Meet the Business Owner

Jovo J.

Business Owner

Jovo started his career as a banker in his hometown of Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the 1976, Jovo, his father, and siblings began building a three-​story family weekend house in the mountain of Vlasic. The eco– friendly house is made of lumber indigenous to the area. Working on that house for many years, Jovo developed his love and skills for woodworking. He has earned numerous certifications related to this business.

When he moved to the United States in 1995, he used his carpentery skills to remodel his new home in Rockford and build a three-​car garage from scratch. He realized that he could turn his carpentry hobby into a profitable, spiritually rewarding business venture. In 2001, along with his two sons, he started, Areté Renovators. Soon he moved his business and family to Chicago, and expanded his remodeling projects throughout metropolitan Chicago area. Jovo and his wife, Vikica live in Chicago, Illinois.
