32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack

There are problems with recycling pick up. Waste management is placing impossible to remove orange stickers on blue containers. Picking up recycling is a public service and something our taxes pay for.

Not being a Chicago native, I never really knew what to think of Aldermen. In the past all stories I had heard about aldermen involved bribes.
Recently though, we have been experiencing a terrible rat problem on our block, yard and sadly basement… made worse by excessive trash in the alley behind our house. We’ve tried everything including the possibility of adopting and introducing feral cats!
My tenant took it upon herself though to call our Alderman’s office to leave a message. Imagine her surprise when Scott actually answered the call and spent half an hour talking to her. As soon as the call was over, he sent his head of streets and sanitation to the block. He removed a non-​compliant trashcan and has also put a plan in to add trash cans.
The rats are apparently at bay, but regardless, Scott absolutely gets my vote and it didn’t cost a cent!

I have had nothing but a positive experience in every interaction with Alderman Waguespack and his staff. We have contacted the office for assistance from everything from excessive trash from the neighboring rental building to ongoing issues with a neighboring commercial property (and of course rats). Our concerns are always quickly addressed by the appropriate staff member or delegated out to the proper city department (which we normally hear from within a week or two). From my experience, I can assure you that if given proper evidence of a problem (photos etc.), that the Alderman’s staff always does as much as they can to fix a problem (assuming it falls under their umbrella). After coming from a truly incompetent Alderman that only cared about his own agenda (near Wrigley Field), the last 3+ years under Waguespack have truly been a pleasure!

After being transfered all around the city of Chicago, I finally got transfered here. Mary took it into her own hands to figure things out for me and I am extremely grateful.

First… i’ve lived in Chicago 25+ years, so I know what to look for when parking my car.
I was improperly given a parking ticket in Ald. Waguespack’s district (where i’ve worked the past 3 ½ years) I contacted his office and was adivised to contest via mail with photographs showing no signs posted. It was also noted that that particular area has caused a bit of trouble with other drivers and they have been looking to get a sign posted. In addition, it was suggested I contact the City of Chicago about getting a proper sign erected. Needless to say, the city refused my contestment. No surprise there. When I again contacted Alderman’s office, Elizabeth said to me «we don’t fix parking tickets». First of all, I wasn’t looking for any special favor, however why should I pay $ 75 (in 21 days or it doubles) when I did nothing wrong? And isn’t it the Alderman’s duty to be the voice of the community? NOTE… there is still no sign in said spot, and there are still unsuspecting people parking there. Again, I know this because I work around the corner. I again contacted his office, with no return call.
In the twenty five years living in Chicago, I’ve only reached out to my aldermen twice. Hats off to alds. Hellen Schiller and Richard Mell. They served their community!
I cannot say the same for Ald. Scott Waguespack.

Alderman Scott W. has a well run, efficient, informed office. The staff and Alderman Scott W. are all smart, well organized and good people. There are some wards in Chicago where the alderman and their offices stand out as being top quality. The 32^nd Ward is one of the winners for being top notch.

Stu P., I believe you are misinformed. How exactly is the Alderman «money-​grubbing» concerning this case? Name the developer that you believe he was in cahoots with on this property.
How does an Alderman «use police» to evict people? Where are your facts?

Alderman Scott Waguespack is an avaricious, cowardly, money grubbing fiend who through out a black family who lived in their home for 40 years on trumped up charges because he wanted them to sell their home to more of his «people» and used the police to violently evict on trumped up charges of «dog abuse»…there was no dog abuse, one of their dogs got sick from 100 degree heat and collapsed on their front yard, it was taken to the vet and recovered.
This man is part of the Wall Street evil doers who use people.
He should be run out of town.
