It’s everything. If I could own it all, I would. Major bonus that they frequently(quarterly’ish) have STELLAR sales.

Love, Love, Adore, Swoon, Love. What an utterly fantastic shopping experience and one I forget all too often exists right here in our city. Calypso always evokes memories of shopping in NYC… while we do have one retail outlet here, their locations are super East Coast heavy and browsing the gorgeous clothes in their Meatpacking District store is hands down one of my most favorite past times. Lucky for us, while we do only have the one location, it’s chock full of all things wonderfully Calypso. Beautifully made relaxed clothing, sexy little underthings, trendy shoes(like Jack Rogers sandals) and those fabulous, colorful bougie parfumée candles — my favorite is the delicately scented pink rose. Mmm… scentual! The laid back vibe of the store, chipper staff girls and overall South Beachy atmosphere will get anyone worked up and ready to shop. Peruse stylish resort wear bikinis and tunics or turn up your city chic radar to flowy tops, tailored jackets and their utterly amazing and versatile wrap dress that goes from day to evening perfectly. Quick Tip: Be sure to pick up a few of the blissfully utilitarian signature ribbed Calypso tanks for yourself and one for your friend that recommended them: wink wink:. You’ll live in ‘em all Summer long and thank me for it!

I always find bright and wonderful resort wear at this store. I have been shopping here for years, and they always have great summer and winter staples. My personal favorite item, that I own in every color is this tube dress that can also be worn as a skirt. I wear it over my bathing suit and it is my vacation and summer staple. It is a overall great place to come for warm weather wear.

Chicago seems like an odd place for an outpost of this tropical, Palm Beach-y store. Even the cashmere sweaters are light and airy. That said, the merchandise is always lovely, if not weather-appropriate, and there’s nowhere better to shop for that beach vacation in January. Not necessarily worth its own special trip, but absolutely worth stopping in next time you’re shopping on Oak Street.
