OK I admit I’m a little late with this update/follow-up…I sometimes procrastinate but here I am one and a half years later to say not only did these good people at Guy & Sons install the grille but they refused to charge me for the installation… that’s unbelievable!!! As I recall he finally accepted $ 5 for a cup of Starbucks. So of course I am bumping this review up to five star status. Also several months after that they repaired a damaged license plate holder for me by removing the old one and drilling new holes into the grille so the rubberized license plate frame that I had purchased somewhere else would stay nice and tight against the bumper. It was dirty, grimy work but maybe I could have done it myself if I had a drill and didn’t mind getting dirty. Anyhow it looked seamless when completed and he only charged me $ 25 for his expertise. All in all a great experience every time I’ve gone there.

I recently had an accident was referred to Guys and Sons Auto Rebuilders. I had to get cosmetic work done to the front of the car and the whole process was easy and stress free. The Customer Service was excellent and repairs were done quick. They put me in contact with a rental car service and answered any questions that I had.
I would recommend this Auto Shop to others.

Dan made my morning! I rolled into the shop around 6:30am on a Friday morning looking to have some scratches removed from my bumper. He said Friday mornings are busy for him, but agreed to squeeze me in before I had work at 9 am. I got the car back at 8am, and it looked brand new! He really provided some excellent service and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring back any car in the future!

My first review about this place is «Some How» not showing up. Looks like «Someone» is doing this on purpose to hide the truth. Stay away from this place.

This shop is incredible. They fixed paint scratches right away and were very nice people. I will be returning.

I’ve taken my car to Dan and the team at Guy & Sons 3 – 4 times and can’t say enough good things about the service, quality of the job, and timeliness. They’re very straight-​forward and communicative about the repairs needed. And a much better value compared to other body shops nearby. After getting into a fender bender recently, they replaced the hood of my car in 2 days and even replaced a small broken part in my trunk free of charge. I highly recommend these guys!

So I finally got a chance to bring these guys some real business. I was rear ended and this guy did a pretty serious number on my car. Several panels had to be replaced and it really was quite a bit of work. Luckily the other guy’s insurance allowed me to take my car back to Guy & Sons and I came right back in. After they assessed it, they did a quick inventory, talked to the insurance and booked me in a couple days later. It was a long two weeks or so without my car, but the communication was great, service was excellent and my car looks even better than before it was hit. Totally painless.

Fantastic body shop where the whole process from estimate, to the completion of the work was a breeze. I was able to drop off my car before work, and pick it up at lunch time. Dan was also very knowledgeable and helpful.

This body shop is fantastic! I first had my car repaired over two years ago. They did a good job, But I noticed a small chip in the paint a week after. I called the shop and they said bring it in and they will take care of it. Well, Just prior to taking my car in I had a garage door close on my bumper and cause a lot of scratches/​scuffs. When I took my car in they took care of that as well and did not charge anything!
Fast forward to this week, I decided to install a DYI trailer hitch that is bolt on. Well… One of the bumper brackets was repaired in a way that it did not allow the hitch to be installed. I stopped by today and showed them my problem, they said no problem and they will take care of it. In fact, they installed the hitch for me as well. I will definitely be coming back if I need any more work done. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants great customer service and fantastic work to be done.

Took my jeep here to replace the spare tire holder on the back after it was damaged when someone stole the tire. They were very helpful and very quick! And even after they had put the wrong tire on the back, they replaced it with the correct one with no problems. It looks great! I would definitely suggest Guy and Sons to anyone needing auto body repairs!

My initial impression was very positive of this body shop based off of the reviews and I assume that the technicians do an excellent job with what they have been trained to do. I brought the car in previously for an estimate and he put a patch of pain on a rusting portion of the dent for free!
I recently called the body shop asking if the estimate was negotiable and if we could work on or split the difference between what the insurance company would right a check for and what the body shop’s repair estimate was. Not necessarily an unreasonable request and also not something I was expecting to get… just wondering.
What was Dan Pascale (the body shop’s appraiser)‘s response? «Call me back July 7… and he subsequently hung up on me.
I called back to clarify I did not intend to offend anyone… and he stated in an elevated tone of voice «LOOK WE ARE NOT FIXING YOUR CAR GO TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND FIND ANOTHER PLACE THAT’S IT END OF DISCUSSION»…and hung up.
I understand the fellow may not have taken an academic course on customer service or received public relations training of any sort, but that was fairly obnoxious. I was willing to pay the difference for the quality of work I have heard about but no I will not entertain someone so rude on the phone.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. HONEST. KNOWLEDGEABLE. QUALITY WORK.
These guys were fantastic…
They understand:
…that people work and are busy. They open early, so I was able to drop my car off before work and be on my way. They were quick to estimate and repair. No hassles or pitches for unnecessary repairs.
…that not everyone is a car genius. They did not talk down to me when I did not understand what needed to be done with my car.
…that everyone is fed up with being ripped off. Wow… honesty and quality work. This aspect shouldn’t be a surprise, but it is in this fraudulent world.
…many other… Soooo happy I went with Guys & Sons and that it is a State Farm approved place. I may still be battling with the jerk that rear-​ended my car and blamed it on me (RUUUUUUUDE), but I don’t have to worry about my poor car anymore and it looks good as new!

