Bow Wow Meow Dog Walking & Pet Care

We used Bow Wow Meow to care for our 2 cats while we were gone for New Years. Heather provided daily texts to let us know they were okay. She also left a daily written log in the apartment detailing the times and how things were etc. She is extremely detail oriented and thorough — the kind of person you feel good entrusting your home and animals with.
Bow Wow Meow was VERY reasonably priced, and we have definitely found our permanent resource for cat care!

Bow Wow Meow is such a lifesaver! They make me feel less guilty that our shy little rescue pooch has to stay home while we are at work. Heather, the owner, is great to work with and we absolutely love our walker, Hope! She’s so great with Scout, who absolutely adores her. The notes we get after every walk are great and I always love it when Hope sends photos of Scout being her cute little self on their walks. Can’t say enough great things about this team.

Update: We’ve been using Bow Wow Meow for about a year now and we continue to be SO thankful we found our walker, Alex! Throughout the last year, we’ve had many adventures with Lucy and unfortunately, Alex has had to experience some of these «adventures». For example, the time Lucy had the doggy flu and her medicine made her ill in her crate. Alex texted me right away to let me know what happened, and he very gracefully cleaned her (and her crate) up, texting me «honestly, no worries!» as I was freaking out at work. There was the time (before being fully potty trained) that she saw him, got excited, and peed on the couch. Again, he texted me right away, did a basic cleaning, and removed the cushion cover from the couch so it wouldn’t get ruined. If there is mail or packages on our doorstep, he kindly brings them in for us. At Christmas he left us an adorable Christmas present for Lucy, including a hand-​drawn/​painted picture of our Lucy girl! And the notes! I love coming home from work to the funny notes he leaves about their adventures (my favorite was «Today Lucy kept barking at an old woman in a wheelchair»…that’s our Lucy!). I could go on and on about how much Alex and Heather go above and beyond for us, but you get the point. We seriously love them and I hope that we’ll never have to move! … and if we do, I’ll make sure it’s in their walking area. :)

We’ve used Bow Wow Meow for our last two out of town trips and it is hands-​down the best kitty sitting service we’ve ever had!!! My hubby and I refer to Heather as the Kitty Whisperer because she’s the only pet sitter who our kitty has ever warmed up to – and we have used many different pet sitting services over the past 7 years so I speak from lots of experience. Perhaps that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but for our furry dude it is a HUGE deal as he typically runs and hides and hisses from anyone other than hubby and me (including friends and family)! This has always created a lot of stress for him whenever we’ve traveled because he simply doesn’t trust anyone but us. All of that has changed now that Bow Wow Meow has started caring for our kitty and I think it has so much to do with the time they take to really connect with the animals they care for including the skittish ones like my fuzzy feline.
I can’t say enough positive things about our experience. During every visit we get an update from Heather via text along with a photo of the furry dude enjoying the fresh catnip she gives him and get to see him hanging out with the little surprise activities she puts out like tissue paper that he loves to roll around in. On our last trip out of town, Heather earned the title of «Auntie» because our kitty greeted her at the food bowl upon her arrival (she texted a picture for us to see) and followed her around the house as she took care of kitty chores. Just amazing! That kind of behavioral shift in our cat speaks volumes about the time she is taking to really connect with him during her visits unlike other pet sitting services we’ve experienced who just wrote him off as a skittish cat and never took the time to make him feel comfortable so he could break out of his shell.
Another really nice detail that we look forward to when we return home are the darling little notes she leaves on a notepad on every visit to share details about the activities she did during her check-​in and what playtime adventures she had with the dude. It’s such a nice touch that gives us peace of mind that she is taking the time to really be present for our kitty while she’s there.
We love Bow Wow Meow and we are so grateful to Heather for providing such loving care to our darling boy so we can head out of town without a single worry.

