Best Sushi in Loop area, our company had a couple catering services from this place. Everyone liked the food and excellent services as well

I sushi is a part of «Fooda» that comes by my company during lunch hour from time to time. Their sushi is fresh and yummily every single time. June makes a roll that everyone should try!!!(pictured). Get some sushi, and you will keep coming back for more! I LOVESUSHI!!!

The udon here is awful. Noodles are stale and soup flavor is sour. I’m afraid to try the sushi, better pass.

I’m not a sushi aficionado, but I work in the building and this is a great spot for a good lunch special. Bento box comes with an entrée of choice(chicken tempura, tofu, etc), salad, soup, sushi and rice. Around $ 8 – 9, a lot of bang for your buck. The chicken was fantastic, I also recently started eating tofu more and this place excels at it! There’s is a golden fried tofu with teriyaki to boot. Definitely support this place if you work in the IL center or are visiting at the Hyatt. The staff is super friendly and basically every time I’ve went they’re offering free samples of their sushi!

RUNAWAYASFASTASYOUCAN. I have come here several times since I started working in Illinois Center. Most of the time, it’s average. Lukewarm, but fine. It’s never made me sick. Today was my last visit. Disgusting. They had free samples that were actually warm. That, and I ate a bite of shrimp tempura before realizing the gastrointestinal tract was still in tact. FULLY. They make no effort to remove it, and I can only assume it’s the same for all of their products. For those who don’t know, that’s actually a tube of shrimp sh*t. This place clearly does not know how to handle seafood appropriately. And if they can’t get cooked shrimp right, I’m horrified to think of what goes on with their raw fish. FOULFOULFOUL.

Staff was pretty friendly. Attentive but after seeing my fire roll being blow torched right on the top of the viewing glass(counter) I lost interest. Ok I know that’s how it’s supposed to be prepared, but hey, is the propane smell needed? I got to my table to finally get my sushi craving fix, first bite in and it was just too sweet and mushy/loose. I prefer my roll to have a clean feel in my mouth. This just was not the roll that my palate was understanding. Anyway, I’ve had fresher sushi from Marianos! Its true stick away from the«specials» its just another way for restaurants to get rid of not so fresh products. My experience here made me lose my love for sushi but I know within time I will go back and give it another chance. Lets hope that the second time around will be better or else, I will go to Marianos or even the Walgreens on Randolph and State(hahaha) for«sushi».

I was working in Illinois Center today and had a taste for sushi. This is a very small carry out only place next to Subway that looked good to try. I was disappointed to see that they use imitation crab. I don’t do imitation, so I stayed away from all of those rolls. But I ordered two; the spicy ebi shrimp tempura roll and the fire roll, and both were very good. The spicy ebi was large, tasty, and just the right amount of spice. The fire roll was good as well. I would eat here again, staying away from the crab.

I’ve been here a few times, and I’ve always gotten the same thing: Kappa and avocado roll. It’s always fine and pretty cheap. Today, however, the sushi bar attendant told the new cashier to charge me 7.99, while the posted price is 5.99. He didn’t know what I ordered, and he asked the cashier what it was in Spanish. When I complained that it said 5.99 on the menu, he said it was a 2.00 charge for brown rice, which was not posted anywhere or communicated to me when I ordered it with brown rice. Ridiculous.

I have never given 1 star before… in fact, I’ve never given below 3 stars, but today the sushi I picked up from this place pushed me to it. This is the second time I got sushi from I Love Sushi. The first time I got their special fire dragon roll, and it was mediocre at best. Today I opted for something simple. a spicy tuna roll. Epic fail. It was about 80% rice to 20% tuna, and after my first piece I threw it away. The tuna was some of the fishiest, foulest fish I have ever eaten. Luckily for me there are a million other lunch spots to choose from in the city.

Holy! This place just had a pop-up shop for the day in our office building’s lobby. I got the signature Fire Roll. I’m definitely a fan. Just the right amount of crunch, sweetness and spicy kick. The fish is fresh and the rice is nice and chewy. I’ll definitely walk out of my way for this again.

Awful awful awful. The money I spent on the teriyaki chicken would have been better spent boiling rubber, drowning it in too salty teriyaki, and eating it. It would have been the same experience and better flavor for a cheaper cost.

Came here for lunch and would probably be back due to its proximity to my office. Not the best sushi in the world, but definitely suited my lunchtime needs. Good value for the price paid. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Note to self: don’t get sushi from a place called«I Love Sushi.» It’s like the equivalent of buying produce from a gas station. I got a very basic California roll — that’s not hard to mess up, right? Wrong. The crab was soft(and there was far too much of it) and the avocado was brown. They gave me a DAB of wasabi and barely any ginger so I couldn’t even cleanse my palate between rolls and try to forget about what I just tasted before diving into the next. I didn’t want to waste the $ 7, after all. There are far better sushi joints in Chicago — I recommend just about any of them.

Not fresh. Mediocre soup. Seaweed tasted fishy. This place doesn’t deserve 4 stars. Very misleading reviews for this place.

Don’t let the looks of this place deceive you — the Sushi is great and the price is even better. Other stuff here are OK, but stick with the sushi.

$ 10 got me seaweed salad, edamame, miso soup, ½ banana with some tomatoes, ½ california roll, and ½ tempura roll! Not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but close by for $ 10 that I can walk in and pick up for lunch at work is fantastic.

Do you love sushi? If you do, and you work near 233 N. Michigan get your butt over to I Love Sushi. Everything is super fresh and their crab tempura fire roll satiates my sushi cravings. I’ve also had a few of their bentos and have no complaints.

Literal lol to Jerry J’s review that this is the best sushi in Chicago. What? Have you literally never been to any other sushi places here? Sorry bro, don’t mean to hate but this«sushi to go» place is just ok at best. Staff is friendly, and helped me make the selection of tempura crab fire roll. It was sizeable, and a little over $ 9, but I’m not sure if the crab meat was real or not? Don’t get me wrong, any rolls that are fried and have special sauce are usually pretty tasty. Obviously this roll is not recommended for the health conscious! Most of the other sushi comes in prepackaged containers, but they do have alternate items on their menu. Next time, I’ll probably try the more affordable bento box. Until then I love sushi!

I can’t comment too much on their sushi but I had one of their chicken plates for lunch today and it was pretty horrible. The spicy chicken was anything but spicy and more bland than anything else. On the bright side, the salad was fine and miso soup ok as well. The little sushi roll that came with my lunch was tasty. So… maybe stick to sushi here? Maybe Ill try a roll on my next visit.
