Cimarron Golf Resort

We play this course every time we are in town and enjoy it always. Everyone is friendly and the course is enjoyable.

I came to a conference and stayed at the Westin. Francine told me about Cimarron and I am glad she did Westin members get 10 dollars off an already affordable course. I played the Boulder course Three times. The course is challenging and fun and in great shape. I will play it again for sure. I paid $ 39, $ 29′ and $ 19 at 3:30pm. You won’t be disappointed. Staff was friendly. Oh, and GPS is included in the cart with your green fees. Enjoy!

This review is for summer play when the temps are 100° plus. I’ve played this course many times and it’s always enjoyable and the scenery is always spectacular. Of course the summer rates are super good. The tees, fairways and traps were all in good shape. The greens had just been punched and sanded so they were very slow, but that’s to be expected. You are on your own with no cart-​girl or bag attendants (at least mid-​day), and I recommend bringing a big cup for ice and water (water jugs on every third hole). A cooling towel also helps. Lots of fun.

Not too shabby! Ok, the clubhouse is a bit dated. Ok, a lot dated. But once we teed off, it was fine. It was way busy, and we teed off a little late. But they did a decent job getting us started. Nice fairways, well manicured, greens were rolling fast and smooth. Views of the desert and mountains are superb. So why 3 stars? I’d give it 3.5 if I could. It was a little pricey for what it was. I’d go back, especially in February. Some times of year it’s brown here. If you don’t care about a swank entrance or clubhouse, this is not bad.

For all the rich expensive golf courses in the Coachella Valley this place is a gem. Nicely priced fees, and a well manicured course. Open links style course with literally no trees. Not the easiest but certainly not the hardest course. We were there in late March played the Boulder Course during a rare heat wave and the greens and fairways were lush and almost perfect. Porta potties spaced out there which was surprising. Saw the cart girl on #4 and then never saw her again, we got very thirsty on the back 9. Otherwise very good choice in the Palm Springs area that won’t break the bank.

The Boulder is actually more challenging than it appears at first glance, particularly when the wind is blowing as it often does. Some of the fairways are narrow, and the washes are quite daunting. Looking up at the mountains is inspiring. If you want a true test of life, go in midsummer. You’ll have the course to yourself, you’ll stay loose in the 112 heat, and you may be able to break my record of drinking 86 ounces of water over the course of 18 holes with only a single pee break.
The Pebble side is a good place to introduce a new golfer to the game. There’s nothing like watching an 11 year old smack her first drive with a driver 125 yards and then turn to you with glee in her eyes. There’s a new golfer made right in that moment, and it’s cool as hell. So to speak.

Great golf course, I always golf here when I come to Palm Springs, professional, but understanding as well. Fellow golfers are always courteous and nice. We were there for a bachelorette party and they let us get a little wild. We ended up leaving our GoPro with our cart when we turned it in and when we came back for it they returned it to us, so thankful! Customer for life!

Although it was 100 degress and I felt like I was going to pass out, I’m giving the course five stars… I got my first hole-​in-​one today. Just don’t ask what happened to the rest of the round :))

This review is for the Boulder course.
Good spot for a round of relaxing golf. Fairways were pretty flat and very readable greens. Not to mention excellent deals during the summer which makes the no shade course bearable.
Compared to other prime courses in the greater Palm Springs area, this course is okay.

Friendly staff, fun course, pretty forgiving for a par 72 course. They have great summer deals and you can mix it up by playing the boulder one day and the pebble the next.
This is a great place for inexpensive golf, where the pace of play tends to be quicker than many other courses in the area.

It’s a decent layout. Just played 6/​6, greens were just punched. I would recommend if there is a good deal, and if the course is in good shape. So many options in the area.

Coming from a novice golfer, with about 20 something rounds under his belt, I liked it a lot. I played the pebble course which is a par 3 with one par 4 on the 3^rd hole. Staff was friendly. Kudos to Daniel for his pleasant demeanor in issuing and receiving the carts along with advice on other golfing options. The course is well kept and the afternoon of golf was great. The only bummer is that the carts have to be in by 6pm especially with daylight until almost 8pm. Now… if I could only figure this «par» thing out. If you are staying at the Raintree Cimarron, you get a special rate.

Played today on the Boulder Course. It was in tremendous shape. No bad lies and primo greens. This is a fun course to play! I would recommend it to anyone, from low handicapper to high. I look forward to playing there soon. No shade, so keep hydrated!

We played the Boulder course (par 72) late afternoon and had a blast. The greens were in *great* shape — best we played throughout our stay in Palm Springs. Fairways and tee boxes were prime too.
Layout is consistently interesting — perhaps too consistent. The holes blend together in retrospect. But playing each one was fun enough at the time. Loved the local rule offering free relief out of sandy «wash» areas bordering several fairways. Or did I make that up?
Only complaint would be, they seem to be in a big hurry to close up shop. We teed off at 3 and were warned the sprinklers would come on at 6:30. Failed to mention: an employee in a pickup truck would gather flags from holes ahead of us starting at 5 and change. We tried coming back as a family the next day to play the executive course but the clubhouse had closed for the day, by 5:10 p.m.
Bottom line: interesting course, extraordinary conditions (on this day). Twilight price felt like a steal.

