Avery Orthodontics is a full service orthodontic specialty practice. Dr. Blair Barnett and his staff provide a comfortable, relaxing experience and communicate thoroughly throughout all procedures to keep your peace of mind and set your expectations correctly. Dr. Barnett was trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, earning his specialty certificate in 2007. He then returned to his hometown of Austin to provide the highest levels of orthodontic care for the Cedar Park, Round Rock, Northwest Austin, Leander and Georgetown areas.

Patients of all ages are welcome and referral from a general dentist is not necessary to have a complimentary consultation. Treatment options range from Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, clear braces and traditional braces. The best time for children to have their first orthodontic consultation is between the ages of 6 to 8 so that any needed early orthodontic intervention can be initiated or ruled out if not needed.

Dr. Barnett (a greaduate of Westwood High School) was thrilled to return to his hometown of Austin to provide the absolute best orthodontic care possible for patients of all ages.

Dr. Blair Barnett is proud to have returned home to meet the orthodontic needs of the Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander and Georgetown areas. He grew up right here in Northwest Austin, having attended Westwood High School followed by UT-​Austin. He finds orthodontics to be an extremely rewarding profession because of the way orthodontic treatment can directly make such a positive change in people’s lives. Dr. Barnett strives to be the absolute best orthodontist through continuing to stay up to date on the latest advances in the field. He is also committed to the future of the profession by teaching part time as a Clinical Professor of Orthodontics in San Antonio every other Friday. His continual goal will be to always provide the absolute best service and results for his patients of all ages within a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

Avery Orthodontics is absolutely THE best. My daughter got her braces off last week and not only do her her teeth look amazing, but the entire experience has been worth every penny. The entire staff has always been available, helpful, and accommodating, and Dr. Barnett is extremely knowledgeable and thorough.
We started as patients four years ago during phase one of a two-​phase process, and even through their growth and expansion they’ve always been personable and treat you like family… I wish I could give more than 5 stars for customer service!
I love that expectations were set correctly up front with regards to the length of time in braces, and every single appointment was on time. You could not ask for more when it comes to quality, reliability, and overall care and concern for their patients.
One child down, two to go… and Avery Orthodontics is where we’ll be going!

Dr. Barnett and his staff are very pleasant and personable, when available. I am commenting here to let you know of my experience with scheduling appointments and the timeliness, sometimes, of appointments.
If you have a student with a busy and/​or heavy academic schedule — or you, yourself have a schedule that is not always predictable 6 to 8 weeks (or more) in advance — you’re probably going to have scheduling problems.
I’ve had a couple of times now when I’ve tried 4 to 5 weeks in advance to schedule a later-​afternoon appointment, with a choice of 3 to 4 possible days around 3:00 PM in the afternoon, and they’ve already been booked out.
When I began to realize we were having a difficult time getting an appointment scheduled within the time frame recommended by Dr. Barnettt (unfortunately after we’d paid the large deposit up front and my son already had his braces on) — I asked about this. The woman that schedules their appointments (who, by the way, has always been patient and polite — this is not a general rant against Avery Orthodontics) that if you want a morning or later-​afternoon appointment — you need to be able to schedule 6 — 8 weeks in advance — otherwise, they’re booked.
Also, a couple of times we’ve had to wait for about fifteen minutes past our scheduled appointment time because Dr. Barnett was busy with a new patient consult. If existing patients are having to wait past time for their scheduled appointment because you’re considering taking on another patient — well, I wonder if Dr. Barnett’s practice is a bit overextended.
We are only about seven months into orthodontic treatment, so can’t really speak much to the effectiveness and efficiency of treatment, and, again, I don’t have any huge complaints about Dr. Barnett, personally, or his staff.
Just putting it out there that if your schedule (or your child’s schedule) is not particularly open and/​or predictable at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance, you’re probably going to have trouble scheduling an appointment within the optimal time frame for treatment.

I recommend Avery Orthodontics to everyone. I wore my braces for 8 months and now have clear retainers. Dr. Barnett was very thorough in explaining each step in my treatment and eased my nervousness. The staff has amazing service and we’re all so sweet. I also watched the staff work with their teen patients and they were just as kind and patient with all of them. My teeth look so beautiful and I am so glad I chose Aver Orthodontics.

