I came here with a recommendation from a local who gets waxing done here and I wanted to get threading done to decrease my chance of a breakout after. There was only one lady in the whole place which was quite cute and large. She hurried me into a chair and ran back and forth to answer the phone and assist walk in customers. Through the process it hurt and she pinched me several times so I when I asked for a tissue she laughed and asked if it hurt. She showed me my eyebrows twice hurriedly and when I asked her to take more off she told me that I couldn’t have the natural style I wanted if she had to do that. I paid her when she felt done and left and it wasn’t until the next morning that I was able to see all the place she had cut me. It was an awful job and the brows aren’t even.

Havana Spa is my absolute favorite place to get my eyelash extensions. I have tried a ton of places in Chicago to get my lashes done, but this place is the best. I’ve actually gone to this really high end place in Las Vegas (only because I was vacationing and needed a refill), they only do eyelash extensions there, no other services, so I was surprised when it turned out to be awful. In Vegas, they charged me $ 150 JUST FOR A REFILL that looked waaay too natural and took an hour and a half. and at Havana Spa I only pay $ 70 and I’m in and out of there in 50 minutes. Joel is very skilled and you can tell he’s been doing lashes for a very long time, so he’s quick and that’s great. Also my lashes look dramatic and I don’t have to wear any makeup at all, I just look like I am wearing makeup all the time, which is awesome because I always used to take a whole 45 minutes to do my makeup every day. I go every two weeks to get my refill here and I am never disappointed.

After not being satisfied with a service. The owner reached out to me with the upmost sincerest apologies. She sure made everything better. I definitely will go back with Sandra. Thank you again.

I think I am going on 3 years now of getting my lashes done here. Joel does a fantastic job, I constantly get compliments on my lashes. Noticeable but people cant tell they are not my real lashes! The refills are slightly more expensive than what some of my friends pay other places, but I can definitely see a difference and, to me, it is worth it! Although, I wish they would offer packages.

The staff was nice but the manicure was chipping off within a day. I would not return to this salon as it is definitely not worth the money I spent to get my nails done there. I would recommend any of the other salons in the area and was sadly disappointed with the service at Havana Spa because I really wanted to like it!

I stopped by on monday morning hoping id be able to get my eyebrows waxed since I let them grow out way to long. It was a much needed wax that I needed. And after my friend recommended this place I decided to give it a chance. I was greeted and was taken to a chair where the lady told me if I wanted to use wax or thread. I normally go for thread but I decided on wax, I kid you not I was in and out within less then 10 mins. She was rather quick with the wax and trimmed the long hairs, usually after I get my eyebrows done they look even and clean. Once she was done she handed me a mirror I didn’t notice at first but they looked okay my eyebrow area was a little red so I left. Once I got home I noticed she left me with one eyebrow cleanly waxed while the other eyebrow was thinner and you could tell she waxed off way more hair. I had uneven brows I was shocked and for the past 2 weeks I’ve been having to fill in my thin brow to somewhat match my other brow. I care about my brows and now I have to let them grow out again to get them at a even shape. Ill be going back to the benefit brow brow they do a excellent job. I was really hoping this place would be my new eyebrow place but I was let down.

A hidden GEM!!! So I was at swift hospital getting my routine exam when I decided I wanted a facial. I Unilocaled and decided to go with Havanna due to the good reviews. I can say by my experience that I am officially done going to Mario Tricoci. Shayma did an amazing job!!! Yes it did hurt but if it didn’t then I know she wouldn’t have done a good job. Pain means a good extraction of pores!!! I was red as a tomatoe the day of but now it’s been 2 days and my skin is glowing!!! I also tried the lash extensions by Joel for the first time. OMG I’m in love. He was soo experienced! He did everything I read a lash expert should do. Gloves, mask, the whole package. The only downfall is that it got a little expensive $ 200 for lashes and $ 95 for facial but nonetheless I am def coming back.

