Essential Acupuncture Chicago

This is my first experience with acupuncture. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am. I have seen Leigh for a couple weeks, and have already seen results. I’m sleeping better and feel less stress in my life. I highly recommend Essential Acupuncture, Leigh is caring, compassionate, and kind. Definitely give acupuncture a try!!!

i agree with many of these reviews. leigh has saved my life. her level of care, openness to knowing what is happening in my life, and energy are exactly what i need.
i started going to leigh when i first found out i was pregnant in november 2015. unfortunately, we lost our baby at 13 weeks and leigh was one of two people who both emotionally and physically, put me back together again. other than our family and friends, she was the first person i told about our loss and she moved her schedule around to get me in immediately. i was in her care less than 24 hours after we learned our baby had passed away. i was desperately needing healing and a way to both digest and make peace with what had just happened. as the months have gone on and my body is still adjusting, leigh has been supportive and so warm throughout all of this. i could never thank her enough.

I feel so fortunate to have found Essential Acupuncture. Leigh’s care and support have literally saved my life. Acupuncture truly is essential, and makes a remarkable difference in how I feel. This is a beautiful space, very comfortable and inviting. I have received multiple treatments from Siri and would highly recommend her to anyone. She immediately puts one at ease with her calm confidence. If you’ve never had acupuncture before, or feel nervous for any reason, she is great at explaining everything and making sure you feel comfortable with everything. She is an attentive listener and a natural healer. I trust her with my whole spectrum of health issues. She has helped me to quit smoking, which is a HUGE deal and the cost of treatments was so much less than the cost of smoking! She was wonderful throughout my treatments for smoking cessation, never once passing judgement or pressuring me or making me feel bad if I tripped up. I felt like she really focused on the end result and patiently guided me there. And now I feel so proud of myself for no longer being a smoker! I have also seen her for physical ailments-​everything from aches and pains to sleeping problems and anxiety. I know when I step in to her office that I am in good hands. Also, the location is really convenient and parking is a breeze.

Siri is the best! She helped me while I was pregnant with my second child and I’ve continued treatments now that I’ve had my baby. She’s relieved aliments including arthritis, trouble sleeping, anxiety, headaches and more. I always feel incredible after my treatments. I’d highly recommend Siri and Essential Acupuncture – it does not get any better!

Siri, Literally, gave me the best acupuncture treatment ever. I was getting a migraine and Siri’s treatment completed got rid of it. That never has happened to me before. It was amazing!
Siri has also successfully treated me for IBS and for herniated discs in my spine. I highly recommend her for treating anything you need!!!
Also great is parking is free and easy in the neighborhood!

I have been coming to Essential Acupuncture since August 1 and have seen some fantastic results. First off, it must be stated that Leigh is the absolute best. She is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met and is a master of her craft. Although after work traffic can make the trip a bit of a hassle from the South Loop I would never consider going elsewhere.
Initially, I went to Essential Acupuncture on referral from my massage therapist at Allyu (I refuse to provide her name, as she is hard to see as it is). I had this big old knot in my shoulder that would not go away. Anytime I had any stress it was like someone was stabbing me. I went to Leigh at Essential Acupuncture and within 3 – 4 visits it was gone. I «tested» it back a few months ago during a stressful time at work and there was zero stabbing/​pain.
During each visit, Leigh asks about other health concerns that I have. Without going into detail here, I have to say that she was able with all of them. Okay, we are still working on the nail biting (gross I know) but I have been doing that since I was 6.
I guess the greatest compliment I could give is to say that I can see myself going to Essential Acupuncture for years to come. Even if all problems are solved, the experience itself really puts my mind right.
A few other notes… Street parking is free and easy to find. All scheduling is electronic and plays nicely with iCal or Google Calendar. I am able to use Flex Spending dollars for my treatment and you may be able to as well.

I can’t describe how much I love this place and my accupuncturist Leigh! I was referred by my friend and am so grateful! This was my first experience with accupuncture and now I’m hooked.
It’s a clean, relaxing, & friendly environment. Their prices are really reasonable as well. Leigh has this calming presence about her and she really takes the time to understand you and your body. She then customizes your treatment accordingly explaining the whys behind everything along the way. In just 5 weeks my circulation, allergies & sleep cycle are so much better. I should have written this months ago.
Long story short: over the years, a few different doctors have suggested I try acupuncture, but I always found myself feeling reluctant to follow up with an acupuncturist. Not because of the needles, because I honestly didn’t believe it could help me.
Essential Acupuncture completely changed my view and perception. This was my first experience with acupuncture, and I’m so grateful I came here for it (the Unilocal reviews are what lead me here!). My session was extremely informative, therapeutic and relaxing. My practitioner, Emily, was warm, knowledgeable, calming, and patient with all of my questions. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the session, had excellent bedside manner, and was very easy to talk to.
As soon as Emily found out that I no longer live in Chicago, she wrote down her highly recommended and Brooklyn-​based colleague’s email address and number for me so that I could continue acupuncture therapy as soon as I returned to New York.
Hours after the appointment, I felt my physical discomfort gradually release, and I had the best night of sleep that I can remember in recent years. The positive effects of the treatment faded after a few days, but Emily let me know beforehand that this happens after your first acupuncture treatment. I’m looking forward to my next appointment when I’m home in a few weeks.

I initially went to emily at Essential Acupuncture in Bucktown about a year and a half ago after I crashed my bike (and body) into a big curb. My md predicted 6months of physical therapy for my shoulder injury and set me up with a sports doc that couldn’t fit me in until the following week. So, upon a friend’s recommendation, I took a detour to Emily. In the first week I had 2 appointments and a noticeable improvement in pain management and increased mobility. I cancelled the appt with the doc. Five or six more visits, I was good to go.
As far as the experience, I have to say Emily was pitch perfect. I’ve had acupuncture before and have had decent experiences. This issue was my most serious, and I’m so glad I went to Emily, who has a bedside manner fit for anyone. After we set goals for treatment, she explained her process and held my hand (not literally, but I’m sure she would of, had I asked) throughout our time together. She’s a very delicate needler and introduced me to new things — cupping, in particular, was awesome.
Recently, I had a minor run-​in with a car and needed some treatment for a strained muscle. Emily fixed me right up in 2 visits.
Anyway, I feel like I could go on and on extolling the benefits of my time with Emily. She is a talented and professional practitioner. You’d be lucky to be under her care!

I had never tried acupuncture before but then I hurt my back and went to Essential Acupuncture to try it out. I had amazing results. Emily was incredible, I knew that I was in very capable hands. I would highly recommend this place for their excellent work and great people.
