1048 Sky Lounge – Wrigley Rooftop

The good: the view is pretty decent into the stadium for a ball game.
The bad: basically everything else. This is a poor man’s rooftop. The food is mediocre. The atmosphere is, too. The other rooftops seemed to be laid out a lot better and everyone at the other rooftops seemed to be having a lot more fun.

Blows for concerts. Love Chicago. Not a fan of the organization that runs this place.

I give them ZERO stars but forced to give one by system. Tickets were offered last year to watch the upcoming Foo fighters concert on this rooftop using Groupn. 7 months later they now decide to cancel due to «unforeseen circumstances». No better explanation and now no tickets. Poor business people. Thanks for ruining our anniversary night Chris!

We thought we bought for 1038 Waveland but we were redirected to 1048 Waveland. Big difference in view. Misrepresentation of sale. Watched manager or owner yell at staff for talking to loud. Couldn’t have been any louder than the fans. Geez. I suggest 3639 Sheffield best rooftop I’ve been too. Pass this one up.

The claim that 1048 Sky Lounge makes about no blocked views is a bit misleading. While there’s no signage from Wrigley Field blocking your view, if you’re not sitting down in their outdoor lounge or near the top of their bar style seating, the roof to the left blocks a good portion of the outfield, causing you to look through railing for any balls hit to center or left field. I’ve uploaded a picture as an example.
I’ve only sat on two of the rooftops (this one and Wrigleyville Rooftops) so I don’t have a ton to compare the food to but I thought the standard grilled items (burgers, brats, chicken) and the dessert options were better at Wrigleyville Rooftops. I did enjoy their southwest appetizers though.

I had to give these guys 5 stars due to how great they have been in helping me plan a get together for a group of friends. The teams have been very responsive and accommodating with all of my questions and concerns. I am looking forward to the game next month!

Long wait for food… not a good selection for food or drink… no outside tvs or sound… very small… skip this one… go to Sheffield… Blocked view…

I’ve been to 5 different rooftops over the years. This wasn’t the best nor was it the worst.
The Good:
— All employees were awesome. From the time you are met at the door until the time you left, everyone working the rooftop was courteous and helpful. I’d say better than any other rooftop I’ve been to.
— Food was excellent. I had their pulled pork (twice), Italian sausage, hot dog, and a taco. (Hey, don’t judge! I had every intent of getting my money’s worth!) The chicken sandwiches and burgers looked good but I didn’t make it that far down the menu.
— Desert was OK. there were lots of cookies but only got one brownie, but it was worth stealing it from the other guy.
— The view wasn’t bad at all. It was a great angle and from just about anywhere, you could see the field and the action.
— Bartenders were great and they had a beer selection of about 5 or 6 different kind of beer; all of which were nice and cold, so that was good enough for me.
The OK (I would have said bad but there wasn’t one thing that was bad)
— There’s two levels. The indoor level was a bit small. When it started raining most everyone jumped in for cover so space was a bit tight but it wasn’t bad.
— The seating was a bit tight. Then again there were seven of us all well over 200lbs sitting and eating next to each other.
All in all, I would come back again for the price we were offered. We had lots of room, corners, etc to stand around, talk, take pictures and overall have a great time.
If there were a way to have a bar closer to the bleachers, then I would have been extremely happy. Instead I had to walk down a flight of stairs or two to get a refill on everything. My wife would have said it was a good way to burn off all the calories I was ingesting!

This place is AWESOME! We had a bachelorette party there on Saturday, April 19 and had a blast. They conveniently paired us with the bachelor party and all were so much fun. The food was good-​although I didn’t eat the amount of food of which I paid, but the endless beer and company was worth it. Thanks so much! Hwood

NEVER DID I ASK FOR A REFUND –I AM NOT A FRIEND OF ANY OTHER REVIEW OF 1048 SKY LOUNGE! — The Price paid was never my issue — the issue was the website showed a wide variety of food to be offered, of which there was not! My Unilocal review is consistent with several others who state items not same as stated on website. 1048 Sky Lounge promotes having a large menu of appetizers, food, and desserts — this was not delivered at the Jason Aldean Concert. I do not appreciate the owner of 1048’s slanderous comments to my review! I do not know Pat, but based upon Chris’ unprofessional comments and commenting 6 months after the fact — it further demonstrates 1048 Sky Lounges’ lack of customer service — any owner should have been on top of this sooner. Chris was emailed directly after the event and failed to respond. He is now acknowledging a Unilocal Review — must be concerned with the upcoming Cubs season that their misleading advertising of services and food provided will be made known to the public! Two people who do not know each other providing similar reviews on an event demonstrated that the event did not live up to their advertisements. Two people have reviewed this independent of knowing one another — it is possible that others had a bad time! We spoke with many others who felt the same — they just did not fill out a Unilocal Review. I stand independent of any other person reviewing 1048 Sky Lounge that I would never go here again! Ironically we were just talking of Roof Top Venues for the upcoming baseball season today — and we will steer clear of 1048 Sky Lounge! Chris should improve the quality of 1048 Sky Lounge, then he wouldn’t have to mislead people on Unilocal — focus on providing to the consumer what you advertise will be there! Chris now responds and is derogatory and rude in his responses and emails. Chris — please be professional and do not continue to state I know this Pat. Please instead deliver what is advertised then perhaps your Unilocal Ratings will improve!

I have to preface I did not pay for this experience as it was covered for a company event. So the little things didn’t piss me off. Overall it was a good experience with a great view of Wrigley Field.
They did not have all the items that were listed on their website. That’s not a huge issue to me. No wings or quesadillas. The Chicago dog, meatballs, and cheese burger were all good eats. A few of the beers listed weren’t being served. Amstel Light is fine with me and they served an assortment of lite beers, summer shandy, etc. etc.
The service was pleasant and the bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. Sure there were a few missteps but I can’t really call them out on it. I had an enjoyable day unlike Pat F. (really upset about those Mike’s hard lemonades buddy?).
At any rate I felt the need to write a review that reflected an actual experience. Perhaps others came on an off day or maybe this wasn’t the location they were at. The view is legit, eat and drink all day, and enjoy yourself. We had a 2+ hour rain delay and they served everything during this time without a hitch.

All in all a good experience. Not quite as advertised — showed up to 1048 location and told we had to go to another location (seemed all the Groupon crowd were sent there, apparently).
Bad: The food and drink choices were lacking — not what was listed in the advertisement. No photographer. No souvenir ticket.
Good: No long lines for concessions or restrooms. Great view of the action. Clean place, friendly staff.
Overall, a good deal and we had a lot of fun!

This might be the smallest (least impressive) rooftop I’ve been to (I’ve been to almost all of them).
