I’m one of the rare males to give a review for this place. I had a fairly bad experience and thought maybe I was just unlucky on my first (and probably last) visit. Now seeing all of the other bad reviews I don’t feel so alone in my opinion. Although the place looked very nice it appears there is a pattern of bad management/​business here.
I got a coupon in the mail for a discounted men’s cut so thought I would give it a try. Yes, the front desk needs to have «grown ups» working there because they are truly awful. Not too friendly; changed my stylist without notice/​explanation/​apology; charged me the full price when checking out, but corrected after I plead my case with coupon.
Now for the cut. I was absolutely BUTCHERED! Yes, I will drop the name… Tatum. I feel bad giving this review because she seemed really friendly and sweet. Maybe it’s not her fault so much as maybe she wasn’t trained up enough on men’s hair (although master stylist), and it appears Dolce’s client’s are majority female. And maybe Tatum does excellent work on women’s hair… who knows. Her cut took forever and she seemed very hesitant and unsure of herself throughout the entire cut. Worse, the final result was a grossly uneven hack job. I’ve had better cuts in 10 minutes for ¼ of the price.
Overall poor quality with very high prices… definitely a bad combination.

I was in tonight for a spray tan. While I love the tanning service, the customer service is lacking STILL! I had been a long time customer but left because of the front desk people always seemed to act like I was inconveniencing them. I’m a very friendly, outgoing person and even when I was leaving I said, «Thank you have a good night!» And didn’t receive any response. I know it’s a small thing to some but to me, customer service is everything.

My fiancée first introduced me to this salon about a year and a half ago and I was really impressed by it, at first. The stylists seemed friendly, and the atmosphere was very chic and hip! I was confident that they would really know their stuff about good hair care!
I was lucky to be referred to Paige for my first visit, and I continually booked with her after that. She really listened to what I wanted, and she set my expectations realistically. I really appreciate that because sometimes I go into a salon wanting to look like Beyonce and some stylists will actually tell you it’s possible! And then, when I don’t look like Beyonce at the end, I’m like wth? That stuff’s important.
It was unfortunate when I found out that Paige left. She took another job while I was away for military training in another state for a few months, so I wasn’t able to get her contact info either! Paige, if you are reading this, where are you???
Okay, okay, back to my review. Anyway, I needed some major styling when I got back from training and just decided to book an appointment here anyway, with another stylist. She was very friendly but very unrealistic, and now I am paying the price.
I wanted a dramatic look! I’m naturally brunette, but have been blonde in the past, and wanted to try for it again. I went in the salon and told her my ideas, and instead of her saying «whoa there, slow down! Can’t get ya from brown to blonde in one sitting,» she said, «yea, let’s do it! I can get you to be a platinum blonde!» I was very skeptical of this response because when I went blonde before, I did it in waves of highlights. But regardless, she was the expert, and I trusted her judgement!
Mistake. Not only was it a huge SHOCK to see my hair from dark brown to bright, (and I mean bright) blonde, but the blonde was actually quite orange! I guess Orange is the new Platinum?
I cried for like 3 days and then I found another salon to fix it. My hair is really pretty damaged now, from the extended time she left the bleach on. I’m sad that she didn’t recommend a slower approach, but I suppose it’s my fault too for not going with my gut.
All in all, I probably wouldn’t recommend this salon because of the price (very steep), and because of my bad experience.

Let me rewrite my review which they had removed by Unilocal because I mentioned another salon’s name.
I stand by my opinion of this place. Rude, over-​priced and underwhelming. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I find out that they discontinued their recycled bag discount program with no notice what so ever. This program was the only reason I even set foot in this salon any longer. After paying for a bag to receive an ongoing discount on products, I would expect that they continue to honor that or give the buyers a certain period of notice before canceling. Like I’ve said before, this place is over priced for sub par stylists who rent booths, extremely rude, non-​customer centric front desk staff in a worn out, tired space. I recommend checking out ANY other salon. Your wallet, your hair and your dignity with thank you!

