Yogurt Shack

Second time here, enjoyed their sorbet. First time they informed n me of the half off discount in the hour before close. Recd the discount the first time, this visit not so much.

This is a really fun concept and the store is nice and clean. We’ve been here twice and the last time the lady working was really not that kind. She seemed very annoyed with us the moment we walked in. No smiling, no have a nice day, etc. Another reviewer mentioned she didn’t get stink eye when her kids spilled but that was not our experience. My daughter spilled a few chocolate chips and we got cautioned, got the stink eye and she was very unhappy to clean up. Maybe she was having a bad day but it kind of spoiled our after school surprise.

This place is okay. It’s average. It has average flavours and it’s moderately clean and well kept. I would visit again. To be honest, this place got an extra half star (I was thinking of giving it three-​and-​a-​half stars originally) because it’s right across the street from the Carlsbad library. So whenever I am done with what I have to do at the library I head over to here. It’s convenient. I would go again.

Very disappointed… I felt like I was being watched and judged by a woman my age… I felt guilty for asking for a taste cup… No hello no goodbye no thank you for the business… and to add insult to injury the yogurt was runny… Never again and I can only imagine how that woman treats kids/​teenagers. My kids are forbidden to go to the yogurt shack… From now on it is menchies, yogurt land, swirls or golden spoon for our family.

Yum. My daughter and I love to get frozen yogurt here. They seem to have a new flavor or 2 frequently but I mainly stick to the original tart. The toppings switch places between my visits so I can tell they clean and refresh them regularly, if not daily. My only suggestion is when it’s «to go» if you’d hand me the lid for my yogurt or move the stack closer to the customers reach. It’s awkward stretching my arm over your scale next to you to get my own lid… but other than that, great yogurt.

So while visiting the area we got a Frozen yogurt craving. So who do we turn to? Yup you said it Unilocal.
We arrived a few minutes prior to closing time. The young lady there was more than patient as we selected our flavors, then our toppings.
Yogurt was delicious as so where the toppings.

We used to visit this location quite frequently with the kids. It was fairly close and had a good product. Then other locations for cool treats started popping up even closer to home and on the way to and from our regular routine. Kinda got lost in the shuffle.
I just happened to be passing by the other day and thought about grabbing a cup of goodness. There was barely a customer that day as it was in between lunch rush and after school crowd. They had totally redone the place as a driver had mistaken the gas pedal for the brake and inadvertently drove into the store front. It isn’t a big store mind you so I’m pretty sure they ended up taking out quite a bit of the place. Owner didn’t say if anyone was injured, so I’m assuming all is A-​ok in that regard.
The new touches are nice. New color, new counter and new décor. The choices of frozen yogurt this day were awesome. I couldn’t choose, so I ended up with a trifecta of chocolate, vanilla and something else I couldn’t recall. Fruits and boba to top it off and I was set for the afternoon.
Owner/​manager was a nice guy and started a new frequent visitor card for me. I’m sure I had the old one somewhere in the pile at home.

I’ve been coming here for years and tonight was the most horrible visit I’ve had somewhere in a long time.
Yes I know it’s 5 min before closing but if this young man has any customer service training then I assume he was taught to treat the last customer of the day just like the first. In my case I was treated like a major inconvience and I’m not happy at all.
I walked in and said with a smile «I know it’s last min, do I still have time? «the worker responded with «if you hurry. «in an extremely rude tone. Excuse me? After I paid and was leaving he was following so close behind me (could almost step on my heels) with his keys jingling. slams the door and locks it… I suggest you re-​evaluate this persons customer service skills.

Their time on the phone and webpage does NOT match the times on the door. The flavors aren’t even that good and well of choices. And they’re usually always out of flavors.

There aren’t too many exciting flavors to choose from. The Italian tart, vanilla, and pineapple flavors are good. The orange ice flavor is a disaster.
The service is good and the price is fair. I would give 4 star if it wasn’t for the cheap foam cup they use for the frozen yogurt. A paper cup would be a lot better.

How can you complain about Yogurt Shack?! It’s pretty much a locally owned Yogurtland With decent prices, great toppings, solid taste and a great location… The building itself is a bit old, but meh, who really cares. Walk in, choose your flavors, pick your toppings and enjoy!

