2 X 10 Nails & Spa

Needed a new nail place and decided to stop in on a Sunday morning. Only had to wait 5ish minutes before being taken care of. Got a regular manicure and the lady that did my nails did them to perfection! The hand/​arm/​back massage was a nice little treat too. Prices are pretty normal for a salon in the city, but I had to pay an extra $ 5 to get my previous no chip taken off. Will definitely be coming back

I want to love this place again and keep trying in hopes but no luck. Five years ago, the were hands-​down the BEST nail salon in Lakeview. Unfortunately, over the past 2 ½ years or so the quality just gets worse and worse.
I was a regular here, but moved away 4 years ago (2011). When I can back for a visit in 2012 I went here twice and the service and quality was still top notch. During my 2013, I noticed all of the nail technicians had changed over and the mani/​pedi quality could only be described as fair, at best.
By the time I was visiting last summer (2014), everyone I knew who went here all said don’t go anymore, this included my sister, aunt and former boss. I didn’t come in for a mani/​pedi, but was in desperate need of an eyebrow wax before a wedding and was shopping on Southport so it was convenient. Terrible decision. The woman who waxed my brown burned me… Bad. When I pointed out the burn, she completely denied it and said I had the burn mark under my eye when I came in! First off, how would I burn myself there when my brows hadn’t been waxed in 6 weeks?! Second IF say I did have a burn (which I didn’t) she should have told me that she couldn’t use wax in that spot. Being injured and then lied to is the most insulting thing. When I showed the owner, she was gracious, apologized and didn’t make me pay for the service; however the esthetician was at the front yelling at me and accusing me of lying and injuring myself!
Skip to this past Friday in 2015 when I decided to give 2×10 one more chance and certainly regret wasting my time and money here. The woman doing my mani/​pedi blazed through my pedicure in under 20 minutes and never even used lotion on my feet/​legs. She required very specific instructions on how to cut and file nails as if she had never done it before. The lotion she used was watered down and rather than rubbing it all in, she wiped most of it off with a towel! Useless. The neck and shoulder massage, which they used to set a 5 minute timer for is now under 45 seconds. I know, I counted. And my manicure looks like crap. My nails are all filed unevenly, the nail polish is uneven, and the nails on my left hand are all noticeably longer than the right. And to top it off 7 of my nails chipped within 24 hours.
I think I FINALLY learned my lesson and will never be returning to 2×10!

Had a wonderful mani/​pedi today with Egy. She didn’t cut up my cuticles as so many other places do, she was gentle and friendly. Left feeling refreshed after all the arm, leg, neck and shoulder massages. They play nice calming music, not bad music videos or talk shows. Definitely recommend 2×10 and Egy!

I love this place! I’ve come here for a mani/​pedi many times. The leg, foot, arm hand and shoulder message included free of charge was great. My technician really did a great job. Last time I went, I couldn’t stop looking at how perfect my nails were for days!

This place is awesome! The atmosphere is wonderful, the people are nice and my manicure looks great. go to Genie she was so kind and acomdating took her time to make them look perfect. which they do! Will come back again

I’ve been coming here for manis, pedis, and no-​chips for almost 4 years. I’ve never had a bad experience. There are (2) TV screens mounted on the walls for customers to watch while getting polish applied; but they are muted with closed caption, so it won’t interrupt your thoughts if you need the quiet (it’s usually Food Network or E!).
I usually call ahead to make sure I can get in, and 90% of the time I can get in within the next hour. I’ve always had very friendly, high-​quality service from everyone (Egy is probably my favorite tech); and on more than one occasion they’ve redone nails for me that I somehow manage to screw up before walking out the door.
I always leave pretty relaxed and happy with my nails. My only wish is that the massage part of my pedicure was a little longer because it’s my favorite part! Keep up the great service!

This place really is hit or miss. The man that manages the front desk/​phones is super friendly and accomodating with scheduling. However, the no-​chip manicures have never been overly impressive, and they aren’t cheap either ($ 35 + tip). I got them done two days ago, and they are already looking pretty bad and the lady that did them was not very friendly and seemed mad that my nails were short. Another time I got them done, the lady that did them was super sweet and took more time to make sure they looked good and they even lasted longer. It really is hit or miss! For me, the location is convenient as they are located right around the corner from the apartment, but if that wasn’t the case, I probably wouldn’t make a special trip to get my nails done here.

Very disappointed after my last visit here. I was in on the Wednesday. By the time i got home, two nails had chipped. Fast forward to a week later, and another has chipped. Luckily, my pedi is still in tact. The woman who did my mani/​pedi seemed as if I was inconveniencing her. She was nothing short of rude and very rough. I’ve been to this salon a handful of times, but after the bad customer service, I am sad to say I won’t be returning.

I got a no chip manicure with a friend on Saturday. By Sunday night both thumbs had already chipped to the point where I needed to buy nail glue to keep the rest of my thumb paint from chipping off. My rating would be lower if it weren’t for the manicurists excellent customer service and attention to our needs. They gave us hand/​arm and neck/​back massages. Really wish my nails hadn’t chipped. (My friends nails chipped too.)

They did an excellent job! My friend and I came across this place when pure nirvana spa down the street had no technicians on a Sunday working yet they were open… weird and TG Nails had no availability and I’m glad they didn’t because we never would have found this place which ended up being great. They are reasonably priced at $ 40 for a mani/​pedi and the staff is super friendly. I’ll be headed back soon.

