Fabian & Son Heating and Air Conditioning

I’ve used these guys for the past 6 years to service my HVAC unit and they’ve been great. I’ve always dealt with Mike in person (though spoken with a few different people on the phone) and he is nice, professional and honest. He’s mostly just done regular maintenance work, but he has troubleshot a couple of issues (including «why is there only lukewarm air blowing out of my heater?») Their pricing is a good value, and I’d recommend them to anyone. I’m sad I moved to LA and can’t use them any more!

These guys got my dryer vents cleaned in great fashion. They had a nice strong 25ft brush which pushed the lint in the dryer vents out which cut our dryer time in half. They thoroughly cleaned the dryer vent and resealed it very well. I would recommend them.

We did not get work done with them (*we are just outside their service area). However, I contacted 5 or 6 HVAC technicians seeking advice on a home inspection report (we are trying to buy a condo) and the possible costs and problems that could go wrong with the lack of return air vents in the bedrooms. They gave a very detailed explanation and they were the only ones to do so. Highly recommend!

Matthew and Alfredo came out to clean my dryer vents and to clean/​check the furnace in preparation for the winter. Scheduling was a breeze, the technicians were prompt, tidy, efficient, and extremely reasonably priced. Couldn’t have asked for more! I will definitely be recommending Fabian & Son and will use them in the future for sure.

Fabian & Sons is a very solid HVAC company. Needed ac work done as unit was not cooling. Mike came out within 24 hrs, was on time and diagnosed the problem immediately. I got the ac fixed super quick at a reasonable cost. I have used 3 – 4 HVAC companies over the years and none have been as competent nor as reasonable as Fabian & Sons. I have no upside on leaving a positive review other than knowing if you give them a chance, you will not be disappointed.

We’ve used multiple HVAC companies around town for servicing our furnace and air. When it came time to replace both the units due to age and efficiency, we were referred to Fabian & Son by a friend who is a realtor and landlord. I’m glad we did.
Their quote was easily 30% lower than the other bids and the crew that came out to do the installation were on-​time, communicative, considerate and really professional. Our main point of contact during the install was Orest, who was simply awesome. He took time to walk me through the system after the installation and answered all of my questions. Could not be happier.

I hired Fabian & Son to install a stove exhaust hood that vents through the roof. They were on-​time, very professional and went above and beyond what was asked of them. All for a very fair price than was much less than what I was quoted from others.

I have used Fabian and Sons for the past 3 years for my heating and cooling needs and they are without question the most professional, courteous and fair specialized service for household issues I’ve ever encountered.
Fabian has serviced two of our condos and all work has been well done.
They take care of my yearly checkups and have done the following work:
1) Fixed ignition issue in our first condo that other specialists could not figure out
2) Fixed A/​C last summer after the blower gave out
3) Installed humidifier on current unit
The office staff is helpful, Mike is prompt and full of information, and Orest, my newest tech is fantastic.

So thankful for this company! They are professional, honest, competent, and priced very fairly. I have used them multiple times but the last time I called them it was because I had no heat in freezing weather and they worked me into the schedule and got my boiler working again. Great company, great people!!!

Scheduled an 11:30am appointment on a Tuesday to have a technician come look at our AC/​furnace bc our carbon monoxide detector was going off.
No show, no call, nothing. Waited until noon and then proactively called them. They said told me my «timing was impeccable», which I found ironic since their timing was obviously terrible.
Was then asked if I had «time constraints»…at 11:30am…on a Tuesday. Why, yes, I do have time constraints in the middle of a workday.
Wasted more than an hour of my time coming home from work, waiting for a no-​show technician, and having zero communication from Fabian & Son.

We live in a vintage condo building with two Spacepak units. One of them was not cooling our apartment.
I called 5 – 6 HVAC companies and ultimately decided to go with Fabian & Son based on their excellent reviews. I’m very glad I did.
The technician that came out was excellent. He patiently explained to us what the problems might be and refilled our unit with refrigerant.
If you have similar issues as us (unit blowing hot air), I would call around to get specific pricing on refrigerant. Prices quoted can vary from $ 30 per pound to $ 125 per pound. In our case, we ended up needing several pounds of refrigerant and Fabian & Son has very good pricing on that.
I was very happy with the service, I came away more knowledgeable.

