This office is one big joke. I had very bad gum recession on my bottom tooth and had been told for many years from other dentists even, that this was something I had to fix or I could lose the tooth. I finally went to Dr. Greg’s office for help. Now, Dr. Gregg isn’t really why i am giving this office such a horrible review. But, it’s his allowing his staff to be so inadequate. I paid out of pocket over $ 2,000 to get this procedure done. They insured me that I would be reimbursed by my insurance company. Months go by, a year goes by, no reimbursement. I follow up constantly. They FINALLY admit they fired the girl working the front desk and she didn’t fill out the request for reimbursement properly, that they would resubmit it and get back to me. Long story short, here I am years later, never being reimbursed. I even called a couple months ago and the girl who answered said she would definitely look into it, resubmit it and call me back. AND NOTHING. It’s just shitty practice. I totally got the run-​around. False promises and pathetic staff. Stay away from this office.

I came to find Dr. Gregg’s office after being told by my regular dentist that I had advanced gum disease and significant bone loss due to the gum disease. She said I was in danger of losing teeth as well. She recommended that I get something called a Flap surgery. She explained what that was and I burst into hysterical tears, already having my mind made up that I would never do such a thing. I didn’t care in that moment that my teeth could fall out. It’s archaic and what I’ve come to call a caveman procedure. I drove home from my old dentist office in tears thinking to myself that their had to be another option. It’s 2015! Not 1950, I wasn’t about to let anybody cut off my gum tissue and sew it back together… not to mention the fact that a lot of people who get flap also wake up to find out that they have had teeth pulled because they were deemed un-​savable by their periodontist.
So I got home and started doing some research as at 36 years old I wasn’t ready to lose teeth but I wasn’t going to do the Flap either. I came across something called LANAP. Sounded minimally invasive and pretty successful… It also sounded WAY too good to be true. So I furthered my research and decided to go for a consultation at an office near where I work in Sherman Oaks. They did the consultation and I left. I wasn’t really satisfied with the office or their explanations of anything. So again, I furthered my research and came across Dr. Gregg and how he was the one that developed the procedure. I then watched and read everything I could find about this procedure. I decided to give their office a call to see if I could get some more detailed information about their office and Dr. Gregg. I got on the phone with Kari (who is the best by the way!) and she stayed on the phone with me for well over an hour explaining to me everything about the LANAP procedure and the benefits and what to expect. All the while NOT ONCE pressuring me to come to THEIR office just completely willing to offer me some time out of her busy day to help educate a person who wasn’t even a patient at their office about this procedure. After my conversation with Kari, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Gregg. I was ready to meet him and make this happen. The consultation was short, but mostly because I had done so much research I didn’t really need to ask him much at that point. I had my initial pre-​procedure exam done within about a week of my conversation with Kari. They x-​rayed me and measured my gums where I had a mouth that had no better number than a 3 mm and the worst one was a 12 mm!!! A 12!!! If you have gum disease then you know that’s an unacceptable number and serious danger of losing that tooth! If I had had done the flap procedure they would have pulled that tooth no doubt and judging by the numbers I had (mostly 6−10mm) i’d have lost more than just that one tooth. So I am a pretty serious case, I got my estimate and while, yes, I have to say the procedure isn’t cheap but what can you expect and what is your smile worth to you? I wanted to keep my own teeth… I opted to open a Springstone account where they offer you 0% and you can make payments.
I had the procedure done, in two sessions (half of your mouth at a time) and yes it’s uncomfortable but by no means does it feel like «surgery» There are no stitches, there is no cutting. They numb you with a topical, and then novocaine so by the time Dr. Gregg gets in there you don’t really feel much.
The recovery time is also not really bad (other than the soft food diet haha), I was back to work the next day with some swelling but I was able to fully function at work. Within a week I could tell that my mouth was getting better and I realized just how infected and puffy my gums were before the procedure. When I was allowed to brush and floss again I had no bleeding. There was no more puffy gums (which I hadn’t even noticed until I had the procedure as it had progressed over several years)
I follow my aftercare exactly as recommended because who wants to spend all that money only to mess up the work by not flossing or going to your followup visits & having your regular cleanings. Aftercare is key. Follow it! It works, if you don’t you only have yourself to blame if you don’t get the results you want.
I had this procedure done in August of 2014 and have been waiting to post my review because I wanted to wait until we did the one year measurements of my gums. Well the results are in folks, I officially have NO danger of losing any of my teeth, all of my numbers have improved from 6mm-​12mm which I had pre-​procedure to 2mm-​6mm. Now keep in mind that those 6mm’s that I have now were once 9’s and 10’s. The 12 mm I had is now only a 5 mm.
If you have been told that you have gum disease that requires surgery, I’d seriously suggest that you do some research on LANAP and Dr. Gregg and his work. I couldn’t be more grateful for him, and his whole staff. Thank you guys for saving my teeth! Worth every penny!!!

