Seaside Dog Ranch (formerly Blue Collar Dog Ranch) is an exclusive haven offering excellent pet care services in dog boarding and dog camp by the beach! Currently, we offer our individualized care for only small to medium sized dogs for our local residents only, we are unable to accommodate out of town visitors. Our dedication is to building long term relationships with our clients and their people whether they stay once a week or once a year!

Daycare services are offered M-​F, 7am-​6pm for the working professional in need of pet care support so you can bring home that bacon! Choose regular visits 2 – 5 weekdays.

Boarding services are offered for your mini-​weekend or long-​term travel abroad. You will feel completely at ease that your baby is well cared for in your absence. We require a two night minimum booking for boarding and advanced notice for all major holidays. Any boarding over 14 days requires payment in full in advance.

If you are interested in attaining services, please send an email from our contact page to receive a pet chart and book your meet and greet. All of our guests are required to be clean, healthy, socialized, house-​trained, altered, vaccinated and on flea prevention maintenance for their protection and ours. We will need at least one week prior to service to complete the introductory process. When making reservations always book early! We are unable to service larger dogs or any drop in/​one time or weekend daycare visits at this time.

A girl and her dog… Jeanie has been a lifelong animal lover and dog owner. Having had enormous success as the owner of one of the top pet care services in San Francisco, Blue Collar Pets from 1997 – 2003, she relocated back to the beach and her beloved Carlsbad.

Dog boarding by the beach… the experience providing pet care in the Bay Area and primarily canine knowledge and expertise; care, training, behavior, socialization, health and wellness has continued to grow and thrive. She now lives in Northwest Carlsbad near the Buena Vista Lagoon with her two French Bulldogs, 6.5 yr old Frankie and 4.5 yr old Lilith. They offer a ½ acre of fun in the sun to fabulous dogs and their people!

A year after my initial review of Blue Collar Dog Ranch and I still rate 5 stars! Our dog loves it more than ever. Jeannie has made him part of her family. He knows the exit off the freeway and starts to go crazy when he knows we are close to the Ranch. The texts, pictures and videos we get while our dog is there are just awesome. Blue Collar Dog Ranch is Ricky’s home away from home. We highly recommend BCDR. Dogs love it and so do us doggie parents!

My dog and I LOVE Blue Collar Dog Ranch!!! Jeanie treats my dog as if she were her own! She genuinely loves dogs and is so attentive. I receive photos and text messages throughout the day with updates. My dog comes home exhausted from all their walks and playtime. Couldn’t speak more highly of Blue Collar Dog Ranch!!! Highly recommended!

The Blue Collar Dog Ranch is the only place we trust with our much-​loved dog. Jeanie makes scheduling easy and texts us pictures of the happy pups while we are away. Our pup always comes home happy and exhausted from all the play.
What made me feel really great is the first time visit; she had us visit with her regulars to make sure the group gets along well. That ensures all the pups are well taken care of whether for day or boarding care. The property has a great large yard, she is stocked with dog beds for everyone, and they get so much exercise and cuddle time.
Thank you Jeanie for making traveling so much easier and worry free knowing the pup is so well cared for.

Jeanie is the best.
Our French bulldog loves her and her dogs so much we sometimes actually get jealous!!!
We have left our dog with her for up to 3 weeks while going on vacation overseas and even though we hate leaving him we felt so comfortable having him stay with Jeanie. She loves him and takes such good care of him, sending daily updates with pictures.
We also leave our Frenchie with her about once a week during the work week so he can play with the other dogs.
Can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate Jeanie and her services.

Jeanie takes such great care of our dog Ally! When we’ve taken her to other daycare places she fights going in, but with Jeanie she goes in with her tail wagging. I highly recommend Blue Collar for taking care of your four-​legged babies!!!

I can’t actually speak for the services here — which I assume are good given the other reviews — but I emailed Jeanie and left three voicemails in the course of two weeks and never heard back from her.
So, I can safely say that I’d never want to leave my dog with someone who’s so hard to get a hold of. I’ll give Blue Collar the benefit of the doubt and assume that maybe something came up — but a quick call back or email to at least acknowledege it would’ve done wonders.

We recently moved to Carlsbad and cannot praise Blue Collar Dog Ranch enough! Jeanine is personable and cares for our dogs as if they were her own. I despise traditional boarders that leave your dog in a kennel all day and rarely allow walks or playtime… Jeanie is the best! She even sends pictures while we are away! Highly recommend this place for owners of small dogs!

