Growing Home sells organic and local produce at the Green City Market (May — October in Lincoln Park between Stockton and Clark, November — April at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum); at the Wood Street Urban Farm Stand (May — October at 5814 S. Wood Street, Chicago); at the Les Brown Memorial Farm Stand (May — October at 2539 N. 30th Road, Marseilles); and through a Chicago area Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program.

History

Established in 1996.

Growing Home provides transitional employment and training to Chicagoans who have multiple barriers to employment. Through a social enterprise business based on organic agriculture our job training program assists individuals in securing permanent and unsubsidized employment.

Growing Home has three urban farm sites on the South Side of Chicago, and a 10 acre farm in LaSalle County, IL. All four sites our USDA Certified Organic.
