History

Established in 2010.

Growing up in rural Minnesota, Jill comes from a land better known for farming & fishing than fashion. So, when she decided to pursue her passion for fashion as a career path, she moved from her small home town to the big city of Chicago. She graduated among the top of her class with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandising.

Jill has worked in many different facets of the fashion industry. She has accumulated many years on the sales floor, working with customers of all shapes, sizes, styles and spending budgets. After working for several different small styling firms Jill decided to branch of on her own; and so Express Thru Dress was established.

Jill focuses on helping clients identify the divide between the way they wish to be perceived (professionally & socially) and how they actually appear; and works with them to develop a signature style, which they express through the way they dress.

Some might say her eclectic sense of style is slightly off-​kilter — but one thing is certain, it’s always on-​point & completely her own. Jill gravitates toward the bohemian fundamentals of fashion (not just the playful prints, flowy fabrics and fringe), but the idea of individualism — embracing your own personality and expressing it through your fashion choices.

When it comes to styling, Jill has learned to trust her instincts. She has an innate sensibility of what to wear & how to wear it. Playing with proportions, mixing classic with cutting edge, and breaking up simple separates with statement pieces are just some of the things on her agenda. Her uncanny ability to make opposites align, cleverly combine unexpected color combos, and intertwine the trendy with the timeless is instantly intriguing — fashion-​forward, but never forced.
