Chandler Court Apartments

Thankfully I caught the horrible service before attempting to move here. I called on a Friday and was told they had a two bedroom town home that would be available for my timeframe in May. Perfect I thought. Did my homework and read reviews but figured since the leasing agent who answered was so sweet, I’d give then shot. Unfortunately Ashley (the sweet one I just mentioned) was not in.
I walked in (the following Tuesday) while another previous resident was there disputing a charge. The leasing agent, Ashley B. seemed to give short answers. Mind you I’ve been sitting for about 5 minutes give or take with no acknowledgement. Not a, «I’ll be with you soon» or «hello». Nothing. Ok… continue waiting until after she gives previous resident «Sure, I guess» answers. She asks, can I help you? All while sitting at her desk! What?! Don’t you get a commission off of those that you lease? Yet you sot your ass behind a desk?! Never bothered to greet me, shake me hand, offer a welcoming smile. Nothing. She proceeds to tell me prices went up and immediately pulls out a brochure and starts writing down prices. Told her not in my price range (it wasn’t) and walked the hell out. Im glad I trusted my gut feeling. Take note from the previous reviews.

last night my wife who will be 69 in Feb was attacked by a huge pit bull who knocked her down in the parking lot while walking our two small dogs. she was hurt and one dog was rushed to the ER with puncture wounds. like most of the complaints, we agree with. The staff is rude and uncaring roaches everywhere, leaky ceilings, etc. the out side appearance is very clean and green. LIP STICK ON PIG. They refused to get involved with the attack. After we moved in we found out that we all pay for the landlords water bill. They are extremely guilty of over watering to the extent of a huge mosquito problem. there is always standing water in the retention areas, and why not, landlord doesn’t pay the water bill we do. shame on you chandler courts. I picked one star because there is no lower score You suck

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I repeat, DO NOT MOVE HERE. When I moved in: the fan in the living room is broke, the gate in the back is completely rusted and broken. The AC unit is so old, its too hot upstairs in the summer and in the winter the first floor was freezing because The front door isn’t sealed. One of the burners on the stove was completely rusted off. My toilet was clogged for over a week when I first moved in before someone finally came and fixed it. The staff is clueless and not helpful, and I feel sorry for them. Honestly, the whole community and all the appliances just needs to be upgraded and they need better employees. washer and dryer in unit, that’s always nice. Kitchen is big, which I loved. and I liked how the bedrooms upstairs had a connecting bathroom. Lots of potential here, just needs a lot of TLC. Definitely not worth $ 950 a month.

Chandler Court Apartments is one of THE WORST apartments I have ever dealt with or lived at! The office staff is incredibly rude, no matter who they have employed over the past 3yrs! They continue to raise the rent @ 7%+ every time we sign a new lease. It takes forever to get maintenance out to fix anything; and when they do come, they rarely fix the problem completely! All appliances are outdated (from the 80’s) and they won’t replace barely functioning appliances. The «playground» is a dump. There are always teenagers loitering and wrecking the area. Ugh, can’t wait to get out of here!!!

Ashley and Elgin are great! My husband and I moved here from out of state. Elgin and Ashley were so helpful and took such good care of us making our move a great experience. Being new to the area we have had a lot of questions and a few concerns. Every time we have gone into the office both Elgin and Ashley have greeted us with big smiles and and their willingness to help is so appreciated. We couldn’t be happier with our apartment and the staff here. We would recommend Chandler Court to anyone seeking a great place to live!

We moved into this complex 2 yrs ago as we moved in the Internet and people worned us agents moving in. So we moved in and we were fine til there was an issue with our deposit and we had to get it straightened out we late paying one time we were evicted with a hassle behind it do not move here there is not help or humanity !!

My husband, myself & our two kids lived in these apartments for 7 months while we were looking to find a home. The staff is very nice & friendly. The maintenance always responds almost immediately to calls. We lived on the central east side of the huge complex and it was so quiet! I was really expecting an apartment to be noisy and annoying but this was not that at all! The parking spot provided didn’t accommodate us very well so we always had to park on the street which was difficult with 2 kids. The appliances are a little out dated but they worked fine. The air conditioner is pretty loud as well. Overall, this apartment complex worked out great for us and I would recommend to a friend any day!