Two links style courses in Cathedral City. An executive course — the Pebble and a standard course — the Boulder. We played the Pebble on a Sunday morning. We walked right up and got a better deal than what was showing on Golfnow and the course Website.
They have two gentlemen at the bag drop that set your cart up. Fresh ice and cups for the round in each cart. The Pebble is a Par 55 course. If you play from the Black, it can be challenging. The fairways and the greens were in fantastic shape. And the pace of play was fast. We finished in under 3 hours and only had to wait on the 18^th hole.
They also have a café, but we didn’t check it out. But the food sure smelled good. The only downside to the course was some run-​ins with a couple of pedestrians and the fact they only had porta-​potties away from the clubhouse.
I will probably try the par 72 course next time. Beautiful facility and really friendly staff.
Tip — if you are coming from Ramon Rd, watch out for the stop light camera at the corner of Landau and Ramon.

I was looking for an interesting course layout for a decent rate and Cimarron filled the bill. It is a nice link style course that was in good condition when I played it. The layout wasn’t spectacular, but it was nice enough for a course under $ 70 in November. I probably would have given it 4 stars except for the pace of play. I usually play very early in the morning because I hate slow play, but the day I played there was a Sunday and I couldn’t get to the course before 11 am. My round ended up taking over 4 ½ hours and as far as I could see, the marshal wasn’t doing anything to speed up play.

and paid $ 40 for 2 players. It was a 12:40 tee time though so it was a bit warm. The staff in the proshop were friendly and the cart guy gave me a clean cart with a cooler fully stocked with ice for our beer. The course itself (PEBBLE COURSE) was a little bit dry in places and it looks as if they were drying it out to re-​seed it. The GPS on the cart was nice & helpful. It’s a short course so we were done in about 3 hours. It’s laid out nicely but could use a few more directional signs. There are barely any trees so it’s not too hard to find your ball if you hit out of the narrow fairways. Gorgeous views from all around and it is an easy course to play. Would definitely return again!

On a mid-​December Monday afternoon, it was 70 degrees and sunny on the course. Pretty much perfect weather with very little wind. There also weren’t many people playing, so there was no one holding us up in front or chasing us from behind. Even on a Saturday afternoon, there weren’t many people playing either.
The short course is a nice warm up executive course that can be finished in less than three hours with a cart. We finished the long course in 4 – 4.5 hours. There is pretty much no shade on this course though, so I could see how it could get pretty hot on a summer day. The second day we played here, there was an unexpected downpour and we finally gave up playing on the 10^th hole. The clubhouse was nice enough to give us a rain check (no pun intended) for a full 18 holes that doesn’t expire for a year!
Both the short and long courses were pretty flat with just a few small scattered hills, large fairways, and large greens. There’s a lot of sand area that they call «wash». The course is decently maintained, and the greens are pretty large and fast. The carts all have built in GPS, so it’ll tell you exactly how many yards are remaining based on where your cart is located. However, I noticed that the yardage was not always accurate, and sometimes the actual distance would be 10 yards farther. This could make a pretty big difference since the greens are pretty tricky and fast. Additionally, the flags on the greens had no indication of whether they were in the front, center, or back of the green. Sometimes it was hard to gauge the location of the flag from far away. Other executive courses I’ve seen have an indication on the pole that would show whether the hole is in the front, center, or back.
The restaurant there only opens from 12−3pm for lunch, which is unfortunate for people who finish after that and would like a quick happy hour bite.

Clubs cleaned upon return to the club house. A great day of golf, wear a your hat cause there are no tree’s on this course. Have fun and bring a good attitude cause this course can get in your head but DON’T LET IT Super Champion’s!

What a deal. Tee off before 800am and the rates are about $ 39 with a cart per person, for 18 on the Boulder course. For a Palm Springs course that’s in the heart of the city, that’s a nice deal!
Boulder Course: In good condition this past weekend. I’ve never played here before so I don’t know of the horrors of the course before the «new management» took over. Greens were AWESOME but hard. They were nice to putt on but even the Pro V1 wouldn’t stop on the greens here. Fairways were in pretty good condition, FAST golf carts (my favorite) and a fast round considering we waited for the group ahead of us from time to time.
Cheaper golf rates means you’re paying for range balls. Nice practice facility… nice putting greens and you’re hitting off the grass at the range.
No golf cart girl for drinks and snacks (or maybe I was just on the course early in the morning)???
MINUS 1 STAR for PORT-​O-​POTTIES! WTF!!! You’re doing your business in the port-​o-​potties on the course! How sad is that!!!
No big trees to get in your way, a fairly easy course (Boulder Course) with bunkers and semi-​narrow fairways. Not a bad experience for under $ 40 dollars! The wind will kick up a lot, so add a club or even two and keep the ball low on your shots!
