Good body shop but I can’t give it 5 stars, and 3 would be harsh.
Basically, my car took over 2 weeks to fix when I was told it wouldn’t be longer than 6 days. Of course that’s not entirely their fault but never did they inform me themselves that it would take longer. I had to call and then I’d find out that a part was taking forever to come in or something else. My car was in two different accidents, one my fault one not my fault and so I was taking care of both claims. I was only told I’d have to pay $ 500 for my deductible and made a $ 100 deposit. Then next time one of the girls claimed I had to present my receipt because in their system it said I still owed $ 500. Then I go pick up my car and it’s now $ 900 for both deductibles because that guy hasn’t paid up yet. Didn’t get informed previously.
HOWEVER, if you do get your car fixed here ask for Demetrius. He was absolutely amazing. My insurance, State Farm, was being super dumb about everything and he dealt with them and spent time on the phone so that I wouldn’t have to personally. He was super calm and made me feel at ease about everything and he was just a really cool guy in general. He’s the only reason why I would choose to go back if I ever needed to.

Best people to help you out! They give you coffee while you wait too! Nice people who really care about the customer.

Very easy to deal with, received a competitive quote, able to schedule easily. When part came in wrong was very communicative with options. When done the car looked great!

This review is overdue — back in August 2014 someone side-​swiped my vehicle speeding down a street & broke off my driver-​side mirror. Luckily I was in the car parked & a chase ensued to my resulting success, thanks to Gran Turismo on PlayStation — all on the eve of my wedding. Upon returning from my honeymoon, B&L took AMAZING care of my vehicle & gave me a new mirror, great paint, all working well. The owner (can’t recall what his name was — Gino?!) was amazing! Their customer service is fast-​n-​furious with great passion. Keep up the great work.

After an accident I don’t think anyone feels good. We went to B & L Automotive and from the moment we walked in the owners and staff understood the drama that goes with an accident. The immediately put us at ease and a week later our vehicle was back, completely fixed, clean inside and out and couldn’t believe they made it look so good for a 8 year old car. B & L kept us up to date along the way so there were no surprises. I would recommend them for any repairs and will definitely be back if the need ever rises again. Truck was hit while parked and my insurance had the repairs done here. This shop is around the corner from my home.
$ 13 000, yes, $ 13 000 in damage to my new Jeep Cherokee SRT8. It was hit very hard.
After 7 weeks my truck was completed. Here are things that i noticed after inspecting it closely with my friend who is a master mechanic. Then a deeper inspection by Napletons Jeep Chrysler dealer.
–Few body panels misaligned, almost all.
–Headlight leveling not functioning. They did not replace the leveling sensor on the rear axle which is where my car was struck. Brought back twice and they couldnt fix it.
–Wheel liners not attached properly
–SRT badge in front bumper missing
–Front driver side strut damaged (the side my vehicle was struck on)
–Alignment off
–Both rear shocks leaking. They were supposedly replaced with new ones.
–Rear hatch glass had a leak and missing both of the nuts for the hinges
–Mystery scratches that werent there before i brought the car in.
–Shifter knob loose from carelessness.
Perhaps they just rushed through my truck and all the other 5 star ratings are accurate. Or maybe im just more anal about my $ 70 000 vehicle and just noticed things others did not. Im a perfectionist and the repairs were not up to my standards.
With all that said the staff did communicate well and the front end staff was very friendly. Im leaving one star because for me, the real point of a shop is to repair a vehicle restoring its previous condition or better.
I now go to their competitor Albany auto and the Napletons Jeep Chrysler Dealer for service.

This place is awesome! It is so hard to find a quality auto repair place but B&L is trustworthy, good at what they do and really customer service oriented. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

There’s not a better body shop around and the only thing better is the guys that run it. I’ve taken my cars here several times over the last 20 years and always leave beyond happy with their work and service. You’re in good hands at B and L!!!

If your car needs anything done, this is the place to go. Bob took care of a rather difficult situation between my neighbor and myself, and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome. The car repairs made it look pristine, and they detailed it as well. Everyone I interacted with was phenomenal, and I feel that I have found my new go to body shop. THANKS GUYS!!!

BEAUTIFUL work! My car is a 2015 Buick Encore and I was unfortunate to have much damage on it from various events (yes, I have no luck). When the work was done, it looked like it came right off of the assembly line. My car looked as if nothing was ever wrong with it. I am so very satisfied with the outcome. All staff members were courteous and kept me up-​to-​date every step of the way. They even arranged for the rental car to pick me up. The facility itself is very clean and even kid friendly. I really didn’t have to do a thing, just wait for the completion. They dealt with the dreaded insurance company for me. I would 100% recommend this place for your car body work. Really positive experience! I hope I don’t have to use a body shop again, but if I do, I will definitely choose B&L.
The receptionists were quick and courteous at drop off. I found their pricing fair and their turn-​around time above average. When I went to go pick up my car, the process was quick and they even give you a small goody bag — so thoughtful. Gino was very polite and escorted me to my (freshly washed) car and made sure the work done was satisfactory. They even had the car warming up for me. It’s the little touches that made a big difference.

