Took me some time to write this. My transmission was having problems and I was referred to them by my mechanic who I trust, so I trusted Dannys…
Danny (the owner, not a mechanic) told me to not drive it anymore and we will tow it for free from wherever you are to our shop.
Cool…I did that.
We started talking about it, and I left my car there. Started conversing with him over the phone about prices, first quote was about 1600. I am a 22 year old girl and dont have that kind of money lying around, I explained this to him, and he was very understanding and said he would work with me dont worry we will help you super nice… or so I thought.
So of course I got comfortable and gave them the okay to tear out my transmission, to see what was wrong with it. At that point Dannys attitude toward me and the whole situation changed.
The quote at this point went up from 1600 to about 2400 and he was not as understanding or willing to work with me anymore and just gave me a couple of different choices of different payment plans that I had no choice but to choose from or else they couldnt fix my transmission. I had to pay it off in 3 months or there was nothing he could do.
He had my car I believe for 2 weeks or more. He kept telling me it will be done by thursday, I call thursday… its not done…” it should be done by the morning” .still not done. I think he told me almost daily that my car will be done and it ended up taking weeks not a few days like he kept saying. Seemed to me my car wasnt a priority unless they felt like working on it even though I was paying him over $ 2,000 for it.
I was sooo upset because I still have a job that I need to get to and I told him this and I asked him for an HONEST answer and to quit teling me its going to be done when its not. He didnt care. It was the same answer every time.
Danny got me to feel comfortable with him and once I had no choice he was treated me very differently and just wanted my money.
I guess I shouldnt be surprised.
I preferred not to talk to him about my car at this point due to the fact that he is not a mechanic and not the one working on your vehicle he just owns the place.
Only thing good that came out of my experience is the 2 year warranty and a fixed car which I am grateful for,
I notified my mechanic to not recommend this place anymore.

I am so pleased of how well we were treated during the mess of our transmission issue. They were honest and fixed ONLY what was necessary. There are payment options available and they work hard to get you the help you need for it. What I love most is that they want you to come back for a check up in 10 days. Really, what other place wants to know how you’re doing after taking your money? Also, they are very helpful with questions on anything and they don’t try to choke you down with unnecessary problems. You will be happy to bring your car here! Our Honda Accord is running smooth so far. :)

First off, let me start by telling you that I’m the last person in the world who could tell you thing about my transmission. I recent moved from out East for work. Getting settled in a new place can be kind of pricey, and transmission problems are a little out of my budget. These guys saved my life (and probably job) with financing options. Two days later, I was back on the road and with double the warranty that Aamco offered me at no additional cost. Problem solved. Thanks!

I had a transmission problem and I brought my car in to Danny’s. They were able to fix my transmission and well below the cost of the other transmission shops in the area. They were quick and had good service. It’s been 3 months now and my transmission still runs great. I would recommend Danny’s Transmission to anyone.

had my car towed there from old town scottsdale to get estimate on transmission work. i was surprised when they called with an estimate about 2 hours later, tow time included.
this is a secondary vehicle that i was going to give to my nephew for school and work. well the estimate wound up being more than we’d hoped, which is fine, that happens.
the problem is when I called and told them this, and ask that they bring the car back, I was informed they’d call me In the morning. i asked how much the charge would be, and was told «about $ 85»
Danny called me the next morning, apparently not knowing that I’d asked for the car to be returned, but that he just needed to call me.
he then said ok, but it would be $ 196 for the tow. a far cry from what I was told the day before.
I wasn’t happy but agreed.
I had mentioned that I had battery concerns prior
And during the estimate quote Danny told me he cleaned up the posts etc and battery charged up just fine.
when they returned my car, the drivers window was about ¼ of the way down, the battery was dead, and the keys were in the ignition! !I know, right?
I called and spoke to someone named Mike, explained the situation, he had no idea why it was like that, assured me he was going to call the tow company and find out why, and call me back «shortly».
that was Saturday morning. It’s Tuesday, still no call back from Mike or Danny or tow company. No explanation for the poor service, conditions the car was returned under, no offer of any credit etc.
I paid almost $ 200 for that privilege.
So be warned folks.
The silver lining, for me, I guess if there is one, is that I tend bar at a very busy place, and am also a working valley comic, performing to different audiences 3 nights a week.
What that means in addition to Unilocal,is i get to share my experience with dannys, with literally thousands of people a month.

Danny’s transmission has been taking care of my truck for the last two years and I’m glad to say I’ve finally found a shop I can trust! Always honest with what I need and great on the pricing! I had my transmission rebuilt by them 2 years ago and she is still running like a champ. Highly recommended and will continue to bring my vehicles to them!

Was on my way to visit a client in Chandler when I noticed a «Service Stabilitrak» warning on my car pop up when I restarted the car after filling it up with gas.
I noticed this shop across the street so I drove over and they provided a free diagnostic review of the computer system and found some of my plug wires were loose. They fixed it in about 20 minutes and I was on my way. Saved me a visit the the dealer and was half the cost. Will be telling my clients about there shop in Chandler since its still bit of a drive from Scottsdale. However, if ever have a major issue I can see it being worth the drive to get their opinion first.

We had just purchased a used (new to us) car and needed to have the air checked, oil changed etc. They did all this ok, but we still waited quite a long time, and seemed to pay a large tab, even with «free» offers. While waiting, we were approached with a «Super Saver» plan (card) with lots of marked «free» services and discounted ones, and it seemed like a good deal. So for about $ 80 we purchased it. Ended up only using it that day, as every time we called to make an appointment for an oil change, or anything «free» there was literally almost a month wait! Not impressed. Granted, this was a few years ago, and I stumbled over the hugely unused $ 80+ discount card, and just needed to let them and others know, that these cards put you in a lower class with the shop, so be careful. Other than that, I believe our service actually performed was adequate.