Tom and Dan — RESPECT.
My Toyota Prius had its bumper ripped off by a trailer hitch — off to the body shop. No insurance involved, as there was no damage to the trailer hitch.
LOCATION — Downtown, in West Loop — very convenient for dropping off if you work in the city.
SERVICE — I got an estimate on a Monday, got it scheduled and in the shop the next Monday, got the car back on Tuesday afternoon, as promised, and good as new. OEM parts, no structural.
COST — the same bumper work, estimated by the competition, was about $ 400 more, and would have taken longer (two weeks to get in). They even touched up a scrape I put on the front corner — no charge.
SHOP LOCAL — What’s great about these guys is that they are LOCAL. They have plenty of work, and plenty of accolades, which gets them more work. No nonsense, do a great job for a great price so you can go do important things, like take a visit from your daughter in the middle of the day.
REALLY? SO ANY REAL ISSUES? — If anything, which is not a big deal, they close at 3PM, and only take estimates from 6:30AM until 11AM (or something like that), so you need to plan your day to get your car (early or in the middle of the afternoon).
Guy & Sons are great at their job, but they are not married to it (close at 3PM). I hope I don’t wreck my car again, but I know where I want to spend my dough.

Just wanted to write a quick review after getting my car back from the shop. So I had an unfortunate incident with a pole. It seriously came out of nowhere! At least, that what I tell myself. Anyway, after shopping around for the best deal I came upon Guy & Sons. It’s tucked away on Van Buren and it’s a family run business. I saw the great reviews and they gave me the most reasonable estimate. One guy (at a body shop that shall remain unnamed) tried to charge me $ 400 more than the estimate I got at Guy & Sons! Oh, AND they were going to do an inferior paint job. I guess you have to be wary when you’re a woman since some people will equate that with ignorance when it comes to cars. I know when I’m being played, so there was no way that business was going to get my money.
Dan gave me a quick estimate, fast turnaround time (I cannot be without a car due to my job), and a decent price. The end result was like having a brand new car! They even vacuumed and washed it for me. Overall, very painless process with no fuss. Now I wish I wouldn’t have had the run in with the pole, especially around christmas time, but that’s my fault. Thanks for a great experience, Guy and Sons!

When it’s a Hyundai Elantra vs a U-​Haul truck, your Elantra usually ends up on the losing end. So, after dealing with insurance, estimates and finally getting a check in the mail. I made the decision to take it to Guy & Sons. It was one I do not regret.
There was no need for an appointment when I took it in for an estimate. In about 10 mins I was in and out the door. Dan was extremely nice and helpful.
When it was time to take it in for the repairs, I spoke to Dan to see if the there was any way to lower the price from the initial estimate (getting married soon, money disappearing into thin air) he went back to reassess the damage and was able to give me a better price. I handed him the keys and he told me it would be ready in 3 days.
Fast forward to the 3^rd day. I received a call that the car was ready. Zoomed up there from work. Car was sitting in the lot, freshly washed and looking like new. There was no way in telling that it was ever in any sort of accident. Perfect. On top of that, they also repaired a few other dings in the rear bumper that had nothing to do with the accident, at no extra charge.
I can’t say I want to take my car there again any time soon, but if it comes down to it, Guy & Sons is the only place I will do so.

I would like to join my voice to the chorus of 5-​star reviewers for Guy & Sons. I had a minor accident over the weekend and ended up with a severely scratched up BMW 330i (rear door, rear fender area). Luckily it was only paint and no damage to the metal. I checked out Unilocal and found this business… I happen to live in the West Loop area so I had seen it before, but it seemed so quiet, with little activity (at least that was noticeable).
Well, I took the car there first thing Monday (they open at 6:30AM!) and Dan, the gentleman at the front desk, took a look at the damage and gave me a quote on the spot. Reasonable estimate, both cost and time. He said the car would be done by Wednesday in the AM. Right as promised, he called me and I went to pick up the car. They did a PHENOMENAL job: paint perfectly matched, smooth, shiny. I cannot emphasize this enough — a top rate job in repairing the scratches!
So if you have an auto body repair need, and you are within striking distance of the West Loop, by all means, take your car to Guy & Sons. You will NOT be disappointed!

Never go anywhere else.
The gentleman at the front desk looked at my car and fixed it within 10 minutes. Didn’t need an appointment or an estimate. Oh, and everything was absolutely free!

Guy & Sons originally fixed my rear bumper after a semi bumped me in stop and go traffic. Fast, quality work, very competitive price.
The 5 stars were earned when I stopped in this morning to have my front bumper looked at. There were huge white circles in the paint, making me think something had corroded it down to the primer. The damage extended up to the hood and was totally inexplicable, since there was no impact. I had tried for almost 2 hours to clean it myself.
He took one glance, returned with a bottle of muriatic acid and wiped all of the «damage» right off! It seriously made my day. He said it was just lime stain that had coated the front of the car (probably because I park underground), and anywhere else would have dinged me for $ 800 to fix it.
Amazing service!

When an idiot decided not to pay attention when he was backing out and hit me, my insurance company referred me to Guy and Sons. And I’m glad they did!
The estimate took 5 minutes and I didn’t even make an appointment. The price on the estimate was extremely reasonable, and I was promised to have the vehicle back in about 3 days.
Dan is truly the man! Not only was he able to repair the damage in less than a day, it cost significantly LESS than what was estimated! (He was able to repair the damaged piece instead of replacing it-​my quarterpanel had just been pushed in). They also got the knicks out of my car and washed it.
You couldn’t tell I had been hit by someone that wasn’t paying attention.