The only reason I gave 1 star is because I had to pick one!!! Stay away, run don’t walk as far away from these apts as possible.
First, if you live in a townhouse style apt expect to have SRP bills over 200.00 in the summer and still suffer trying to sleep when it remains over 90 degrees. I had to keep 3 fans going plus crank the A/​C which is so outdated it doesn’t even touch the Arizona summer.
Forget trying to keep a clean patio or car because the sucky landscapers blow everything right back onto the patio. No chance of the rocks and sand they blow right onto your car! Every other place I lived, if your car did get dusty they at least blew it of. Considering what they pay the company I can understand why their work is horrible. Maintance crew from what I can tell does nothing but ride around in golf carts. Something needs fixed either do it yourself or wait forever. My microwave went out, it took nearly 2 weeks to replace and when they did they brought. In a countertop model. (Would have been fine, but they could have at least removed the other one.
Complainted about my dryer from day one… Never did get fixed. Took 2 cycles to dry anything. What you save in rent you’ll give to SRP.
Bugs in your unit, yes they will treat them and set you the bill. Blame you for bringing them in. Not bother to tell or treat the nearby units.
Last summer for nearly a month one pool was complety closed, glass on the pool bottoms. One of the only times my nearest pool was opened the head of maintance was there with family and friend all of which had the most foul mouths I’ve ever heard.
When I moved in there was so much over spray on the carpets it crunched under your feet. Even after having them cleaned again the carpet man told me it was not possible to clean the carpets should have been replaced. No matter what they charge carpet cleaning fees when you move out.
Pay a pet fee of 300.00 you would expect that at the end of the lease the carpets cleaning fees would come out of the pet fee, not so. Still don’t know what that 300.00 covered because they kept every penny.
Talk to your neighbors, find out they pay almost 200.00 a month less then you do in rent., why because they can’t get renters so they have to (make deals)
Staff let’s see I think there were at least 4 different managers in the year I lived there and countless agents.
Record keeping sucks!!! Save every receipt/​canceled check etc or they will claim you never paid this or that fee. You can’t have access to the lousy fitness room unless you pay a deposit and get a key that works half of the time. Turn the key in… supposed to get part of your fee back. Not going to happen because a year later I don’t have a canceled check to prove I paid to get the key… Really how the hell do you think I got the key if I didn’t pay for it. Its my fault you go through so many agents who can’t keep records.
Expect the staff to be super friendly before you sign on the dotted line, then flip a switch once they got you. During my final walk through which I had to make sure I was part of Ashley didn’t say 2 words to me throughout the entire thing.
I guess I should have known, you get what you pay for.
Look around there’s no color the place is drab and depressing. I was in a rush and needed a place yesterday… Regretted it from the very first day.
Icky, yucky, disgusting, poorly ran, rude staff. Better off in a trailer park.
Don’t try and save a few bucks. Drive a mile either way down the street spend a bit more but you’ll be happy you did.

We lived in the apartment for 6 months. When we moved in we made numerous accounts on the walk through of many issues (stains on the carpet, linoleum coming up all over, door broken, etc). The door was never fixed, and we even fixed the kitchen counters that were coming up. After we moved out they charged us for all the stains on the carpet even though it was noted most were there prior. I had to call 5 times (they kept saying they would call me back and never did). I had to keep calling them to finally talk to a manager and she still blamed me for not noting «red stains» on the walk thru paper instead of just noting «stains all over». I do not recommend living here at all!