Dr. Barnett and his staff are the kindest and gentlest group of people! I started out with a different orthodontist — we shall call him «He who cannot be named.» That Ortho was curt, unkind and favored extreme practices that made my daughter uncomfortable. In fact, she cried whenever we had to go for an office visit. After Phase 1 with that man, I knew I couldn’t go back.
I found Dr. Barnett through a friend in Round Rock ISD. The atmosphere was completely different! They understood my daughter’s anxiety and did whatever they could to alleviate it. No one ever got angry with her or made her feel fearful. There were no more tears — she actually liked going to appointments!
I take my son there now. I’m glad that he never had a bad experience. I wish I could go back in time and change my daughter’s first orthodontic experience… Go to Avery Orthodontics — it is simply the best!

Both kids needed braces to fix some extremely crooked teeth. Dr. Barnett and staff were GREAT from start to finish! Dr. Barnett explained in great detail the process, timeline and what to expect upon completion. Everything that we were told came true and everyone (Kids and parents) are more than satisfied with the results!

The braces are off and my daughters smile is prettier than ever! If I can gives Avery Orthodontics more stars I would!
My daughter (age 13) had her braces on for 1 ½ years, originally Dr. Barnett gives a time estimate of 1 ½ — 2 years so everything came off when expected. I don’t think I can remember the last time I was so pleased with medical office/​business. One thing to note is if your appointment is scheduled at {insert time here} then they WILL see you at {insert time here}. No waiting around as most medical offices will force you do. Only downfall is if you’re running more than 15 mins behind as I came close to on 1 or 2 occasions then they will reschedule you. Dr. Barnett and his staff run a great practice!
Front office staff are always courteous, helpful and generally lovely. I was never ignored when I went up to the desk, there were never any scheduling or billing issues, and they were very efficient at their jobs. They also always seemed to remember every patient’s name from the second they walk through the door. That alone is impressive and makes you feel like you’re part of the team/​family and not just a patient.
DAUGHTER REVIEW (since I didn’t go to the back much) the assistants in the back were friendly, competent, and always careful. They were detailed on what I needed to do at home to properly maintain my braces.
Throughout the 1 ½ we had 0 issues with the braces thanks to the supplies and guidance provided from day 1!
Can’t recommend this place enough.

I took my son (age 7) in for a consultation after his regular dentist had suggested it. I was very pleased with how friendly everyone was and how easily everything is set up. I really felt like they went the extra mile to provide good service and I am excited to start a long relationship with this practice as my child gets his chompers fixed. I also LOVE that they are 4 minutes from our house (win!)

5 Stars. Well I have not a single negative thing to say about Avery Orthodontics. This review is based on over a year of visits, so please keep that in mind as well. On my first visit I took advantage of the Complimentary Exam they offer. This was a thorough exam with xrays and the like. From this, I was able to learn if I was a good candidate for invisalign. Luckily they accepted me as a patient. Of course I had to ask questions like «if this procedure doesn’t work, what are my other options?» etc. I was given straight forward REAL answers. So knowing all of this, I felt comfortable enough to make the investment (of course payment options are available). So I visited Avery for well over a year, meeting with Dr. Barnett, where he would make his routine inspection and adjustments on my teeth. Each time, we exchanged some friendly talk, followed by some Q&A regarding the ongoing procedure. I did encounter some issues (on my end like destroying a tray), so I emailed him with the problem, and Dr Barnett responded in less than a day with advice on what to do. So with the initial accurate planning on the straightening of my teeth, to the on the fly adjustments that needed to be made, all the way to the scheduling of my routine visits, I never had one negative thing to say. I’m glad to be done with my procedure, but I will also miss the morning routines every couple of weeks :) I’m finally done. I enjoy the freedom of having straight good smile.

Our pediatric dentist suggested Dr Barnett at Avery Orthodontics. We love him and his staff. Both of my girls had to have braces. When we went in for our initial consultation we were given different options for payment, the cost and approximate time the braces would be on. Dr Barnett even suggested we get a second opinion before deciding. Wow, how may urge you to get a second opinion before you sign. My oldest just had her braces removed and her teeth are BEAUTIFUL! Dr Barnett told us they would be on for about 14 months and they were on right at about 14 months. I would recommend Dr Barnett and his staff to everyone.

Highest recommendations to Dr. Barnett and the staff at Avery Orthodontics in Cedar Park! I’ve been visiting them for quite a few years now and they have been fabulous with both my kids. Everybody in the office is super nice. Very convenient with early morning (before school) appointments as well as the usual daytime hours. Easy to get in for those emergency fixes that crop up on occasion too. Dr. Barnett is very skilled and very picky when it comes to teeth – your kids will get a great smile!
