Our goal is to create inspiring spaces for our clients that reflect their individuality and style. With an affinity for mixing old with new, Vanessa’s design style is influenced by her travels, bright colors and pairing modern touches with vintage, eclectic pieces.

The Studio Matsalla showroom encompasses a modern California & bohemian vibe, filled with unique items that are globally sourced and hand-​picked by Vanessa herself. From vintage kilim rugs to unique pillows to cutting boards and much more, every piece has a story and meaning. We hope you’ll pop in!

Business Owner

Vanessa Matsalla is the Principal Designer and Owner of Studio Matsalla, based in Carlsbad, California.

With nearly ten years of experience working in the industry and having assisted two designers based in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of her career, it was time to branch out on her own. After moving to San Diego from San Francisco in January 2013, Vanessa opened the doors of Studio Matsalla Design & Showroom based in downtown Carlsbad Village in January 2014
