History

Established in 1991.

Established in Chicago as a woman-owned firm in 1991, Bailey Edward has become one of the region’s most reputable architectural and engineering practices committed to public service clients. Founding principal, Ellen Bailey Dickson, AIA, was joined in 1993 by Robin Edward Whitehurst, AIA, deepening the firm’s design and technical skills to serve a growing client base. A Champaign, IL firm was acquired in 2001, accommodating clients to the south and integrating four decades of educational and institutional experience. A Wisconsin office was established in 2008 to better serve clients to the north. In 2013, Bailey Edward expanded in-house capabilities to include MEP/FP engineering services out of the firm’s Fox River Grove office in the northwest Chicago suburbs.

The disciplined growth of the firm correlates directly to our success partnering with clients that serve, support and protect the public. The establishment of regional offices has enabled us to engage clients more directly.