I reviewed Chandler Court a few years ago, after I’d lived there with my family for about six months. I’m updating my review now; we ended up spending three years there, and once we’d paid off a mountain of credit card debt, we moved into a house in Tempe.
It’s pretty simple, really: Do not live here.
I’ll start by saying that the walls at Chandler Court are paper-​thin. You can hear everything that goes on in neighboring apartments and outside. We had the misfortune of leasing an apartment adjacent to the playground. During the summer, hordes of unsupervised young children (we took to calling them «the feral ones») would run around the playground shrieking — not yelling; shrieking — until 1 a.m. or later. The complex’s «courtesy patrol» was useless; it was run by a company that monitored neighborhoods all over the Valley. Once, we called the 24-​hour patrol number and were told the patrolman was in Avondale, so it’d be a while until he got over to our side of town. Many times, we ended up just calling the police so we could get a few hours of sleep.
«But the price is right,» you’re probably saying to yourself. «I can deal with a little noise if I’m saving money on rent.» Well, OK, but can you also deal with an incredibly rude, unhelpful and sometimes downright hostile office staff?
Equity Residential used to own the property. They were a nice group of people, and they got things done. FAST. Like «within 30 minutes» fast. After the complex was sold to AMC, we were lucky to have service request filled within two weeks. Sometimes, they never got filled at all. When my wife called the office to complain, she was verbally abused by a member of the staff. With few exceptions, dealing with them was never pleasant.
The real screw-​job came after we moved out. When we moved in, the carpet in our unit was already in poor condition. It should have been replaced before we moved in, but we made the best of things and tried to cover the worst parts of it with floor rugs and furniture. After we moved out, we received a $ 55 bill for carpet cleaning. I protested that charge, and I reminded management that we had been good tenants and paid rent on time every month for 36 consecutive months.
Management’s response was that if I didn’t pay the charge, I could deal with a collections agency and pay an additional charge on top of that $ 55. I paid up (along with paying a water bill I had previously been told I wouldn’t have to pay) because I just wanted to be done with them.
Sadly, I know writing this review won’t change anything at Chandler Court. There’s never a shortage of renters in Arizona, no matter how thin the walls or how unhelpful the staff. But I hope at least a few smart people read this review and decide to live elsewhere. The only reason we stayed there as long as we did is that we were planning to buy a house and didn’t want to do another short-​term move, especially with a young child.
I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

*Do not get trapped by their specials. They will charge you insane amount when you move out even if you keep the carpet/​apt clean (my lease was for just 7 months and still was charged)
*Worst was that i had to leave out of USA for more than a month and i requested them to waive off utilities for that month, but the manager bluntly told that as per the lease i signed there was no such option for me!
*On one fine day, i had a 4 foot long scratch on my car trunk, not sure who did it, but one of the residents’ kids i would assume. So, no safety for your vehicles.
*My neighbor used to listen to loud music, but the staff said that it’s not loud enough to take an action! that means you basically can not stay peacefully until it’s peaceful to the staff!

The only reason im giving this place a one star is because there isn’t an option to leave zero. This place is an absolute crap hole. I lived here for a year and it was by far the worst place I’ve ever lived. The office people are rude (especially abel, he had a huge ass attitude and acts like a woman, he was always unhelpful at best. Secondly was the old witch that sits in the front, she had an ugly attitude as well. The only one worth anything there was the manager. If you move here your situation must be dire because you are settling for less. This place should be boarded up and torn down its outdated, ghetto, and lacks any sort of leadership in the office. At one point we had bees swarming in a storm drain above our apartments and there solution was to spray it with a garden hose! Later that day we had a few make it through our bathroom a/​c vents! That basically demonstrated how little they care about the saftey of us and surrounding units. You are absolutely nuts if you pick an apartment overlooking the playground because you will hear screaming kids all day all night 7 days a week. My advice, DON’T MOVE HERE!

My husband and I are young professionals who were looking for an inexpensive 1-​bedroom to live in while we saved up for a house. Chandler Court is in the perfect location! Neighbors are friendly, although we have heard screaming kids in the playground area at all hours of the day/night…and we don’t even live anywhere near it. Appliances and décor are outdated but workable, especially considering the dirt cheap rent. We like that all 1-​bedroom apts. are on one story, meaning no noisy neighbors above you. Pet rent is cheap and office/​maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend this place. Like the reviewer before me, definitely make sure that your apt will not overlook the playground area… unless your children are the screaming kind. :)