It seems almost wrong to give a body shop a 5 star rating. NONE are ever that good. NONE. EVER.
WRONG. Someone hit my wife’s Prius and the bumper had to be replaced. Their insurance suggested B&L as one of the possible places we could go. Went there not expecting much more than an average experience despite what I read on Unilocal!Went expecting cranky clerks, grumpy mechanics. NOT. Cheerful clerks offering me a water or coffee. Mechanic that introduced himself with eye contact assuring me that he would follow my car from beginning to end to make sure it was fixed right. What was this place?
The work was great. Let me drop off Enterprise Rental there once the car was ready, gave me a NICE long sleeve t-​shirt and a small but useful goodie bag to thank me for my business, and treated me like they were damn happy to have my business. CRAZY. GREAT. SERVICE.

Gino and staff are awesome! I’ve gone here to get my bumper replaced due to a couple of minor fender benders over the last couple of years. I never think twice about where to go because they do the job right and the customer service is impeccable. This is my spot. Do not hesitate to give these folks your business!!!

AMAZING company and people working here! My car was involved in a hit and run accident and I had it brought to B&L and they made me feel like family. Gave me more information than any other autobody would give when your car is totaled and was extremely welcoming and sympathetic to my situation. This is a family run company, and whether you are family or not, they make you feel like you are! Gino was so nice and sat down with me and walked me through the process. Truly a wonderful person and businessman. I would recommend this autobody to anyone!

I had some body work done with them, and all I can say is they did a superb job!
I picked up my vehicle at night, so I wasn’t able to see everything until morning.
I had work done on passenger, rear door, and quarter panel.
I saw no flaws! When it comes to my vehicle I’m very thorough, so I was really amazed that I couldn’t find anything.
I highly recommend B&L for body work!

After getting rear-​ended, the other party’s insurance handled the claim and gave B&L as an option. Living in a city as big as Chicago you have your pick of the litter when it comes to Auto Repair Shops. With that being said, when a business has close to 200 reviews and has a 5 star rating, that will raise eyebrows. I decided on B&L and am glad I did. Here is a breakdown as to why:
1.) Reception was friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, I was greeted and the paperwork process was started right away. I was also offered coffee and water.
2.) Bob P. the General Manager dealt with me personally and gave me a complete breakdown of the work that needed to be done.
3.) Vehicle was supposed to be competed in a day-​and-​a-​half but was delayed by a day. This wasn’t an issue at all due to the fact that the company went above and beyond to fix my issue as well as a few others. While they didn’t completely fix every other blemish on my car, they did take care of a few minor things with the paint they had left.
4.) At pick up, the vehicle was nice and clean and I received a few trinkets from them as well.
If ever I need to do body work on my car again, I will definitely go back to this business.

Always top notch service! I’ve been coming here for 30 years. The three keys to choosing a body shop is to find one that does great work, is reasonably priced and is honest. B&L is all three.
We’ve brought cars in for minor to major repairs and they have always turned out great. A couple of days ago I brought my car in because a windy day caught my drivers door and whipped it open. Open too far i guess because my window wouldn’t roll down more than half way after. I called B&L. They said come in. Two hours later it was fixed. On another occasion I dropped off one of my company cars that was only a week old after it was wrapped around a pole. A week later it was good as new.
They are great with the insurance companies which has always made for a seamless experience. Get into an accident. Call your insurance company. Drop off car at B&L. Insurance guys go there and B&L deals with them. It’s always worked out great for me. No hassles.
I’ve also carelessly left my belongings in the car when I dropped it off. At pickup time everything was always still there.
I’ve recommended B&L to many friends over the years and I’m happy to say that I’ve helped build their customer base because everyone has always reported back that they had a great experience.
My custom jeep friends have had specialty parts put on at B&L and said that the work was great and the price was too.

There’s a long story tied to how I was referred to get to B&L Auto (I’ll spare you the details) but the skinny is that from the moment I walked into the door at B&L the service was top notch!
The ladies at the front were very busy when I walked in but made it a point to greet me and say Hello, that they would be with me in just a moment. I was offered a bottle of water, coffee and another option while I waited.
Once they began taking a look at the car I felt in good hands. The gentleman that inspected the car, Bob, definitely build credibility as he began to tell me his background in the car industry. He walked me through what work would need to be completed on my vechile, the time in which it would take and the estimated cost involved.
The team at B&L was great with arranging a vehicle while my car was in the shop getting repaired and was able to get the car transported back to the rental car location for me.
Now the most important part — the work done to my car! Simply put it was impeccable! I drive an Audi S5 and love the car. I was hurt (on the inside) when I found that someone had hit the car while in the parking lot. Now, I think the car even looks better since the incident.
I would recommend anyone with any sort of cosmetic damage to their vechile to see Bob and Gino at B&L Auto. They run a great business and you will be in excellent hands!

My neighbor hit my car recently which dented my front bumper (minor damage). My neighbor was really apologetic about it and he recommended I head to B&L and he said he’d pay for the repairs. Yesterday I went to B&L and was greeted by Gino who initially gave me a little grief about not having an appointment but proceeded to fix the dent AT NO CHARGE. (!)
It didn’t take him long to fix it either; 10 minutes max. In fact I think it took me longer to believe Gino that he really wasn’t going to charge anything. Now I get it — it wasn’t THAT big a dent and didn’t require that much work to hammer it out. But still I was like «hey what’s the catch» and Gino was like «there’s no catch I’m just being honest!» In all fairness there were still some very minor scuffs and scrapes on the bumper — but honestly some of that could have been there before my neighbor hit me; this is Chicago after all and my car is 13 years old — and Gino gave me an estimate to fix all that but it really wasn’t necessary and he definitely didn’t push me into having that extra work done.
What a great experience! I smile just thinking about it lol. Thank you Gino and B&L, keep up the great service!