I am SO sad. My family of 5 has been coming to this place for years. Today we went in and the «lady» that was working the register was the rudest lady I’ve ever met. I was complimenting the new décor of the place and she wouldn’t even look at me. I said several different times that I liked the place and she wouldn’t acknowledge me. My 7 and 5 year old asked for sample cups. She didn’t reply so they grabbed a cup and went to get their sample. This is something they’ve done for years. My oldest accidentally didn’t put the lever all the way back down and yogurt spilled out. The worker ran over and in disgust slammed the lever back up rolling her eyes. I immediately told my girls we were leaving. I told the worker that my daughter is 7 and it was an accident. The worker meanly said «she wasted a ton of yogurt.» I tried to tell her (which she was interrupting the entire time) that we have been coming there for years. She didn’t care at all. I told her I would call and talk to the owner and she kept saying, «go ahead! Go ahead! His name is Brian! Go ahead!» Almost in a very confronting manner. I’ve NEVER seen anyone like her in a customer service position. She was rude and disgusting in front of my girls. My oldest daughter is crying in the car because that worker made her feel bad. I hope the owner takes care of the situation. Sadly, we will be heading to the Golden Spoon.

They have reopened since closing for a remodel and I have to say I like the new décor. Same awesome frozen Yogurt minus the lame posters. Best you will have so check it out.

Only reason for a single star is because of the customer service we received, yesterday we went to eat Chinese food at the place next door, as we walked out the restaurant we walked to the yogurt place and notice a painted sign on the glass that said happy hour, not able to see the whole sign we walked in and I asked the worker who was sitting on her computer is it happy hour, she rudely said NO with an attitude and said its the last hour of the day I said oh I am sorry I couldn’t read the whole sign. She rolls her eyes at us, so I ask her if she was tired and she looked at me like I was stupid lol. Our friend did purchase a yogurt I refused to spend my hard earned money on a place that has employees who hate their job and have no customer service skills. Be warned hopefully you don’t get this employee if you go there

Belated review… great flavors and fresh tasting… not overly sweet. The employees do a great job cleaning everything clean (pet peeve — dirty topping bar… not a problem here). Loyalty card is a bonus. Hoping they are up and running soon as my kids and I miss it!!! Good luck reopening, YS!

The best self serve you will ever have. All of the flavors, especially the candy ones, are so spot on it’s ridiculous. I didn’t understand how it can be even a little healthy when it tastes that good. Would go there every day if I could, just thinking about it makes my mouth water, can’t wait to have it again soon!

Everything you could ask for from a frozen yogurt place. Great flavors, fresh toppings, clean, and cheap! Also great rewards cards. Love getting my $ 3 off.
PS They do NOT charge $ 1 per topping. Not sure where the other reviewer got that idea. It’s priced per ounce like most places.

The Yoguuuuuuuuurt Shack is a little old place where we can GET TO-​GE-​THER!!! Yeah, I sing praises for this place, literally.
The frozen yogurt has a delightfully soft texture all its own. Somehow it’s different from froyo at other spots, and that’s the best way I can describe it. The Cookies n’ Cream flavor is a dream. If Oreos are your thing, you gotta get up in this Cookies n’ Cream business and give it a try.
Also, they didn’t just have regular old peanut butter, they had Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup! They don’t have just chocolate, they have Chocolate Dream. And they don’t just have caramel, they have Caramel Toffee Crunch Cake because why be boring when you can be MAGICALLY AWESOME!
Also, the service is excellent here. Super friendly like other reviewers have mentioned. This place gets five stars from me.

If you want cheap yogurt late night, this is the place for you.
This is a great place for you if
1. You are 20 or under
2. You don’t want to spend a fortune on dessert.
3. You want to go to a place where adults don’t hang out
4. You live in La Costa
5. It’s past 8 pm (Carlsbad late night)
6. You’re fine with a few flavors to choose from
What more can I say? This is a local spot for me and I go when I want a little sweetness but don’t want to drive far. But the selection of flavors is not special– the normal tart, chocolate, red velvet, cheesecake, etc. They offer the standard variety of toppings– candy bar crumbles, nuts, fresh fruit, sprinkles, etc.

What a cute little ‘mom & pop’ joint! Great selection of yogurt flavors and toppings that you can take-​out or eat-​in.
Super affordable… and they have all sorts of specials/​discounts for teachers and athletes in gear.
