. All in all, I wasted my time, money, and patience to tolerate such a bad business. If you’re going to talk sh*t the logical thing to do was wait until I atleast left. I will NEVER come back here and make sure I tell everyone of their bad practice. You have been warned, and they do talk a lot of smack while working on clients nails which is pretty pathetic. I’ll make the drive next time, lesson learned.

Two weeks later, and my no-​chip polish is still 95% on. Not bad. I went with a group, and one person in my group was sort of «forgotten» while her feet were in the pedicure bath, so she soaked her feet for a good half hour while the pedicurist worked on others. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

I had made an appt to treat myself to my 1^st no-​chip manicure. Was kept waiting for my appt. No one acknowledged that they were running late, and I had already paid for my meter. A customer came in as a walk-​in, was told to come back tmrw, and was sent away because they were busy. When I asked if I should reschedule, the lady said «oh no, we’ll be with you in a moment.»
15 minutes later, I was attended to. The lady told me the no-​chip would last at least 2 weeks, and if it chipped they would fix it for free within that time. She did a mediocre polish job that didn’t cover the edges of the nail.
The manicure lasted only 8 days. Unfortunately I was on vacation out the country at the time. I took pictures of the chipping when it began. By the time I returned, I only had 2.5 fingers with polish on. I went back to the salon when I returned and was told, that 1) I should’ve told them immediately when it happened 2) I should’ve called before coming in 3) I should’ve gotten my nails redone abroad instead of waiting.
The lady agreed to do my nails again but not without a different employee trying to get me to pay. Then they started to talk about me in their native language. My nails were finally redone but still looked mediocre.
I’m never going back.

Today was my third visit to Lincoln Square Nails, and was great. My manicures and pedicures have always been consistently good– relaxing and efficient at the same time. I see Lin, the owner– she is so sweet and has a great memory! We always have nice conversations. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!

I called in for an appointment to get a pedicure and manicure. I walked in and I was told to select a color. They have a large variety of professional nail polishes that are perfect for summer. My favorites are OPI and Essie which they had a whole wall of this to choose from. After picking my colors, I was quickly seated in the chair with no time to waste. The salon and it’s equipment are extremely clean. There were only 3 working but they still manage to give you individual attention. I had the manager do my manicure and she was pleasant to converse with. The price for a mani and pedi was only $ 33! This is a great price! I know I will be back here again.

WIth more visits than my 6 check ins, the place is spot on. Good service, great massage chairs to zone out while Lynn and her mom make the piggies and the fingers look lovely! I am very satisfied with this place, just wish I had more time to hit their business up more often.

I’m adding Lincoln Square Nails to my list of YES when it comes to mani/​pedis.
Walking in Wednesday morning there was no wait… it was just me and another customer. My technician was really sweet and the chit-​chat didn’t seem forced; it was nice chatting with her.
My No-​Chip manicure still looks great one week out. She had a great technique and the polish was applied very neatly and with good precision. When I first sat down for my pedi they handed me rings of colored tabs for all the colors of no-​chip they offer. It was kind of overwhelming – this place certainly wins for variety of no chip colors.
For my Pedicure, again, very good technique and neatly applied polish. I wish the the foot/​leg massage had more pressure, or longer time with the hot towel application. But there is a higher priced spa pedicure so I might have to ask for that the next time I visit. Friendly vibe, clean digs. All in all a great visit.

Came here off a referral from my friend. Exactly was what she explained. Nice, thorough, clean and you can’t beat the 35 $ mani pedi special. Very sweet employees, too. Definitely will be back. They had a plethora of nail colors and for no chip. You get a couple bucks off if you pay cash. Remember cash for tips, ladies!
Street parking and it wasn’t bad. Found a spot right outside. Definitely will recommend this place to others!