I’ve given them a try about 4 – 5 times because the 1^st I got my hair dyed I really liked it. But the times after that it was just okay. What finally made me decided to write a review is yesterday I went in and sat for three hours. I asked if they could do and ombré type look I straight up said if not that’s okay let just do some highlights. I was told we could do a mix of both a work out way up to a lighter color. Okay great. Well after sitting there and paying over 100 for my hair to be colored I left there with my hair looking EXACTLY the same. She dyed my hair exactly the same color it already was. I had bleach in my hair so the toner she used much of just put it right back to what it already was. Every person I have asked have told me my hair looks no different. I’m very disappointed.

I’ve been going here for almost a year and a half. Im so done! Let me tell you, every time I go, I worry about the last minute surprises when I go pay because they keep doing add ons without telling me before hand. My last visit I was disappointed. I had to pay double for hair correction each were $ 85. Ok, that was understandable but its not what they told me over the phone .So total is 170. I told the stylist I didnt want to go over that fee. I made that clear because I barely had enough with me. Then I got two different assistants to rinse my hair at different times. Didnt like that. Then one of them blow dried my hair. She was bad! I asked her how long she’s been there, and she said only three weeks. I know a bad stylist when they are blowing out my hair and part of my hair isn’t blown out well and still damp. I had to tell her, its still wet on top of my head. I just wanted to get up and walk away. Once done, I went to pay. The front desk said, your total is 200! I’m like, why??? She said I had 2 color correction each costing 85. ok I knew that, but what’s the $ 30 from? She said, oh for the conditioning treatment. I responded, I told her I’m on budget, why she had that as an add on? I was not notify. Yes the stylist did tell me she added the treatment in the color but she never told me that that was an addition! I was livid! For that I could of had her do an olapex treatment. Bottom line, I couldn’t even leave her a good tip because I was short. Now I’m going to Scottsdale and have a male stylist take care of my hair. I feel like you don’t have 101 with them. You always have to call in and speak to a 3^rd party person who is not in front of you to see your immediate needs and tell you exactly what your fees will be. Every time I go in, I’m paying an arm and a leg. I’m going back to my old days were I had a male stylist take time on me, does my hair from begining to end, meaning blow dry it and style. Someone who knows your hair like the palm of their hands. I can’t stand assistants, that’s what dolce offers, unless you want to pay your stylist $ 25 more to blow dry it.
Bottom line, if you want more of a personal hairstylist who can talk to you face to face, and is upfront with the fees, search somewhere else. I liked them at first but I don’t love them enough to continue using their services. To me, I feel like they are more about making money and spend less time with their clients. You don’t feel well taken care of. Honestly, I don’t care if I have to drive from chandler to north Scottsdale to see a well worth it stylist. I rather do that and pay a great tip (because im a great tipper) and get great quality service than paying over $ 200 of my hard working money and get treated like nothing!
BTW, you have 14 days to go back to get you hair redone free of charge IF the color didn’t set in correctly or if it changed color from the time you did it. You just pay for a tip. I just found out about this. But they won’t tell you this of course. Wow!
And they gave me a hard time when my colors didn’t come out right. I wish I knew about this sooner!
Moving on to better service. Too overprice!

It was a beautiful place but had a lot going on. Pricey

I have been going to dolce for about 3 years now… And let me say that no where else compares. Yes it can be pricey, but its the best experience you will ever have! The place is to die for, first of all. It’s a girls paradise! Sophisticated, sassy, and the perfect high class environment to get dolled up. The staff is amazing! So friendly, stylish, helpful, and great at what they do! I have seen stylists from the highest levels to the lowest levels, and let me tell you, they are all passionate and great with their craft. Ive been blonde, brunette, short haired, long haired, and even rocked the bangs… And every time the girls here do a fabulous job! Never had a bad experience here and i would recommend it to anyone! Nicole is my girl! She’s the best! :)

