Red head at the desk gave a «wtf» look and was unfriendly. Other clients seemed pretentious and unfriendly. Not comfortable with this place. My first impression was not good folks. First impression really break the deal

Awesome yoga studio. All of the teachers have been warm and helpful, and the classes offer a wide range for different skill levels to expand their practice. The location is great, and there are classes at various times throughout the day to fit most schedules.

Okay. I wanted more of an eastern practice. It could of been the instructor but I expected a better experience

One of my friends cancelled on our dinner plans tonight. Sucks, right? Normally, I’d be pretty bummed. BUT, it’s Thursday, and that means Sylvia’s teaching a class tonight at Moksha. And I couldn’t be more excited.
Over the past 4 months, Moksha has become my bestie. But seriously. We hang out about 2 – 3 nights a week, she only lives about 10 minutes away, always has something going on, and in this case, is the perfect backup to a postponed hangout.
But for real, Moksha has completely changed my yoga practice. I used to practice off and on for the past 3 years, but never consistently and I never spent time perfecting my yoga poses and form. However, the instructors at Moksha have helped me bring out my inner yogi (special shoutout to Sylvia and Jessica W.). They have helped me develop and deepen my practice, and now I’m practically addicted. Sylvia and Jessica’s classes are my absolute favorite, so much so that I usually try to schedule the rest of my plans around them. I love the variety of classes at Moksha, and it’s the perfect blend of breathing and movement, with an emphasis of connecting with inner being.
I’ve been to all three Moksha studios (West Bucktown, Riverwest, and Lakeview) and out of all of them, this one is my favorite. I love the layout, the ambiance (yes, even with the sound of the train going by in the background), and the studio itself — it’s so peaceful and calming. The studio is clean and they have everything that you need — mats (no rental charge!), blocks, bolsters, and more. The class size varies on the time of day and instructor, but I’ve never felt like it was overly full. But if there comes a time when I can’t attend Sylvia and Jessica’s classes because it’s too full, I’m totally gonna blame my own review…

I found yoga again after taking Kimberly Dunn’s class in January 2013. I developed a new love for yoga and discovered how it has gradually transformed my life physically, mentally, and spiritually over the past couple of years… so much that now I am even considering going even deeper and taking Moksha’s 200 hr teacher training class. I am so grateful to have found yoga again and through Kimberly’s classes and Super Soul Sunday workshops, I have been taken on a journey of growth, expansion, and learning more about myself than I ever thought possible. I’m looking forward to going even deeper in my practice with Kimberly and Moksha in the year to come.

Moksha is an awesome studio! When i moved back from a teacher training in India, I did quite a bit of shopping around to find my home base in Chicago. Moksha was the clear choice. There are thoughtful classes at every tine of the day, a range of styles and teachers and excellent workshops to continue honing my skills as a teacher and student of yoga. I especially love classes with Alie and Rachel. Check out their work study options too!

Ok so I’m in love with this studio. If I could drive the hour and 15 minutes to go every day to moksha I would. This is my favorite location. Tristan was the beginners class instructor and he was amazing, soft spoken and wonderful. gave very basic instructions and was patient. The energy in the place is fantastic.

Hands down my fave yoga studio, wait for it… anywhere! The caliber of instructors is uniformly high. What I especially appreciate is the variety between classes and the effort instructors put in to to keep classes fresh, challenging and fun. Fun Times! =) xoxo

Moksha Yoga Center became my yoga home on a whim (I googled!) and has stayed my yoga home by choice.
I completed my 200hr teacher training at Moksha Yoga Center and am currently pursuing my 500hr certification there as well. If you’re thinking about teaching or thinking about refining your teaching, this is the place to come. Owner, Daren Friesen is a true teacher’s teacher and is always surprising me by sharing more and more knowledge about this practice and the art of sharing it with others.
Aside from teacher trainings, Moksha brings some of the best teachers to the studio from across the country offering the Moksha community a wide variety of in depth workshops to choose from year round.
As a practitioner, I expect that Moksha resident teachers will be impeccably trained, articulate, creative and caring. And they are.
I may sound biased because I’ve done so many trainings at Moksha, but I assure you that I would not keep coming back and I would not be singing its praises if Moksha did not live up to expectations.
It is a première, classical yoga studio — so if you’re looking for authentic yoga that extends beyond the asana (physical postures) then this is your place.

This studio has become like a second home for me since the beginning of the year, when I started my 500-​hour teacher training through Moksha. The teacher training program here is second to none, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a comprehensive and well-​rounded education in the ancient craft of yoga.
The studio spaces are clean and stocked with plentiful props, the staff is friendly and accommodating, teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, and the whole vibe here is 100 percent authentic and real. The biggest thing that sets Moksha apart in my mind is the community. From the students to the teachers to the people working behind the scenes to ensure operations run smoothly, people at Moksha really live their yoga practice off the mat, going out of their way to welcome new students and support the growth of fellow community members. The quality of the community and level of personal connection you get at Moksha is truly exceptional and noteworthy.