I go here every Monday or Tuesday for a manicure. They’re always able to get me in even if I call the day of. I rarely have to wait and generally most of the technicians do a good job. I can tell the owners of the place really appreciate my business, they work hard, and they are very friendly. My favorite tech is Bee, but she is often busy… I’m pretty sure that’s because she is many peoples favorite!

Fungus problem. Went here for years. Place is getting busier and they are not cleaning good enough.

I love this place. I’ve been to many a salon, including this one several times. It’s bright and fresh and not cramped. My experience has always been good here, but tonight I had Jane and she was awesome! Fabulous arm and neck massage. And she did a great job with my nails too. Clipped them down exactly how I wanted them and did the French portion perfectly. It’s hard to get that right. I’ll be back to see Jane.

My experience with 2×10 was such a pleasant surprise! I walked in and of course the ambience is typical of a nail salon, factory-​like… nonetheless the service was the best I had ever had. The women at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly, I was immediately taken care of and received the most wonderful manicure and back massage. My nail technician was Bee and she was so precise and gentle; my nail’s are fit for perfection. And did I mention all of the guest;s received a complimentary hand lotion for the holidays?

Besides the wait which was a bit longer than promised, I had a wonderful time! Tina the nail technician was friendly and really did a fantastic job on my nails! Didn’t rush even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon. 3 days later my manicure still looks perfect (and I don’t do no chip). The $ 20 ($ 15 + $ 5 tip) was well worth it! If you go early during the week the manis are $ 12. It just didn’t fit into my schedule this time. Definitely will go back to Tina!

What I like most about this place is everyone is good at what they do. I am not a regular and I’ve had a mani/​pedi with a different person every visit and I have never been disappointed.
Ladies, give them a try. There is nothing like a good mani/​pedi. Hoo– rah!

I love this little salon. Especially on Tuesdays. When in Chicago, I always go on Tuesdays because a great mani/​pedi is only $ 32. With tip, I know I can get out of there for less than $ 40 and have had a relaxing couple of hours.
They have those big, comfy massage chairs and will adjust the water temperature of the soak to your pleasure. Also, they have a HUGE selection of Essie and OPI nail colors, including whatever the newest collections are. They stay on top of the polish situation, so you should be able to find a color that suits your mood. And, if you are like me and like butter London or Spa Ritual, they will use your color without complaining.
I also like that if you are a regular, you can keep a box there of your own personal manicure and pedicure tools. You’ll see these in little, clear boxes on the back wall. It’s nice knowing that those tools only touch your toesies and no one else’s.
I usually request Grace. She does a great job and is very through with callus removal. Ask her to use the lotion and wrap your feet in plastic while it softens… you won’t regret that.
After your manicure, you can expect a neck massage, in addition to the leg and arm massage that they administer before they put on your polish of choice. You can pay a few bucks extra to extend that neck massage, but I never do. It’s just great as it is.
You can make an appointment, or you can just walk in. If they are running a little slow, just put down your name and hit up some of the cute boutiques on Southport while you wait. Makes the waiting time just fly!
Oh, and they have giant TVs throughout, but they are constantly showing Kardashian shows! That is the only negative in my book. Just bring your headset and tune out to your music. They will have plenty of magazines for you to read while you are being polished.
Go ahead and use the drying station. After you are done, they will put cuticle oil on you and use some quick dry spray for some extra protection before you head out the door. Oh, if it is cold and you are wearing shoes, they will wrap the tips of your feet in plastic to protect your polish. Just put your socks on over and slip on your shoes and you should be fine.
Just one word of warning, check the massage chair before you start your pedicure. If the other chairs aren’t all full, you may want to switch chairs because a couple of them do not work properly. The chairs will shake but the roller will not massage. Kind of sucks if you were hoping to relax your back while your toes were prettied.

With the abundance of nail salons in this city — there’s no reason to pay for anything less than a great job.
My cuticles weren’t properly pushed back or trimmed. My feet have been smoother using the ped egg. My polish (that didn’t cover the entire nail in the first place) chipped in 2 days. All that with less then personable techs.
Luckily I had a gal pal and a bottle of bubbly in tow — at least it was a killer gossip session.

It’s proximity to shopping is the reason why I’ve gone here in the past. There’s a Jewel and CVS right there, making it very convenient. However, convenience isn’t everything, when there is a definite lack of quality to services offered. By far THE WORST No-​chip manicure I have ever received. My «no-​chip» lasted for a paltry 3 days. Since they offer a two week guarantee, I went back to get the one nail fixed, which again lasted 3 days. Are you kidding me?
In addition, they’re not incredibly gentle or particularly thorough with the actual manicure. Barely a push back for my cuticles before they started trimming away.
So, come here for a regular mani-​pedi, make sure to do it on a Monday or Tuesday to get the most value. But under no circumstances should you get the no-​chip.

Being 9 months pregnant means it’s impossible to paint your toes. Just so you know.
Unprinted toenails bug me and since I can’t do it myself now, I gotta pay someone to. I’ve walked by this place a million times and have seen the ads in the windows for their Monday/​Tuesday special. I’m a mess with manicures so I skipped it, went straight for just a pedi.
The girl did a great job and took her time. I almost ran out of time on the meter she took such a long time… and that’s a good thing. Because it wasn’t crowded they let me sit in the massage chair while my toes dried instead of rushing me into the drying area. Sweet.
A week later, no chips, no cuts… just loveliness.
