Unfortunately, years ago, my wedding rings had to be cut off. After years of wearing them around my neck on a chain my husband and I finally looked for help to fix them. We also needed to go up a couple sizes and have them soldered together to become one ring. I found Eric through Google, made a quick phone call, and after speaking with him I went in so he could see my rings in person. Not only was he so polite and an honest business man, he was also very affordable! We estimated the ring would take at least a week but within 4 days it was completed. When I saw it I could not believe how beautiful it looked! It looked absolutely breath taking; sparkly and new! I was so impressed I decided to write him a good review on Unilocal… Not having checked Unilocal while making my selection I was not surprised to see just how many good reviews he has on here. I inherited my grandfather’s solitaire diamond necklace after he passed, and I had wanted it to become part of my wedding set. With something so near and dear to my heart and so sentimental, I knew I had to find someone I could trust to handle creating something new out of the old. The big box jewelry stores made me nervous (told me they had to «send it out») and almost every one tried to get me to purchase a new stone. When I took the diamond to Eric, I explained its significance, and he handled it with care and recognized the beauty in it. I felt completely comfortable. I turned over the diamond to my now husband, and he had a great experience picking out a setting with Eric. After the proposal, we returned to have custom bands designed and created. Eric is so knowledgeable and so creative! His excitement about what he does is refreshing… you can tell he loves his craft. We ended up with the most gorgeous and unique rings, complete with black diamonds. I get compliments everywhere I go!
Upon picking up the rings, we asked Eric if he had taken a picture for his portfolio. He told us that he doesn’t use a portfolio, because every custom ring should be unique, and he doesn’t want couples coming in and picking one of those as their own. I thought that was a wonderful thing… it shows how much he cares about his previous clients, and how much effort he will put into finding something unique and great for his future clients.

Eric has been absolutely amazing and a «ring saver». We had my wife’s engagement band custom designed in Chicago and absolutely love the way it looks, however we have had some challenges with the micro diamonds on the sides coming out and the center diamond shifting when the ring gets out of round. Eric has been able to keep it looking great especially when he replated the white gold. We took it to him right before we went to a wedding out of town and due to a miscommunication about holiday hours we were not able to pick it up before we left and my wife felt naked without her ring. Eric coordinated overnight shipping and she felt so much better with her ring back on her finger. I would not hesitate to recommend him for repairs as his pricing has always been amazing and his custom work on display looks beautiful.

Eric is AMAZING!!! I will never go to another jeweler again. He is the nicest man and knows everything about jewelry. He made life so easy for my now husband and I and took the 70 year old platinum diamond engagement ring that has been in my husband’s family and made it look brand new and perfectly sized it. He even built and customized my wedding ring to go perfectly with my engagement ring that my husband and Eric designed together. I couldn’t ask for a better jeweler and person. He helped me pick out the perfect wedding ring for my husband and even gave me a 15% discount. I am so glad I came here to get my ring cleaned, polished and rhodium plated– my ring has never looked better, not even when it was brand new! Eric is so easy to talk to, after handing over my ring I stayed an additional 10 – 15 minutes just hanging out talking about the good old days.
I had originally taken my ring to fast fix to get cleaned up, but they said I needed all 5 prongs for my pear-​shaped diamond replaced which would cost me close to $ 200. I decided to get a second opinion since the last time my ring was inspected (a little more than 6 months ago) everything was fine. Everything *was* fine. Not only did Eric save me $ 200 in unnecessary work, he surpassed every expectation I had. I’ll never go anywhere else for anything ever again.

I am a jewelers daughter, so after my father passed it was very hard to go to someone else. I took Eric my mothers wedding set that needed repair and he explained to me it should be modified to make it last. He did and I love it! My parents are happy in heaven too.

Absolutely the best! My family has used Eric over the past couple years for wedding bands, an engagement ring, and several repairs. Eric is the best. There’s not a whole lot else to say. My dad has been going to him for over 10 years and when I started to think about proposing to the girl of my dreams, I started to go to him as well. He repaired and resized my great grandmother’s engagement and wedding ring so it would last another lifetime and has made several one-​off pieces for myself and my wife. I lost my grandfather about two years ago and I got his wedding bands from my grandma and step-​grandma so I could turn the two into my wedding band. He has come up with an amazing idea and I’m getting it next week and getting married at the end of the month! I worked with Eric over a period of 5 weeks to get the right engagement ring for my fiancée. I had done over 6 months of research on engagement rings that included visiting other jewelers in town as well as extensive online jeweler research. I could not have been more impressed and thankful of Eric. Wonderful customer service. He even called my fiancée and I multiple times to give us updates on the status of the ring as well as calling us after the ring was completed to congratulate us on the engagement and make sure there weren’t any problems with the ring. Wonderful jeweler. An artist. Did custom work for us and it turned out beautifully. I’ll definitely be a returning customer.

We have used the Gemsetter for more than eight years. He has completed everything from custom designs to cleaning my wife’s rings. (a free service I might add) We have found him to be exceedingly honest, willing to share his knowledge, and open to listen to your needs. Short note, several years ago, I purchased an expensive watch from Eric. The band was defective and the manufacturer for some reason could not replace the band. Eric promptly gave me a full refund… no question, no hassles! That one transaction told me this is an honest man who truly cares for his customers.

I met eric and was not impressed with his insulting comments regarding me purchasing a platinum ring. Which my finance already has. He seemed to attempt to make me, regret for buying a metal 3 times the worth and more rare than gold.
He said I will regret buying this ring and everyone regrets platinum. Knowing I had already purchased it and more competitive than he could ever match. He’s a typical shyster
I walked out of his store regretting something I worked so hard to purchase for my future wife.

I am very impressed with Eric at Gemsetter. We approached him having acquired a stone and a ring, and learned a lot about porosity and other issues which are pervasive when getting jewelry on the Internet.
With Eric’s expert advice (and some stone envy), we kept our stone and returned the overly porous setting acquired via the Internet. We went with a setting from Gemsetter’s supplier (only $ 100 more in the end) and wound up with a beautiful engagement ring for my lovely bride-​to-​be.
