After a lifetime of being neat and organized, Sarah Giller Nelson opened Less is More in 2010. In 2014 the business expanded as professional organizers Kelly Brask and Nicole Colvin were brought on to help even more busy Chicago families get organized.

My name is Sarah Giller Nelson and I am organized. I experience a sense of calm when I walk into well-​ordered spaces. I enjoy feeling unencumbered. I always know where to find my keys.

As a professional organizer, I understand that the fine tuning of details can make a difference between chaos and calm. I take the time to carefully evaluate each client’s habits and needs, and then design a comprehensive organizational plan to create beautiful, well-​functioning spaces. My hands-​on organizing sessions put the plan into action. The results are dramatic and inspiring.

Our experience with Less is More was terrific! Kelly was patient but determined, and was able to keep me accountable about finishing several organizing jobs all the way. She also helped my husband be more selective about his many collections, and helped him feel confident about donating many, MANY items that needed to go.
I really appreciated the donation suggestions. I didn’t know where to take many of our old pieces of art, bags, baby items, etc. I felt wonderful about giving our things to people who really need them!
It’s been several weeks since she was here, and the organizing systems Kelly created are still working. We haven’t messed anything up yet!
I would absolutely recommend Less is More to anyone, and I know I will call on them again for future projects.

We moved last year, and at the time, we rushed to unpack our kitchen and put things away — but not necessarily with the best system in place. We have a 9-​year old son, so the kitchen is also homework central, backpack storage, Diary of a Wimpy Kid library… not to mention husband-​ebay-​old-​electronics command center. I spend half of my free time rearranging piles to make myself feel better, but I really needed some outside help. Kelly came last week and spent a few hours with me, and we made a tremendous amount of progress. Rather than suggest I spend a fortune at the Container Store, she made use of what I had and helped get things in order, and she suggested systems to help reign in the chaos. It was a great use of time and money, and I highly recommend Less is More!

I met Sarah a few weeks after we moved into our renovated house. She tackled the basement, which I was way too scared to approach on my own and helped me think through the problem areas, like mudroom closets and kids clothes. Three months after my two sessions with Sarah I can say that they had a huge impact on my home and my happiness and it is one of the best investments I’ve made in my home. My dining room is large and serves several functions including home office, my son’s arts & crafts, and, yes, dining. The arts and crafts had gotten out of control and were making the whole room feel stressful. Sarah got quickly to work – she’s very decisive and also very good at listening and personalizing the experience. She set up an aesthetically-​pleasing system for us out of things we already had. It has been a breeze for us to keep up and my five-​year-​old son enjoys the autonomy it gives him. She also organized our playroom and I am planning on using her for a few more projects in the fall. I feel her services are one of the best uses of my home improvement budget.

I was doing my research online for a professional organizer. I came across Less is More and was attracted to the sleek website so I read through the site and made a call to inquire about details.
Sarah was prompt in returning my call and making appropriate suggestions for what I needed. It was obvious she’s committed to helping people get organized and receives a great deal of satisfaction in helping others. I felt listened to and then provided with the right «program» for what I needed.
Sarah is the quintessential professional. I hired her company to work with my teenage daughter and «her space» and then I worked with her personal to get my routine organized and she walked through my house and provide amazing ideas for greater organization which will provide greater ease in getting things done more efficiently. I continue to meet with Sarah to follow up on progress, work on time management. I couldn’t recommend her and her company, Less is More, more emphatically.

We worked with Sarah to help us wrap our heads around the never ending clutter of toys. She was amazing. Within 3 hours we had decluttered more than any other time in our lives. She showed us what was important, what should be placed where and the importance of «labeling». Only 3 days later and our kids are playing with more toys than they ever did b/​c it is not a stimulation overload when they walk in the playroom. We reclaimed some adult space back and enjoying the open space we had prior to kids. Highly recommend her. You never think that you need «organizing» but having someone look from the outside in makes a huge difference and she was great to bring reality to what was really needed to what could be sold/​donated!

Sarah has been a huge help. Thanks to her I have a whole home! I had moved recently, and my home office was more a giant closet full of boxes and «stuff». She came over for an assessment, gave me a list of items to accomplish (such as shelving) and then came back several weeks later and in three hours my office went from a tripping hazard to a complete room! Just in time for school to start :-). Less really is more.

Sarah came to our home almost two months ago to alleviate my horrible and mushrooming clutter problem. After walking through the whole house, she and I decided to tackle the kitchen first. I was amazed by how quickly she was able to really make things more efficient for me. AND, because of the user friendly system she designed, it has been a piece of cake for us to maintain what she set up.
She also left me with a number of tips, ideas and more importantly positive momentum and 8 weeks later, the first and second floors are really looking great. Now, I’m having her come back in a few weeks to help me tackle the basement.