My experience here was less than average, which is disappointing considering I spent a pretty good chunk of money on their services.
Front desk staff was probably the best part of the experience. When I called to book my massage the front desk employee (Adrian, I believe?) was very pleasant and I was on and off the phone with an appointment booked within a few minutes. He was also able to reschedule my appointment quickly when something came up without any problems.
My boyfriend and I came in for a 90-​minute couple’s deep tissue massage and everything was simply… average. I had never been to Dolce before so I was expecting my money’s worth. The massage itself was nice but nothing special. I originally went in because I have a tense muscle in my neck that gives me frequent headaches and I was hoping it would loosen up after the massage. Let’s just say I’ve had much cheaper massages done before that were just as good as this one.
My therapist asked me several times throughout the massage if the pressure was okay, and it felt fine to me, so I told her yes. Afterwards, she told me that because I was tensing up and flinching the whole time, she had to press softer than usual during my massage. She said that even though I had told her the pressure was okay, she knew I wasn’t being truthful because I kept flinching. I felt relaxed the whole massage and don’t recall flinching once so I’m really not sure what this was about. I didn’t really appreciate her assumption that I was being dishonest either. Regardless, my neck felt better for about a half an hour after the massage and then I felt the pain and a headache coming on again…
Experience was okay but most definitely not worth the $ 300 I spent on it. Next time I’ll make sure to look on Unilocal at these reviews before wasting my money.

If I could give zero stars I would.
I had the absolute worst hair services, and front desk service. Dolce lost my business forever.
The stylist Bernice I always go to was booked, so unfortunately I went to Alicia. I was booked for highlights, and haircut. The highlights were done completely wrong, and instead of blond highlights, I ended up with brassy orange highlights. I was unhappy and asked to just go back to my original color.
After I was argued with by Alicia she very begrudgingly, and sloppily re-​did my hair. Maybe as payback, or maybe she is not at the level 5 I was told she was. I stupidly let her cut my hair which was suppose to be long layers, and just turned out a choppy unorganized mess.
Then I was put in the most uncomfortable chair in the salon, and a trainee stylist tried to blowout my hair. She was literally ripping my hair out, I finally asked her to stop. I got up not being able to take anymore, and asked for my bill.
The catalyst to this whole experience was at the front desk checkout. The salon tried to charge me for nonexistent highlights. I was willing to pay for the horrible haircut, and root touch up, but not the highlights.
The receptionists had the in professionalism to tell me if I didn’t pay for the nonexistent highlights they could call the police on me. There was never any form of an apology, any compassion for the bad service I received, and the manager never came out.
I was so disappointed by this experience, that Dolce has lost my patronage forever.
On a happy note I found an absolutely outstanding salon called The Roots in Phoenix. They were able to fix the damage done at Dolce.

Will never go to this salon be ready to spend $$$$$ and not get the service you want I had asked for cut and ombré the color faded out within 3 days the stylist I saw her name was Sara I was advised to see her again to do a redo she was not there at the app that was set saw a different stylist did nothing but made my hair go back to the way it was it was just dark reschedule to see Sara again and she was not there for the 2^nd time and was told had to pay an extra 75 to fix my hair when I was already charged 190 waste of time and money thanks dolce for helping me feel beautiful…

Wow, I am speechless. I do believe all of my hair dreams have come true, at least for now… I came to Dolce today because I knew that many of the stylists here are trained in unique hair color design. I have been interested in having my hair colored into «fire hair» for a while now but I wasn’t sure where I could go to get the look I wanted. After talking to a few friends and checking out Dolce’s website I decided that I would have this color transformation done here.
Kelly was able to completely create the look I was wanting and more. She blending the reds perfectly and on top of that, recommended great product to keep my hair looking vibrant and healthy. She was also able to style my hair exactly like I do everyday, most stylists I have been to can’t get that exactly right.
I am so happy with how my hair turned out. I would highly recommend Dolce, specifically Kelly if you are looking for a creative color design. The price was not bad either for what I had done.