1.) Please do not be late to your appointment. Unfortunately my mom and I were a little bit late but they still waited for us.
2.) First I did manicure and pedicure with Maria. Maria is a very nice person and is skilled in doing her job even though she has only worked at that location for 3 months. She is kind and considerate of the customers.
3.) I did waxing and threading by Shayma. Shayma is really good at her job. She gets all the hair you need taken off. If you are a bit sensitive to wax like I am, the wax they use at the Spa is good. During the waxing process, hair was removed in a hygienic manner. She also asked me if the waxing hurts. The process did not hurt. Nu-​free wax is better than Veet and Sally Hansen wax. Shayma is very experienced in the field. She is kind, hard-​working, and considerate of what the customers wants. She is also up to date on her knowledge and is also bi-​lingual. Shayma also can give you the best advice!
If you go to Havana Spa, I recommend Shayma for waxing and eyebrows and Maria for nails!
By the way if you look at the menu and think waxing or anything else is expensive, please consider that the wax used is expensive as well as other items needed for wax! Also if you go there, tip is greatly appreciated.

Came here for lash extensions. The place is very clean and professional. Front desk staff sat with me to evaluate my natural lashes to see which length was the best for me. The gentleman that did the lashes was very good. It is now approaching 6 weeks and I still have most of the lashes. I didn’t follow up for a fill because I didn’t feel like I needed it. Would come back for this treatment and maybe try them out for something else.

Brazilian Wax done by Sandra is the quickest and best you can get!
I’ve tried a few places for waxing to test the waters, but I am 100% only going to Sandra from now on. She not only is friendly and knowledgeable, but she gets the job done quickly, cleanly, and as close to pain-​free as you can get! Her products are top-​notch and she never double-​dips.
I love her! She’s worth it. I promise!

This was by far the best eye brow threading I’ve ever got – and I’ve been to many places around the city, some which I was loyal to, until now. I’ve found my new spot. The woman who did my threading kept my brows as full as possible, per my request, yet they came out so well shaped and natural. The process was extremely fast and pretty painless.
I’m looking forward to trying out some of the other services the spa offers, they have lots of nail colors! I will absolutely be going back for my threading services. I highly recommend, this service to both seasoned and new clients.

I’ve been regularly getting my lashes done here by Joel and I love them! I get them filled every two to three weeks.
The only dissatisfaction I’ve ever experienced was when I inquired about getting my brows dyed. I have black hair and unfortunately pale skin. I wanted my brows the same color as my hair but the colorist said that was too dark for my skin tone. She said the darkest she’d do is dark brown. So I didn’t get it done.
But I will continue to do my lashes. Five stars.

This review is based on my visit on ¹⁰⁄₃₁. My experience has ruminated with me since then.
I had a 1 pm appointment for eyebrow threading and a mani/​pedi based off a gift certificate I received. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment, and I barely had a greeting. I said that I had an appointment, and I was informed that their receptionist called in sick that day. The person who greeted me did not even check the appointment book. She just asked what services I was having. After taking me back, she did not even introduce herself.
We started with my eyebrows. That service went well, and I really liked the results. I could tell that she really knew what she was doing. Once that was done, she set up the water for my pedicure and asked me to have a seat. At the same time, another eyebrow came in. She went to take care of that client while I was soaking for almost 10 minutes. The other technicians were very anxious trying to fix appointments.
After 10 minutes, she began my pedicure. The pedicure was just okay. One point was given due to the great massage. She kept on leaving me during the service to help them with the appointment issues. They were also yelling across the salon regarding whatever the issue might be. You could tell everyone was overwhelmed.
My manicure was very good. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there. The weather was horrible, and I was just exhausted. I understand what occurred was probably not normal, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. The professionalism of the staff is to be desired.

I love Joel! I’ve been getting my lashes done by him since November 2013! He takes he’s time and does a wonderful job, I’m always getting compliments on how beautiful they look. I go back every 3 – 4 weeks and get my fills done and I wouldn’t have anyone else but Joel continue to do my lashes!

I’ll preface this review by saying that a) I’ve gotten eyelash extensions before from other places and b) I tried this place because of a ‘deal’ I got for a discounted full set of lashes.
So.
I got eyelash extensions here on a Monday before my Saturday wedding. The experience itself was fine — the salon was nice, front desk person was friendly, eyelash guy was quiet — fine experience overall.
I started losing lashes the day before my wedding, which I thought was strange. Eyelashes looked fine for the wedding, but already a little sparse on one eye. After that, I started losing lashes like CRAZY. Some of the lashes that came off had two or three of my natural eyelashes glued to just one fake lash. I was losing my natural lashes like crazy — it wasn’t just the fake ones falling off. By the time my honeymoon came around my eyelashes were just plain embarrassing. I sent the salon an email to tell them what was up, and even mentioned that I wanted to send them a personal email instead of taking my concerns to Unilocal,because I was so disappointed. That was weeks ago, and I never got a response.
So in a nutshell — my full set of eyelashes from this place barely lasted a week, they ripped out most of my natural lashes over the course of a couple of short weeks, I’m left with basically no real eyelashes and am currently looking into growth serums to correct all of the damage — and again, I’d gotten lash extensions done at other places and never had this kind of damage done. This place doesn’t respond to customer concerns and was definitely not worth it, even with the Lifebooker discount.