My furnace started having problems last night so this morning I called Fabian and Son after reading the amazing Unilocal reviews. They told me they’d have someone out in a couple hours and right on schedule I had a phone call from Orest telling me he was on his way. He arrived shortly after and was incredibly friendly and very polite. He set me at ease, explaining to me what was wrong and walking me through what to do if future problems arise.
I cannot believe how easy and pleasant the entire process was. Last night my furnace wasn’t working and now at 10:30am the next day it is! It doesn’t get any better than that. I wouldn’t hesitate to call up Fabian and Son in the future!

I called about my furnace not kicking off the fire, usually this is due to the flame detector. However, the flame didn’t even kick off so I suspected the igniter is the problem. We spoke on the phone, quoted for part and labor. Fabian&Son came out at the exact time, confirmed the issue, replaced the part, gave some tips. All came lower than I expected.

I have used Fabian and Son on three occasions now so I feel qualified to write a fair review.
1. Need a new humidifier installed because I noticed my wood floors were starting to crack. I called around and Fabian and Son had the best price so I went with them. The technician (Orest) was fantastic… very polite and skilled.
2. I called Fabian and Son a second time to help diagnose a pinging sound coming from my vents. Orest came out and talked me through a couple of options that we could try to eliminate the issue. I was only charged the one hour visit fee which I felt was fair. Orest mentioned that adding another vent was another option we could try but he would need to come back out with the right materials. We decided to table the idea until I was able to determine if our first action fixed the pinging noise issue (caused by change in temperature in the duct because of poor insulation).
3. Last night my furnace stopped working so I called Fabian and Son at 6:00 AM and left a voicemail. Mike returned my call within 90 minutes and at 9:00 Orest was onsite fixing the issue. Turned out to be a bad ignitor which was quickly fixed. The best part is that when Orest came today, he remembered the previous duct noise issue and brought the material to install a new duct and added that in while he was there. One fee for both work and they didn’t even charge me an extra fee for the immediate need for a fix!
Could not be more pleased with this company. From Mary in the office to Mike and Orest, everyone has been fantastic. I will be using them for all my future maintenance and service needs.

These guys are awesome. Mike talked me through an issue completely unrelated to hvac (flooring/​humidity) for 20 minutes, knowing that they could not help us with this issue. Will definitely be calling them in the future.

These guys are great. my AC unit went bust last summer. For the record, i live in a condo where the AC unit is on top of a room, so it is very hard to work on it. tight spaces. Anyhow, The TXV valve went out. I had the big companies come out here and they game me quotes of about 1200. Fabian himself came and his quote was a total of 750. they did a great job, very professional. I would hire them again in a heart beat.

Due to scheduling issues my appointment was pushed out — but they were very quick in letting me know & keeping new time.
Informative & friendly — I felt my furnace got a quality clean & we are ready for the winter.

I called them in to install a central humidifier and pull a new thermostat wire so I could install a Honeywell remote thermostat.
They performed all the work competently, they completely cleaned up after finishing the work, they were on time, the technicians were courteous and professional, and the humidifier they sold me seems so far to be a good fit for our heating system. The air is much less dry in our house. They billed the work out at a price that was more than fair.
I’ll call them again the next time my HVAC system needs any work.

Fabian and Son are fantastic. They were recommended to me by my realtor, and they’ve been the only HVAC company I’ll use from now on. They are up front with service needs, very reasonably priced, and are able to come out to fix something usually the same day I call. When my heater broke this winter, I left a message around 8 pm (after business hours), thinking I’d just get a call back in the morning, but Mike called me back within minutes to troubleshoot the problem and quote me on a fix.
Mike and his associates are also very friendly and kind. Some contractors can be gruff or talk down to me, but they are always personable and smiling. They even made friends with my little dog, which I thought was sweet.
Most experiences I’ve had with home repair or maintenance companies have been «meh» at best or much worse, but Fabian & Sons is one of the truly pleasant businesses I’ve worked with, so much so I really wanted to make sure I add my 5-​star review to their already glowing list!