If I can give less than one star I would, few years ago he did my laser gum surgery at his office and charged me over $ 5500 for it, for the follow up he never saw me always I had to be seen by another trainee.
I called his office last week because I had a very bad gum infection I couldn’t open my mouth, I explained my situation and I was given a 9:00 am appointment, I asked them if I can come at 9:30 because I live far, they insisted on the 9:00 because they want to see me first, I appreciated that.
I left my house very early to make it on time, I arrived at his office at 10 minutes before 9:00, I waited until 9:15 when the receptionist gave me paperwork to fill and she said I have to wait they will be in meeting, I tried to explain that I was in pain and I was asked to come early to be seen she ignored me and disappeared in the back for her meeting.
She came out at 9:45 asking me to take x-​rays I explained that I couldn’t open my mouth for the x-​rays and I offered to come back for it when my infection is gone I just needed antibiotics for the infection, I asked her if I can talk to Dr Gregg he was familiar with my case.
She came back to tell me that Dr Gregg said he can’t see me if I don’t take the x-​Ray. He did not have the curtsy to talk to me.
I left and saw another Dintist who was surprised why Dr Gregg refused to see me, he prescribed the antibiotics and pain killer and I felt better in few days, I was ready to take the x-​rays then.
I heard a lot of bad reviews for Dr Gregg but I wanted to give him a chance, but I was wrong he is the worst Dintist I ever seen he is in for the money. He doesn’t care about his patients he only care about him self and how much money he can get out of each one.
I will never go back or recommend him to anyone.

One of the best dentists I’ve as ever been to. A little, «pricey» but worth every penny… Dr. Gregg is very thorough with his work as well as his dental hygienist, «Marika.»
I had a «retouch» laser surgery on half of my mouth, followed with one complimentary teeth cleaning with 4 more cleanings scheduled throughout the year (for a one-​year– long, treatment following my laser gum surgery).
The laser surgery was literally, «painless» and within 24 hours, I felt ready to chew on anything! – Literally, there was no «down-​time» involved. I’m aware that traditional gum surgery can be extremely uncomfortable (as well as painful and that’s one reason I chose Dr. Gregg!!).
I feel really blessed to know Dr. Gregg. He invented the LANAP lasers. Today this new technique is replacing the once dreaded conventional «cutting with scalpels» gum surgeries which many dentists still use today.
I’ve had my periodontal gum disease, treated with Dr. Gregg’s lasers with much success and I’m happy to write about it and to recommend Dr. Gregg to others suffering from common gum diseases like gingivitis or periodontal problems. He’s a specialist in these areas!
His staff is very friendly and wait time at his office is minimal… less than 5 minutes, every time I’m there.
Thanks, Dr. Gregg and keep up the good work! I hope you get to train many, many more dentists in the «wonderful use of your lasers.» One of the best inventions added to the dentistry field!

Dr Gregg is the best dentist to ever work on my teeth. My last dentist had missed two cavities until I ended up needing a root canal and an extraction. Dr Gregg worked carefully for months until he got rid of the abscess and every trace of infection. Then he put in handmade crown that is a work of art. He may not be the fastest or cheapest, but I’ll never have any problem with that tooth in the future. His staff members are courteous and arranged an affordable payment plan. A friend recommended Dr Gregg as the best, and she was right. He really is the most skilled and gentle dentist you can find.

I had the best experience with this dentist having laser gum surgery. Dr. Gregg’s team was able to save a tooth which would have had to be pulled and an implant inserted. And, my other teeth and gums were also treated so I wouldn’t have an issue with them in the future. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gregg for any laser surgery. And, his whole team were equally accommodating and made me feel very comfortable.

Had an awesome experience today at the dentist. I must say, I have never had my teeth that thoroughly cleaned before… Marika, the hygienist, is very detailed and highly skilled at what she does. What a sweet bunch of girls there too. After today, I’m looking forward to my first exam with Dr. Gregg. Thanks guys!!! I will definitely spread the word!!!