Register staff is always confuse no common sense, had to wait in line for 20 minutes. Hard to make an appointment.
Hair/​nail staff inconsistent service quality. Some lady with an 80’s perm talked my ear off while doing a pedicure told me about how little she made, about her kids, how some people have too much money. I left so depress I no longer do my nails there just to avoid her. Hair staff not consistent providing good quality work sometimes they do great job and sometimes is horrible. Prices are highly consistent.
Spa same thing not able to chose a provider when u book a package and service level and quality inconsistent. Massage booked for 30 minutes are not 30 minutes. Facials have changed they no longer do my anti aging favorites.
They no longer sell B&B products instead they offer some off brand name I never heard off. I use to book whole day packages but no longer do because of these issues.
I wish the quality improved, facials were back and was easier to book.

I’ve gotten my hair cut here the last few times ever since my regular stylist got too expensive. Dolce is pretty pricey, too, but they do that level system so if you get someone who is on the bottom level it is not too bad. The last time I used Jade and she was great. I do think the prices on their spa treatments are way too much. It is not exactly a spa experience you are getting. This place is very upbeat and hip. That may appeal to some, but I would rather have someplace quiet and calm. I think it is mostly popular with the teenagers or college age crowd.

After going to Dolce for several years, receiving services ranging from waxes, massages and hair. I feel it is appropriate to rate my experiences both good and bad.
I have come to realize there is a universal opinion about the associates at the front desk; the majority of which are snark and incredibly entitled (just imagine a 15-​year-​old from Scottsdale). There have been many times when I have entered the building and received the «up-​down» before the door has even closed; ALWAYS a bad start to a «relaxing» appointment.
If I were to recommend any service to someone trying Dolce for the first time, I would suggest going solely for waxing or massages; coincidentally, the waxes and massages are ridiculously overpriced. SO, if you have a gift card or Hunies, I would suggest said services.
I believe today will be my last trip to Dolce for a number of reasons. Upon entering the building I received judgmental looks by staff while being checked in. I received a cut and style from an incredibly sweet stylist (who I am choosing not to disclose). I was trying to transform my grown-​out asymmetrical bob into an inverted bob, clearly there was some miscommunication (despite several photos provided) and when I got home to style my hair «my way» I notices two chunks of hair much longer than the rest (photos attached).
Obviously this was frustrating, but certainly not the end of the world. I called Dolce to ask them to fix their mistake and ended the call feeling like they were doing me a favor (literally telling me if I wanted a higher level to fix it I would have to pay MORE for this «complementary» cut). Thankfully I returned to Dolce and the style was corrected by a stylist who is obviously much more comfortable with shorter cuts.
Loooong story short: There is a reason why their hair services are so inexpensive and discounted; I suggest spending the big bucks and going to Toni and Guy.
I have heard and read many, many complaints about Dolce Salon and Spa. I believe there is a lot of talent in that company, but the company itself is weighing that talent down.
Some advice to the seemingly non-​receptive owner: rebrand, rebrand, rebrand. It is a good time to be a small business owner. The key is to appeal to the consumer; plus your reputation in Chandler is shot.

I’ve been a Dolce customer for about 6 years, which is about the amount of time I’ve been in AZ and I’ve never been to any other salon since moving here. I’ve been through maybe 4 different stylists and the only spa service I had was a brow wax.
I see a lot of people have complaints about Dolce, but most seem to be related to their Spa side which I don’t use (I got a brow wax that one time because I had a Groupon that I needed to use the full value of in one visit, so I tacked that on).
I stay at Dolce because I love my stylist. It’s tough to find someone who cuts your hair just how you like it, particularly when you aren’t just going in for simple trims, and since I have found that someone I stay.
That said, Betty is the absolute best! She’s sweet, personable, and cuts my hair just right each time. I highly recommend her. As long as she is at Dolce I will continue seeing her for my cuts.
I would say that 9 out of 10 times the desk ladies are very friendly. When I’ve had to call to change an appointment the experience has been fine.
I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s on the pricey side. I seem to pay more than anyone I know to just get my hair cut. I’ll keep doing it though simply because I like Betty.