How many good things can I say about Bow Wow Meow?
We have been using them for about 6 months now for cat sitting. My partner and I are moving in together so we are now moving neighborhoods and sadly, cannot continue to use Bow Wow because of location. I honestly don’t think we will find someone quite as good as them.
I’m one of those annoying customers who never knows her schedule until last minute because of work. Heather has always been incredibly accomodating to this, even if I only give her a week notice. There is a late request fee but it’s well worth it to me to know my cats are in good hands.
My cat sitter sends me text updates and leaves me written messages to come home to and read. One of my cats has anxiety issues and he never seems out of sorts when I come home because of my sitter’s care. For Christmas, she left a goodie bag for my two cats filled with treats, catnip and toys. Of course, my two were drugged up for days on end with joy (and catnip).
My partner uses Alex who is incredibly gentle and so very caring to her one cat. She is a little skittish and hides often but Alex is always very kind to try and pet her under the bed. Half of the time she even comes out to greet Alex, which is a rarity and a true testament to what a great sitter he is. He hides treats and toys for her throughout the house which I’m sure keeps the cat entertained since she is an only. He too sends updates and writes notes for when my partner returns.
The convenience factor is also a huge bonus. Bow wow accepts Chase quick pay which is so much easier for me than to drop a check in the mail or have to pull out cash for a tip, especially when I’m rushed with my last minute work trips.
I would not hestitate to recommend Bow Wow Meow to anyone who asks about a cat sitter. I do not know how they are on the dog walking side but can imagine they are just as remarkable as they are with our three animals.

Worth every penny.
Liz has been working with us for a few weeks now. We have two larger dogs who are both young and rambunctious and we can tell such a difference in their behavior now that Liz walks them during the day. She also stayed the weekend with them the last time we traveled. Love all the communication we get from both Liz and Heather (the owner.) I absolutely recommend this business.

I have been a client of Bow Wow Meow for almost seven years now and cannot say enough good things about them. They started walking my dog Chuck when he was about 5 months old and literally helped me to train him to better walk on a leash.
Fast forward 7 years later and Chuck moves a bit more slowly but still looks forward to his daily walk!
Our walker Liz is absolutely AMAZING. She has never missed a walk even in the worst of weather conditions and you can tell she just has a passion for her job.

We used Bow Wow for 8 days over Christmas. We have 2 kitties. The total was $ 170 which included one visit per day. We received daily pictures and texts from Stephanie on their wellbeing. The kitties were good when we came home. As expected, our apartment needed a good scrubbing but they seemed fine. They were well-​fed and the litter box had been cleaned regularly. There was a notepad with short daily notes from Steph’s visits and a little Christmas present with kitty present and toys.
One thing that was a little alarming was one of the pictures Steph sent us, there was an unknown man in the background of the picture. I will say that this was Christmas day and very well could have been Steph’s husband. We would have preferred a little heads up on other people in our house. In Steph’s defense, my grandmother walks dogs and would always bring my grandfather regardless if the owners had met him or not. It was a little off-​putting but not a major issue considering the great communication and care Stephanie took with our kittens. We will absolutely use Bow Wow again.

I am so thrilled with Bow Wow Meow! I have used them on two separate occasions (with a third on the horizon) and each time I have been even more impressed. I have just one, very low maintenance cat – but I still want her to have the best care while I am away.
I have used many pet sitters before, but Bow Wow Meow has been the most professional and involved company I have ever used. The prices are quite affordable, and they have been very accepting of necessary dates.
We did the usual Meet-&-Greet, Heather was very attentive and asked many excellent questions. She even taught me a couple tips and tricks! During her visit she writes very helpful notes and usually accompanies it with a text or email and some adorable photos. She doesn’t stop there however, she has brought my cat new toys each time she has visited and has a wonderful way of leaving fun things around that help keep my cat occupied when she isn’t around.
I feel very comfortable leaving my home and my cat to Bow Wow Meow and would recommend them to any one in the area.

After adding two furry babies to my family, I was confronted with the reality of work travel. How would my babies get the TLC they deserve?! i found Bow Wow Meow on Unilocal,and quickly after e-​mailing to learn more about their offering, Heather & Sam came to vist and meet the kitties. They talked me through the process, the (extremely reasonable) pricing, and all of the fun activities they had planned for the furballs.
I. was. so. excited.
Knowing my kitties are cared for by responsible, friendly animal-​lovers really puts me at ease when i have to be away for a couple days. In fact — they look after other pets in my building as well! I had no idea. They do a great job with the pet basics — feeding, cleaning up the litter box, etc., but Sam goes above and beyond by sweeping up around the litter box, washing the food dishes, and giving the kitties loads of cuddles.
The absolute best part? Sam sends me a text update with pictures following each visit. They are the highlight of my day, and are always super entertaining!
Bow Wow Meow is fantastc, and I recommend them 100% :)

We’ve been a customer for several years and I have been thrilled with the service provided. Our cats are well taken care of, pictures are sent, toys are brought, and we always return to happy animals. Service is also prompt and on-​time. It beats any other arrangements we’ve done in the past.