Moksha is as good as it gets with Yoga in Chicago. I’ve been to many different studios all over the city and this is definitely one community you want to be apart of. There is a variety of classes, very knowledgeable teachers, and a wonderful clean space to practice your stillness. Hands on adjustment is what I long for in each class, connecting with the teacher as well as myself on a deeper level. If you are new to Yoga this is especially the place where you want to start to have a deeper understanding of alignment, connecting movement with breath, and finding space within your stillness. Moksha is a stellar place to practice, center yourself, and align you with your divine spirit

Beautiful studio space, welcoming community, offers specials consistently to make classes more affordable, robust class schedules, and walking distance from my house! Very thankful there is such a good place so close by. I have gone to a couple of their special events/​classes/​series and they are also great. They have ample props/​mats for your use or you can bring your own. If you are just starting out, or haven’t been in a while, I would really recommend basis classes, the mixed level classes feel pretty advanced. This allows you to really learn the proper postures and to take your time ensuring you have them right in a safe environment instead of just rushing through or trying to keep up with a class that you are not ready for! I am really glad I have seen a few more Level 1/​Intro classes on the schedule! They have 3 locations you can go to — I have been to Bucktown and River West — both are great and both right near Blue Line stops!

Absolutely the best yoga studio in the city. Classes have great variety and the knowledge of the teachers surpass all other studios I have attended hands down. They offer tons of workshops from renown teachers. Go to Moksha if you want a true yoga experience, not a corporate work out class.

My only critique of Moksha Yoga Center is that it is not located closer to where I live, so I don’t get to Yoga class as often as I should (but that problem is entirely on me).
Moksha Yoga consistently offers a great variety of classes at all experience levels and I have always had great yoga instructors. Each class is 90 minutes long, but the time flies by so quickly you would swear you were only there for 40 minutes. The instructors are very helpful and attentive to what your needs are coming to yoga. Moksha Yoga Center intentionally creates a very peaceful space (quiet, no big windows, no on-​lookers form outside) for you to focus and practice your yoga. I highly recommend them to anyone, whether first-​timers or seasoned yogis.
I recommend that you visit their website before attending a class. Their full schedule can be found on their website, as well as a description of each class and a short biography of each instructor. Find a class that fits your needs! I’ve only had good experiences with Moksha.

I love Moksha Yoga Bucktown. The studio is welcoming, the teachers are experienced and helpful, the classes are a good workout and fun. I bought a groupon here for 5 classes and went with friends, then I ended up purchasing a 10 class pass. I really love Lance’s classes. The Friday evening vinyasa level 1 – 2 class is a great way to start off the weekend. They always have lots of programs and send emails so you can stay in the loop.
This is somewhere I will buy 10 class passes to whenever I need an extra awesome dose of yoga in my life. Also, the class passes need to be used in 90 days, which really motivates you to go. I called the office and they will be nice and extend your class pass if you need. (at least they did for me and I was really grateful). This studio is really close and convenient to get to from my house too.

This yoga studio is fantastic. I had never tried yoga before and this place really made me appreciate and enjoy it.
Jen is a fabulous teacher who takes the time to learn people’s names and help newbies. She’s all about safety and very good about helping anyone who has any problems in class.
I recommend this place to anyone who practices yoga or is interested in practicing yoga.

This is my favorite Yoga studio in Chicago. I went to the Logan Square location, but there are three to choose from. A ton of class times are offered, so I was usually able to get to three per week after work, and one or two on the weekend (depending how strong I was feeling).
Of course, instruction style and therefore class flow varies by teacher, but I have yet to find any instructors I like better, and I tried out three different studios in Chicago, and now have tested two in New York.
Marcelyn Cole is my favorite favorite. For me, she blended the perfect amount of meditation and self reflection with pose variety and intensity options. She tends to match class with the season, so, for example, in the Spring we did a lot of twists to detoxify from the winter.
If you aren’t into the spiritual side of yoga, you can probably tune her out (though I wouldn’t recommend it), and still get a great body workout. I do yoga for body and soul, so her style was perfect for me.
All the classes I went to at Moksha were very accessible and the people are super friendly. They hold workshops and such, too, but I, unfortunately, never made it to those.
Moksha’s the real deal. I recommend it for anyone open to practicing yoga.

I am a big fan of Moksha at Riverwest and recently started going to other sister locations to take advantage of all the classes available.
First of all if you buy a package at Moksha, you can go to all three locations. With the big schedule and variety of classes, there’a always something that fits my need.
The space at Logan Sqaure is beautifulm bright and airy. I love the Sunday morning class there. All the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and comes around to do adjustments and explain each pose very well.

I’m so very happy Moksha opened a new studio in my neighborhood. I liked the Carpenter location, but could never find a class that fit my schedule. The after work classes were either too early or too late.
This new studio, however, has a totally Renee-​friendly (as I’m sure they planned it…) schedule. Happiness!
So, I checked out a Tantric Vinyasa class last night, which I really enjoyed. The new studio feels brand spanking new with 2 nice changing rooms and showers and larger bathrooms in the hallway. I didn’t get a chance to check out the other studio, but the one I was in was fairly small, still nice though.
Class size was really small, but it was nice to get individual adjustments. I’m sure in a few weeks, I’ll be scrounging for mat space.
There were a few small glitches with the buzzer downstairs not working, but I’m sure that won’t be a problem for long. The sound of the train going by during savasana was a little distracting, but I guess that’s what yoga’s all about… tuning out those distractions.