I have a mostly positive experience with Dolce, and although extremely pricey, the previous specials on «Hunnies» (glorified gift cards) that could be purchased for .50 on the dollar made it ALMOST worth it.
When the owner cited the economy as a reason to cancel this regularly ongoing special, I was annoyed to say the least, but we still had a balance left on our Hunnies card from our last service.
My wife went for a color consultation with Adriani and made an appointment after hearing that everything she wanted would be doable. We went with Adriani, because of her «Level 4» status as their stylists are ranked from 1 – 5. The price also goes up the higher the stylist level.
My wife’s hair looks like a box color job that I could do. As with another picture I found on Unilocal,there was left over color on her neck and scalp and the agreed upon style during the consultation was not even CLOSE to achieved!
There was supposed to be an «Ombré» of Black transitioning to red on the tips and my wife wound up with a solid amber color all over. She was also supposed to cut her hair and give her some depth/​layers, and only trimmed the tips and cut off some split ends.
When complaining to the manager, she talked with the stylist in private, and then with the «Director», and then demanded my wife PAY $ 175 for the service! She offered to have another stylist «look» at her hair, but told my wife that if she wanted the «Ombré», her hair would need to be stripped and would probably wind up grey anyway.
I was not at the appointment, or there would have been NO WAY I would have allowed her to pay for a service that was promised to her without complete satisfaction! Super Cuts wouldn’t make you pay for a cut you didn’t like, why should Dolce get to gouge someone after claiming a stylist was «Level 4» and did such a horrible job?
The economy is not the reason Dolce can’t survive offering ²⁄₁ service specials. It’s the fact they seem to alienate the customer base they currently have, as well as push new business away in favor of the super-​rich!
I will update my review as to what MY resolution will be, as I will be visiting the store tomorrow to talk to a manager/​director/​owner! I will also post pictures of what my wife gets to wear on her neck/​scalp now as it appears the dye will not come off of her skin.

At dolce a 50 minute massage really means a 30 minute massage!
Had an appt for a massage at 2pm. Walked in the door at 2:03pm
After waiting in the checkin line– waiting in the massage waiting room– then picking out my scents and stuff by the time the massage was in the room and working on me it was 2:15pm
When did she end? 2:45pm. 30 minutes.
Now listen. I get that they have a schedule to keep and others after me and blah blah blah. But if you need to be at Dolce 15 min before your appt then when you make the appt they need to tell you that!
Just seems absolutely absurd I arrived 3 minutes late and got 20 minutes deducted from my massage time.
I have a feeling this is a scam they’re consistently running– which probably overjoys the masseuses.
Won’t ever return or recommend.

Had a great Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure with my little sis. My issue was booking it under one price and being told another (of course higher) at check-​out. They kind-​of have you at a disadvantage because it’s your word against theirs and the receptionist wasn’t smart enough to make the customer happy.
They advertised an April Special that I didn’t get. She told me it was because I got the «Spa» version but honestly a 40 min treatment without any wax or big massage doesn’t feel all that special to me.
After arguing my point to the receptionist I ended up only paying $ 5 more than I was originally quoted but didn’t leave there feeling good about it.

Ok, so I went into the salon today for color correction. I had a friend color my hair last week and it definitely didn’t come out as I had envisioned, so I called and booked a consult with Stephanie at Dolce (she was chosen for me). She was beyond amazing! She made me feel really comfortable even though I was completely embarrassed with the do I walked in with and she was very reassuring and descriptive when explaining how she intended to improve my color. I was able to get in for an appointment with her within less than a week which was great but I still wish I could have been seen sooner with consideration to my situation. My appointment ended up taking longer than I expected but it was well worth it. I left feeling like I actually had my hair done instead of just fixed. Needless to say, I will be returning for her service alone.
However, fair warning, the service was not cheap. Dolce is pretty overpriced but I can’t complain cause I can say I received the professional that I paid for. In addition, it really irked me how unfriendly the front desk was. When I arrived to check in the girl was very curt and the girl that assisted when I checked out was the same. She didn’t ask if I’d like to leave a tip so I had to remind her to add it and she didn’t offer to book me a follow up appointment, so I guess I’ll be scheduling that myself online.
I’ve only ever been here for brow waxes before today and received similar service up front. Once you get past them tho, it seems like the actual beauticians are much more friendly.
