I struggled with whether I would write this review after being persuaded by the salon to remove the other one but seeing as how I don’t believe the expectations of our agreement were met I will write a new one.
I’m reminded of the severe heat damage everyday when I look at my thinning and much shorter hair due to the breakage. I’m still contemplating cutting it all off due to the damage I believe I received while at the salon. I would not recommend this place or any of the stylists. I found them to not be accountable for their actions and their «promises» to be misleading. I cannot believe that any salon would allow one of their clients to suffer through this transition and expect them to pay for services to rectify the damage the salon inflicted. Good luck to anyone who continues to go here.

Got a cut with Israel, loved it. He did a perfect job, gave me exactly what I asked for. The blowout at the end was great, and he styled me well too. It’s a no-​frills type of interior, but the whole experience was quick and casual which I loved. I’ll definitely be going back!

Really bad experience. There is a reason for the reviews. This is only my second review, but I felt very obligated to share my experience in the hopes it won’t happen to you! Dahla called me the morning of and asked me to come earlier and I agreed. I had never met him before and the first thing he says is did you move your appointment back, you’re late. I showed up at 4:15, my appointment was at 4:30. He didn’t introduce himself or shake my hand. Had a horrible attitude. We talked about my hair for 10 minutes. I showed pictures and was specific. He goes you seem like someone who is particular so I want to get it right. I asked for a balagaye with my natural fading into a clean blonde. Instead he took one color and painted my entire head to my root. Then at the end reprimanded me that I didn’t book a cut when I did and they he sloppily, very rudely chopped my hair. Not to mention, I had to make a call when he was washing my hair and he deliberately spray my phone. Words cannot express how bad this experience was. At the end he splashed on color with his hands saying he was brightening the ends. What I ended with was yellow/​red hair. The other stylists at the salon agree with my observations. I was very professional, but all the while he was argumentative, never apologized and insisted it as my fault. Bottom line he is not good and his attitude makes him worse. The owner called me that night and I was impressed but then he tried to shove me off on his assistant and was non responsive. All in all I wouldn’t go here again and will forewarn the hood. Beware!!! Pictures to follow. I went to a reputable salon today to get it fixed. They were blown away by the dye job.

I’ll go back and give it another try because the price is nice and it’s close by. I had two pictures that I used to show the gentlemen what I wanted — volume and large/​wide curls. When he was down, there was little volume and tiny curls. I have a lot of hair, volume has never been an issue and I have long hair so wide curls are doable. After I finally saw what he did and mentioned it, he just sprinkled some white stuff on the top of my had that was supposed to help with the volume. I don’t remember his name but will make sure that if/​when I try them again, I will go to someone else.

I walked in and was instantly greeted with a stylist that understood my crazy, thick, and wavy hair. Additionally, he was able to get my hair to curl (and stay in curls) which is near impossible at most other salons I’ve gone to — All that for $ 25 ?! I’m so impressed!

I love this place and think that the $ 25 blowouts are a bargain. I love my stylist. I barely want to give her a shout out, because I am afraid everyone will book her. Ariel is awesome! She does an excellent job with my hair. She is friendly, sweet and an overall good stylist.
I have been coming here off and on for a year and this place is a million times better than Drybar, DreamDry and any other blow out place. I only go here for the blow outs, so I can’t say how anything else is here.

Not pleased at all. I have never had a blowout before and never will again. I got a lazy wash with hardly any lather. Had I not gotten it curled, it would have looked terrible, no style at all when drying it like normal salons do. The curl was pathetic and I had straight pieces everywhere. They put no product in my hair before or after the dry and didn’t even offer. Thanks, I’ll have to go home and re-​style.

I have had my fair share of stylists/​colorists at varying price points over the years (been in search of my perfect blonde since 1993) but I have to say I have never been as happy with my hair as I am now! Sam (the owner) took my multi color hair with box color roots and gave me the blonde I have dreamt of for years! He’s amazing … And doesn’t keep me in the salon all day! How is that possible? Great work in minimal time!!! He’s a genius! Love him! Love my hair! (Btw my hair takes work to be blonde … I’m Latina!) Love you Sam

Best Blowout I’ve ever had! I took my mother to treat her to get our hair done for my rehearsal dinner! My mother was glowing she was so happy! We got so many compliments how great our hair looked!

Absolutely love this place and the staff! They never let me down. $ 25 for an amazing blow dry? You seriously can’t beat that. Keep it up Griffith Parc!

I have been to this place 2 times.
–1^st time the stylist asked if I wanted something to drink so I asked for coffee and her response was that they had it but she would have to make it. Like it was an inconvenience to her when she offered a drink. She did do a great job on my hair and she made me coffee so no big deal.
–2^nd time around with another stylist I was not offered a drink but I didn’t really care anyways. The bowls they wash your hair in hurt your neck. Didn’t notice that the first time. Then after the lady was done washing my hair she just combed it out and started blow drying without asking what kind of style I was looking for. Kinda weird. After a few minutes I let her know I wanted waves. Then I noticed my chair was very wobbly. Considering she was pulling on my hair/​combing it to dry it the chair got even more annoying the longer I sat in it. Whatever. Then I went to check out and the lady at the desk told me the price was 25 dollars. I asked if they had any packages and I was told I could get 5 blow outs for 125. Wait how is that a deal? Oh she then said you get one free. Okay that makes sense now 6 for 125. I will go back because of the price. You can’t beat it and my hair did turn out great but they have some kinks to iron out.