Exceptional service. Been a patient of Dr. Gregg since 2002 and he is very ethical and meticulous with his work. Perfectionist! Would highly recommend their periodontal laser treatment work. Their staff Marika is a very professional hygienist and I wouldn’t change her for anyone one. What is key to any business is their front line staff and Carla Valle will always greet you with her warm smile and goes that extra mile to ensure all your dental needs have been addressed. Their office management Veronica Santa is truly a friend and methodical in her work ethic and always provides sound advise and recommendations. Kari Barello is also a very skilled professional. I live in the east end of the San Gabriel Valley and travel to see Dr. Gregg. It’s all worth it and they make you feel like family.

I just had a cleaning at Dr. Gregg’s practice, and as usual, it was a great and painless experience (I know how much people are afraid to go to the dentist!). I’ve been going here for a few years now and it’s always been a pleasant experience.
Let’s start with the waiting room as they always have a huge selection of magazines that are current. I hate when I go somewhere and they have an issue of Sports Illustrated from a year ago. They also have fresh Starbucks to sip as you wait. Granted these things don’t have anything to do with the actual dental experience, but these small touches improve the patient’s overall experience and lets one know that Dr. Gregg and his staff are all about customer service along with great dental care.
I usually go to see Marika, who is excellent. She has a bright smile and puts me at ease even though she’s going to be poking and prodding the inside of my mouth for the next hour. It’s particularly great because she has fantastic sports knowledge. In between opening my mouth, we talked about the NFL Championship games this past Sunday and she knew just as much as anybody. It’s kind of like sitting in a barbershop and just talking about things, but I was actually sitting inside a dentist’s chair.
On to the actual cleaning and other experiences: In one word it is COMPREHENSIVE. A year ago, I kept having constant jaw pain and headaches. Dr. Gregg and company were so thorough that they found out that I had been grinding my teeth while I was sleeping. Dr. Gregg was great in providing me with a mouth guard to prevent me from ruining my teeth at night.
Another thing to consider when you come here is the use of their dental laser. The first time I came I had no idea what it was except that I’ve never had a dentist use one on me. At the end of each cleaning, they use a laser to touch up rough spots in your gums. I can’t really explain it, but I know that when I leave I have minimal bleeding and soreness in my mouth and gums.
If you want a solid dental experience with state of the art technology then this is the place to go.

I can’t recommend Dr. Gregg highly enough. I had to go in for an emergency root canal treatment two weeks ago, and it was (amazingly!) almost entirely painless: I needed only minor medication for a day or after the surgery and that was that. Everyone in the office is super nice to boot, especially with squeezing me in for an appointment the day after new years (I cracked my tooth, hence the need for the root canal). I’ve heard such scary things about root canals, but this was pretty much a breeze. Dr. Gregg and his staff took the time to explain to me what was going on throughout the multi-​week treatment necessary to perform the root canal and order the new crown, leaving me a very informed patient (which I have never felt at other dental offices).

I used to see his associate Dr Chad. I had Laser surgery with Dr Gregg and that’s what he specializes in. He put off giving me a check up for over a year. Even when I went in for laser surgery, he didn’t give me a comprehensive check up but billed my insurance co as if he did. He’s really just interested in doing laser treatments and nothing more. His office staff is unprofessional and the only reason I kept going back was because Marika his hygienist is awesome. I would recommend him if you think you need gum surgery. Dr Gregg will laser them instead. Go to Dr Gregg for any other type of dental work and he’ll most likely recommend laser for everything. In my opinion he should just specialize in laser surgery. Having a sign on your business stating general dentistry and steering patients towards laser treatments is misleading.

Over the years I have recommended Dr. Gregg to so many friends that I have lost count!
I started with him after another dentist had drilled too deep on two molars that resulted in root canals and crowns. Less than a year later, one tooth had to be extracted because of pain. A few months later, the other one started hurting. I couldn’t believe I spent THOUSANDS of dollars to lose both teeth in 18 months, so I went to Dr. Gregg for a second opinion. He fixed my bite and the pain went away! Too bad I didn’t wise up earlier to avoid the first extraction!
My husband had painless laser treatment for plaque under his gums that other dentists would have treated by cutting away the gums. Two of our friends had this extremely invasive & painful procedure at a «regular» dentist, and said it was the worst thing that could’ve happened.
The only other «intern”(?) that I experienced was Dr. Chad. Yes, he was new when I first started seeing him but he was very sweet. During my first visit with him, my old fears kicked in. I had never been afraid of the dentist before the horrible experience that had led me to Dr. Gregg, whom I trust explicitly. I explained my renewed anxiety to Dr. Chad who took great care to explain what he was doing and to stop frequently to ask how I was doing. He even messaged my jaw after the long procedure! I was extremely happy with him during the time that he was with Dr. Gregg’s office.
In fact, I gave my appointment to my elderly mother because of an emergency, certain he could help her. Her dentist had diagnosed multiple problems after she’d complained of a severe toothache. She was told she needed FOUR root canals and crowns at a cost of $ 6000! When Dr. Chad adjusted her bite, she was pain free before she got out of the chair! She was so grateful that she was in tears!
I don’t mind if Dr. Gregg brings in newer dentists because he’s trained them to understand the importance of a correct bite as well as the laser techniques. I hope I never have to change dentists until Dr. Gregg retires. Then I’ll ask for a list of the dentists that he has personally trained!
Last but not least, I love his hygienist, Marika! And the staff, too.