I was so impressed by the service here. The owner Heather met me at my home with the sitter Ryan who would be the one watching my cat while I was out of town for a week. I felt better showing them how to get in my apt and introduce him to Zoe. I’ve never used a cat sitter before but it made me feel so comforted to know that my old cat would not only get fed, but get the love and attention she needs in here older age. Every day at the same time, Ryan texted me updates and sent pictures. When I got back home, I found a detailed journal of what she did every day while I was gone. I highly recommend them :)

I couldn’t be happier with Bow Wow Meow. Heather and Samantha have really gone above and beyond with their pet care and make me feel at ease when I travel. I know that when I’m out of town, my cat will be well taken care of and loved. Not only are they incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, but the visits are well-​priced (and worth it).
I always get the cutest e-​mail updates too! Example: «Felicity was very vocal when I arrived shortly after 3pm, but quieted down after lunch, some playtime with the laser pointer I brought over and then laptime reading Real Simple magazine together for Halloween ideas.» Thank you Bow Wow Meow!

Bow Wow Meow took fantastic care of our cats while we were on vacation! Ryan was our pet nanny while we were away and he is the BEST! We recently adopted 2 cats from the shelter and they were still adjusting to their new home. Ryan took time to play with them, (introducing them to laser tag too!) and carefully attended to them while we were gone.
Ryan left detailed notes and also texted me every day (he’ll accomodate whatever frequency you like) including pictures of the cats playing each day. It was a huge relief knowing that the cats were in such good hands while we were away.
I highly recommend BWM overall, and especially Ryan, as an excellent caregiver for your cats.

Miranda has been walking Petey for about a year when we go on vacations. It is always difficult to leave your pet and home in the well being of anyone. I knew I made the right decision when it had been months since Petey saw Miranda and immediately ran up to her. My dog never does that to anyone. I took a big sigh of relief. I have been recommending Bow Wow Meow ever since.

I wholeheartedly recommend Bow Wow Meow. I started looking for a cat sitter for Christmas week on the Thursday before, after realizing that I couldn’t bear to board my cat, as originally planned. Despite being completely booked (and the incredibly late notice), Heather squeezed me in, because she was luckily seeing cats on my block already. I cannot be any more grateful that she did. She was great about easing my anxiety, as I had never left my cat alone that long before, and she was excellent with him. He took to her like catnip during her initial consultation visit and was in great spirits when I returned from my trip.
Heather seems to give a high level of attention to each cat client. She kept an adorable journal detailing her visits, left my cat a Christmas present, and created activities to keep him entertained while he was alone, such as filling a few boxes with tissue paper, which apparently are joyous wonderlands of adventure according to my cat’s actions over the past few days. She also sends first and last visit texts, so that the away owner knows everything is going okay, which was greatly appreciated.
I will not hesitate to use Bow Wow Meow again.

We had never used a professional service to watch our two cats and were nervous about choosing a good service. A friend recommended Bow Wow Meow. Heather was so accommodating and made us comfortable immediately. She went beyond our expectations to pamper our kitten-​children. She brought toys, wrote excellent notes, and paid special attention to our cat’s certain quarks.
Bow Wow Meow is worth every penny (they are very well priced, especially if you compare with other services). I love that Heather keeps extra keys on hand, so asking for her help is only an email away!

I’ve been using Bow Wow Meow for a few years now. I couldn’t be happier. Heather chooses her employees well! I had an older dog who was skittish and didn’t warm up easily to strangers. She and the walkers would come to meet Maggie before my leave, giving Maggie a chance to get accustomed to them. I also have two cats, and they get A+ care.
The caretakers leave daily notes, and will text or email me with updates too if I like. Getting a picture of my cats when I was gone was reassuring! (my dog has since passed-​still use them for my cats!)

Bow Wow Meow is great! Reliable, friendly, affordable, and totally in tune with cats and cat owners (and, I think it’s safe to assume, dogs and dog owners, too).
Our cat sitter fell through days before we were supposed to leave on our Fourth of July vacation, and Bow Wow Meow was able to squeeze us in for the holiday weekend. We thought it would cost us an arm and a leg to get someone in at the last minute, but Bow Wow Meow made it easy and inexpensive!
Leslie and Liz were great with the cats and with us — we felt completely at ease going out of town on what was a horrendously hot weekend because we knew our girls would be well cared for. What a relief! Plus we loved reading the updates about how the girls were handling the weekend.