The worst customer service experience!
I booked an appointment with a certain sylist, who I had been recommended to see, only to show up on the day of the appointment to find out I had been «transferred» to another stylist for my appoinment. The haircut and style was just ok. But afterwards, the more I thought about the change in the appointment (without apology or explanation), the more upset I got about the complete lack of customer-​focus. I went to the business’ website and wrote an email to management about my experience… and, to this day, I have never received a response, apology or acknowledgement.
With so many amazing salons in Chicago… and many of them in the Bucktown area… I say: stay away from this place who doesn’t value its customers and give your money to another business who cares.

My (2) experiences have been nothing short of amazing. My first time going here & meeting the owner, Sam and his entire staff was great. So friendly, I drank wine with them and chatted like long-​time friends and got a beautiful blow-​out/​style. 1 week later, I went back for the Brazillian Blowout. IT CHANGED MY LIFE. I have thick/​fine/​frizzy hair. It doesn’t matter if I straighten it or not, the slightest bit of humidity — it curls, frizzes & is HUGE. I have never been able to just get out of the shower and let it air dry– it will frizz up, kink and be a disaster. I seriously plan my schedule around my hair; when I can wash it, what days I have to wear it up, what is the weather going to be like, etc. So Tuesday night I got this Brazillian from Sam and the next day I took a shower, put NO product in and just let my hair air-​dry to see if this was the real deal. Well– it is. It dried with NO frizz, no fly-​aways by my roots, and even had a very slight, SOFT, beach wave. I cried. Legitimately cried. The next day I then woke up, showered and blow dried my hair with my FINGERS, not a round brush, and it was styled and done in 7 minutes.
My life has forever changed and I can only thank Griffith Parc. I am also forever indebted to them, because now every 4 months I am going to go broke (but it’s so worth it!!)

Got a blowout before an afternoon wedding — as I left the salon it looked incredible but it was no match for about an hour’s worth of humidity…
The online scheduling system made the appointment easy, my stylist, Christopher, was friendly, and for the brief moments before Mother Nature flattened it, the blowout looked great. For $ 25, I’ll be back, but prepared with a bit more hairspray.

Quick, affordable blowouts that look great to boot? Yes, it is possible and I found it at Griffith Parc Salon. I have unrelaxed, natural hair and finding someone to style it can be a Sisyphean task. That was until I found Griffith Parc. The stylist are talented and professional, and the owner is super nice.

I’ve been working with Sam now over 3 years. I was originally introduced to Griffith Parc Salon by a referral. Sam and his entire team are extremely talented, polite & professional. I’m not «hair savvy» to know what works best with my hair for styling purposes, cut & color, but Sam did!!! He has surprised me every appointment by putting more lustrous rich colors in my hair that I now couldn’t see my style without. Highly recommend this salon for blow outs and more.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon, and was helped by Richie. I must say it was my best hair experience ever! Richie is such a professional and talented stylist, the staff in general while I was there was really sweet. I’ve never felt so comfortable in letting just anybody taking control in changing my hair, but I left this place feeling extremely pleased with my new hair cut and color it was better then I imagined. He is definitely now my go-​to guy for anything that pertains to my gorgeous hair that he created. This man works magic ladies trust me you won’t be displeased!

Here comes the blunt honesty…
I am indebted to Chris for the most fantastic color and cut. Since moving to Chicago, I have been very hesitant to trust any and all stylists with my hair because I am picky and particular. Chris is magic. To this day I am so happy with the color and the cut he gave me weeks ago.
With that said, my initial visit I came for a blow out to test the waters. Since Chris was overbooked, I was offloaded to Dallah. I echo previous reviews in that it was arguably the worst salon experience I have ever had… Including the aggressive hair handling, scalp-​burning anxiety that left me so dissatisfied I swore I would never step foot in the place again.
I gave it second chance, with Chris and boy, am I glad i did. Chris was my saving grace. He is pure talent, especially with blondes. I cannot thank him enough for totally delivering and changing my perception of this place.

I will admit that I actually had two really good blowouts here. But I bought a Gilt City deal for 3 and never redeemed the last blowout due to my overall experience at this salon.
As everyone else has mentioned, the staff is extremely rude. The girl at the front desk is terrible. The second time I came in was the worst. At first she ignored me. When she finally decided to acknowledge my existence, I complimented her nail polish (it was nice!) and she completely brushed me off. Ok… I won’t say anything nice?
I had the same stylist twice. The first time he was fine — and the only one to not chime in on the conversation with all the other rude, gossipy stylists (and clients… where do these people come from?). I decided to come back to him again because he did a really good job with my hair and was the only person in that place who seemed remotely friendly. However, my second experience with him was completely different. He maybe said about 4 words to me the whole time. I understand he may have been having a bad day. We all do. Still, he was late and never apologized. And he made zero effort to be friendly at all. I’ve worked plenty of service jobs and have always at least tried to seem pleasant.
Did I mention that the salon is super unorganized and dirty? The back part where they wash hair is a mess.
Yes, the blowouts are decent and only $ 25. But I don’t care how cheap the service is if I’m going to be treated like crap. Next time I’ll pay $ 10 more to get blowout at a salon where they treat me like a valued customer.