I have been a dentist for over 25 years Dr. Gregg is a mentor of mine. If I ever need dental work I would be honored if he would be my dentist.

I had a totally different experience than Lynette.
That was 2 years ago and since then things have changed in Dr Gregg s office.
He s now the only dentist and he s the only one to take care of you.
I have nothing but great things to say about him. As a matter of fact I think he s by far the best dentist i’ve ever gone to. I went to see him after 2 of my best friends highly recommended him and I m so happy I trusted their opinion.
I went to see him because I had a huge problem with my red gums and with one of my tooth.
The few dentists i went to see prior to Dr Gregg wanted to put me to sleep, extract the tooth, do some bone grafting and then an implant which would have been extremely expensive.
As far as the gums they wanted to do a deep cleaning which i ve never had one done before.
He basically told me that I didn t need a deep cleaning but only a regular cleaning and a bite adjustment which ended up being the best thing I ve ever done in my life.
My gums are not red anymore and my headaches are gone too. This 3 sessions bite adjustment is really affecting my health very positively. I m so excited to have a more restful jaws and sleep better because of it.
As far as the tooth well he basically saved it. What others thoughts was decay was only discoloration as he predicted earlier. The tooth didn t break or anything and i just ended up with a new crown.
However He had to do a gum grafting but it was so painless I didn t even need to take any pain medication.
The office is not too exciting and is very old fashion but I know that whoever goes to see him will be very happy. Don t get fooled by the look of it. The quality of the treatments you get is outstanding.
I also need to mention the fantastic helpful fun staff who assist Dr Gregg. Those Girls are so nice you can t help but relax. It s definitely a joy to go there.
He s also the famous dentist that invented the laser for gums. A few of my friends have done that and since then their gums have changed dramatically. They don t have to do deep cleanings anymore.
So yes I do highly recommend Dr Gregg. It s always so hard to find an honest excellent dentist. This is one of them.

My experience is along the lines of Lynette’s.
I have been going there for a number of years but cannot understand why Dr. Gregg has shifted his patients to inexperienced recent graduates. I know they need to gain some experience but it’s irresponsible to leave your patients under the care of apprentices.
The rates are the same as before but the level of experience does not merit the price.
We have already had a tooth loss in our family during this transition and I will definitely be looking for an alternative… maybe Lynette’s recommentation.

Dr. Gregg is a great dentist. Unfortunately, he shifts his patents off to his «associates», who are frequently fresh out school and in training for his laser technology.
The first associate I had was great at discussing his surfing activities, but not good at replacing my TMJ night appliance. The replacement appliance was defective and I ended up with jowls like a bulldog.
The second associate was sweet but when I took my stepmother to her, she couldn’t handle the complications that my step-​mom had. The office kept telling me that they would call her when they got the special film they needed for her x-​rays, but they never called.
The third associate, Dr. Chad, is gorgeous, kind of like a modern day Ben Casey. But he was fresh out of dental training. He asked his assistants for advice a number of times. He recommended that I have a re-​do of a past root canal at a local specialist. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. When the procedure was finished, the endodontist told me to go back to my regular dentist to have the tooth restored. Dr. Chad didn’t want to fill tooth because there was still a small shadow at the root. Two weeks later, I broke the tooth. Dr. Chad said he couldn’t replace the crown and said he had to pull the tooth.
It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever walked out of a dentist’s office.
I contacted my daughter’s dentist in Fountain Valley. Dr. O’Connor replaced the crown. It’s been 2+ years and everything’s great. And he hasn’t tried to sell me the moon and stars every time I’ve gone to see him. His dental hygienist is wonderful.
If you go to Dr. Gregg, make sure that he doesn’t offload you to one of his trainees. The price is the same, but the level of service and expertise is vastly different.