We are so happy to have found Blue Collar Dog Ranch! Jeanie is such a sweetheart and I know our King Charles Cavalier had a blast while staying there. Our little pup is our baby and I was a little nervous leaving her with someone we didn’t know. Jeanie is so loving and immediately made me (and our dog!) feel very comfortable at her home. I was so nervous leaving my babies while relocating to North County. With temporary hotels, moving trucks and unpacking, I knew my dogs would be confused, ignored and bored. Boarding was the only option. Blue Collar/​Jeanie was amazing! She was so responsive and thorough before we arrived and after dropping off the doggies. She provided pictures and updates almost everyday! My dogs came home happy and exhausted — a good sign they were well-​adjusted and had a good time! I would highly recommend Blue Collar to anyone who needs doggie daycare or boarding — amazing personal dog care! The best!

Wow!!! This place is doggie paradise! Jeanie is so awesome with our Frenchie and all the dogs she looks after. We were looking for the perfect place for so long and never felt at ease leaving our dog. Now that we have found Blue Collar we know she is in the best hands and is loving her time there. The best place for our dog! So much room to run and play, and Jeanie treats all the dogs as her own. The last thing I wanted was to have my dog crated in a sterile environment. The Blue Collar Dog Ranch is the perfect home-​care situation if you want your dog really loved and cared for while you are away. We are so fortunate to have found Jeanie and her wonderful caring service.
We did an introduction to make sure our dog was suited to the situation. Great way to get to know Jeanie and what to expect. Walks, feeding, play time and nap time are all on the agenda.

I love Jeanie, but more important is that Ruby and Oliver love Jeanie! Her daily walks with them, her texting adorable photos and clever daily updates to me and her constant attention was much appreciated! I like the fact that Jeanie is super selective when it comes to her decision to care for a dog… She goes out of her way to make sure it’s a «good fit» for everyone. I would highly recommend Jeanie — its obvious she loves dogs and enjoys making them feel right at home. A++++

What a great experience! We have a 1.5 year old basset hound that needs plenty of love and attention, and Jeanie surpassed all expectations. Max boarded at a few other locations in the past, and each time we picked him up he was sad and ready to go. While he was excited to see us upon our return, he certainly did not want to leave The Blue Collar Dog Ranch.
After an initial play-​date with Frankie, Max was accepted on short notice for 2.5 weeks while my wife and I were on our honeymoon. He loved his daily trips to the beach, an open yard to run and more importantly, the care and love from Jeanie. She updated us daily with frequent photos, and we appreciated the photos of him opening his presents on Christmas day.
Max and Frankie have regular playdates now, and every time we pass through the nieghborhood in the car his ears perk up and he is on the lookout for his buddy.
Many thanks to Jeanie, we truly appreciate you taking care of our little guy.

We went to Jeanie having high expectations based on her reviews and we were NOT disappointed. In fact, we were even more impressed. She had our Labradoodle for 2 nights and 3 days and texted us with pictures and updates throughout the weekend, which was a nice personal touch. Our dog went on multiple walks and got a ton of play time and attention. She followed our training rules (he slept in his crate, no getting on the furniture, etc) and took great care of him. We also like that she doesn’t take more than 3 or 4 dogs at a time so your dog will get lots of attention and care.
When we picked him up he was super happy and extremely exhausted… we are very grateful for finding her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for daycare or boarding.

I am SO FORTUNATE that I found Jeanie. She is the BEST option anyone leaving their furry friend to be pet-​sat while they’re away. She took care of my little french bulldog buddy for 10 days while I was three states away and the most nervous I got the entire time was when I was driving to pick him up after and was worried that he wouldn’t want to come home from puppy camp!!!
She provided regular updates-​plenty of texts to my phone of the pup looking SO HAPPY. She was fine providing references, giving us a tour of the place, letting us setup a play date to ensure our dogs would get along, etc. She asked for up-​to-​date vet bill (so you can be sure all other dogs there are up to date as well) and has references to call to help calm any remaining worries.
It is as if I asked a close friend to watch my dog– but a close friend that loves dogs and really knows what she is doing-​so probably actually better than most of my friends!
She treated my dog as if he was her own, and of course, not without mentioning– SHE’S SO AFFORDABLE!
Don’t take your dog to a kennel/​dog boarding, don’t dump your dog on some relatives, take him/​her here. Its like dog summer camp by the beach!