Let’s just put it this way… I felt like a sexy b**** walking out of this place once I got my eyebrows done… this lady knows what she’s doing.

I got lash extensions, the worse service ever. Everybody was kind of rude. I explain that what I want, what I got glue in the eyes, pinches by tweezer, different amount of lashes in each eyes, so my eyes look big and small !!! I even got lashes on my bottom eye lid !!! Unbelievable, when I asked for repair, I got bad Aditute !!!

I came here yesterday for the $ 35 mani pedi. From the moment I arrived the service was mediocre at best. During my pedicure the technician was so rough that at one point my sister asked her to be more careful based on the face that I was inadvertently making. Then, during my manicure the technician cut my cuticles so close that three of my fingers bled. When my sister was done with her pedicure and was ready to move to the manicure, her technician left her without any flip-​flops or any direction as to where to go for ten minutes at least. My sister had to ask another technician for flip-​flops so that she could sit down and begin the manicure. She was also unhappy with her manicure. It was very sloppy and she ended up with some polish on her fingers.
Then, when we were ready to leave we had trouble finding someone to let us pay. Even though $ 35 for the manicure pedicure during the week is a good deal I would not recommend it. If you’re looking for a way to treat yourself this place just isn’t it.

So I came here on a deal… what else is new?
Anyway, I got the full set of lashes.
It was super easy making the appointment over the phone.
The spa is located in the heart of Lincoln Square… man, I havent been up here in FO-​EV-​VA. It still looks the same. Still Brauhaus, etc. Still super easy street parking. Still lots of families.
Anyway, my appointment was at 11AM and yay to Havana to actually being open about 15 minutes before 11AM. I hate the early appointment when they show up when you do and you have to wait for them. I know its dumb, but I like a spa to be open when I get there…
Joel did my lashes and let me tell you… it was the fastest eye lash application that I ever had. It was like Jimmy John’s style… so fast you will freak! I probably went back to the room at about 1105 and he was done at 1153. Wow. Amaz.
Also, the application was pretty damn good. I would have like a little fuller, but overall, it was awes! And I paid less than half price! BOOM!
A friend did the LVL with tint for $ 55 for first timers and it looked great! I will be posting our before and after pics in a bit.
Overall, Havana Spa was a win. I would be interested in other specials, but I wouldnt pay full price since its out of my way, etc. Also, the spa is mediocre at best. It seems almost like an upscale nail place. I wouldnt go here to get great ambiance for anything else… but lashes, brows, nails… YES!

Are deep cleaning facials supposed to be vigorous and leave you exhausted? If so, them Shaymaa’s facial was perfect.
Although my face feels and looks good (only reason for a 3^rd star), the only relaxing moments were when she left the room. The extraction was unbelievably painful, the products were not applied gently, everything something was cleaned off it was done roughly and quickly. The few questions asked seemed forced and she tried to sell me some product at the end after no attempts to have a pleasant conversation.

I’ve come here twice for the LVL lash treatment and eyelash tint, and am in lurv. Seriously. I’ve had eyelash extensions a couple of times, but they don’t last long because the skin around my eyes is oily and worse than that, they’ve damaged my lashes. Lucky for me, the LVL and lash tint is enough to give me the look of extensions without any issues.
For those who don’t know, the LVL lash treatment is a perm, but it only curls your lashes at the lash line. Traditional perms use a roller, so sometimes the lashes will curl in on themselves and you end up looking… not good. With the LVL, since only the base of your lashes is curled, the rest stay long and straight, and you end up getting a very open, wide-​eyed look. Since I’m a redhead, I get a black tint and in the end I can pass for wearing falsies. Not bad for 45 minutes of sitting in a comfy chair.
I also love the customer service here. I’ve never had any issues booking appointments, and I’ve been super bad at using my deal site coupons at the last second, too. All the staff here is nice, and they remembered me after just one visit. This is a total treat for me, and usually ends up being one of those things I’ll promise myself if I work out X amount of times, but hey, it works!