I’ve gotten a no-​chip mani/​pedi from here that lasted, no joke, over 1 & ½ months. I know you’re not supposed to leave it on that long but I was overseas. It lasted through several airports and rifling through tons of baggage, sandy beaches and sun, and all the usual wear and tear your hands endure on a daily basis. Amazing. I subtracted one star because there was miscommunication between my artist and I; I wanted a different color on my hands than she had used on my toenails, but it wound up being the same. I only didn’t have her take it off and correct it because I noticed after one hand was already done and I was on my way to the airport and didn’t have time to spare. Also, it got a little painful when my cuticles started bleeding from being trimmed. To be fair, it’s just something that happens, but it sucked having a giant red boo-​boo on two of my fingers throughout my trip.
Overall I recommend for a great no-​chip, and I will be returning and hoping to give them that one extra star back!

I have been coming to this place for the past 2 years and they are amazing. Lynn, who is the owner of this nail salon and also my nail technician never fails to surprise me. I saw on pinterest a really cute acrylic nails and I asked her if she can do the same thing for me and she didnt even hesitate and she went ahead and did it anyway. Now I am super happy with what she did for me. I love this place!

Shocked to see the negative reviews on Lincoln Square Nails. I have been searching for the last 10 years of living in Chicago for the perfect place to get my nails done… this is it.
They do a very thorough job. It’s super clean and incredibly friendly. I’ve had almost everyone do my nails there, even the guys, and they all do an excellent job. I’ve never had a mediocre or pretty good mani pedi here. Ever. The naysayers here are probably those crazy people who bitch about everything, and are constantly giving bad reviews for those minor mistakes humans make from time to time.
Go get your nails done here. They last forever, and are perfect. It’s super affordable. Friendly. Clean.
It’s the perfect nail salon. Give it a try, and don’t be a jerk.

A week has gone by since my review and I’m actually ammending it, going from two stars to one. Even with putting on lotion multiple times per day as well as oil my cuticles are so cracked I’m now using straight Vasoline to heal them. This has never happened to me before in all the years I’ve done manicures. As I said previously, I’m not a regular every two-​week customer of manicures, but I’ve had enough to know that this isn’t right.
And, the places that bled and were sensitive two days after? One still isn’t healed, hurts if anything touches it, and is

Today I felt like I quite possibly had the second worst pedicure of my entire life. I’m starting to believe I have a sign on my forehead that reads, «Cut Me». Previously my foot was gashed open at a salon using one of those blades on my heels. Needless to say I was horrified. Years later I’m back for more.
I was looking for somewhere near my workplace to get a mani/​pedi before leaving on vacation tomorrow. After walking into Salon O, which a coworker recommended, they turned me away and said they could see me in two hours. Yea, I’ll sit around for two hours… NOT. Anyway, Lincoln Square nails popped up on Unilocal and it was only a block away. They have a deal for $ 32 for mani/​pedis so in I went.
Long story short this woman went at my cuticles like my skin doesn’t actually have nerve endings. I moaned in pain and she kept going. The woman next to her said something in some foreign language not sure what it was, and she let up. Great – now I’m screwed with a painful toe and I was planning on walking a lot this next week.
She proceeded to smile, pat my foot and put that demon-​possessed alcohol concoction on it. I’m crossing my fingers gangrene won’t set in. I said to her, «it hurts» and she waved me off, shook her head and said, «you okay». Telling me in other words DONT BE A BIG BABY. YOU’RE FINE
I was livid. If that was the end of it but no. Terrible terrible polish job. Photos for proof.
At the end I said I don’t want the manicure I just want to pay and leave. The other lady, perhaps the manager, tried to make amends but I told her I don’t appreciate being told I’m okay when clearly I’m hurting. She kept trying to look at my feet but I just asked for my change and stormed off.
I thought writing a scathing review would make me feel better but it doesn’t. If anything I hope I can save some other poor soul from Edward Scissorhands.
Stay away. You’ve been warned. Oh and PS the «Free» WiFi doesn’t work.

They speak english well here.
No chip mani & pedi. 55.00.
They have mood changing colors.
No tv on and kinda hot inside is reason for only 3stars.
