John Stevenson Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

Just had AC repairs with Stevenson Plumbing and their customer service was excellent. Pedro was polite, informative and did a great job. He even had a treat for my dog. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing AC or heating repair work.

My water heater stopped working a few months back so I called John Stevenson. They came out and explained the problem to me and gave me two options. Replace a part or get a new water heater. Replacing the part should have kept it going for at least a year and was a lot less money. A few months later and it completely stopped again.
Went with a different company this time and first thing he says is that the water heater is still under warranty. Funny because the John Stevenson employee said it was no longer under warranty. Even if I had to get a new water heater the new company would have been half the price of a new water heater with John Stevenson.
UPDATE — I’ve got to give John Stevenson credit. They read my review, searched for my contact information in their database and reached out to me within 48 hours. They informed me that the person who came out was new to the company and was more familiar with new construction which is why he missed the warranty. The offered to refund me the cost of the parts and today I received my refund. That really impressed me about them. Admitting fault and making things right.

Pedro and his team did an amazing job installing central air conditioning for us at our home. He always showed up on time and was friendly and professional. The air conditioning works great! I highly recommend John Stevenson Plumbing and Pedro.

Today, I had 2 people come out to my house. Pedro was courteous and experienced. He reviewed hvac (heating and air) for an annual review. Home is 10 years old. He made recommendations and showed me how everything was performing and how everything should perform. He was knowledgeable, honest and I felt like I was in great hands. He made some repairs to prolong the life of air conditioner and improve electric bill. He also advised of builder defect that I should have reviewed. Thanks Pedro!
Travis came by to complete my annual plumbing home review. He’s very professional and knows his stuff. He’s the guy that you can trust and can depend on. He’s even helped me out on Thanksgiving when our disposal decided to take a fiesta. Highly recommend him!

Stevenson/​Travis, fixed a leak and exposed a stoppage problem that I was able to remedy. The best part of hiring this company is they COMMUNICATED! As a consumer, I know there will be delays, all I want is to be notified, which Stevenson understands and did! Thank you!

I’ve had several experiences now with John Stevenson Plumbing, ranging from maintenance to A/​C repair to general plumbing. Their craftsmanship is exceptional, their service is great, and their team is professional and courteous; but that’s not the reason I write this review — It’s their integrity that’s been most impressive to me. I recently had a misunderstanding after a particular service was performed, and the manner in which the General Manager handled it will forever keep me a customer of theirs. In the world we live in today, it’s rare to acknowledge superior service, let alone the honesty and authenticity that ultimately defines a brand. John Stevenson gets an A+ for keeping their world.

I had a leaky shower valve, this plumber charged me $ 402 to change the cartridge. This was on a weekday, non emergency basis about 3 months ago. I asked for an itemized receipt but was told by the plumber that his office would email it to me, but all they sent was a credit card receipt. I had to pay it since the repair was completed, just beware and get an estimate first before they take advantage of you.
This month I need a plumber to install a valve in another bathroom during a tub to shower remodel, I called this plumbers office and gave a very accurate description of what the job entailed and they were very reluctant to tell me a price range guesstimate, but when I I pressed was told $ 1000 to $ 1500 (yikes!).
yesterday I had another local plumber install a rough in valve and move the shower up about 10 inches, his charge was less than $ 300– quite a price difference!

What can I say about Tony (or Anthony) other than AMAZING. What a pleasure to deal with.
Long story short, before I knew about John Stevenson, I had water heater issues and understood the signs of what was to come. I needed a new water heater before it blew up and created a disaster.
Tony came out and went above and beyond in his service. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he explained the installation to me so I knew what was going on. More than that, he was one of the kindest people I’ve ever dealt with. So personable and genuine. Just an absolute pleasure.
Add in the perfect water heater installation (along with a few other things he was kind enough to do) and you couldn’t ask for better service.
My job was certainly not easy nor conventional (thanks to objects like built-​in cabinets blocking access to the water heater) but Tony put me at ease and turned a difficult situation into a breeze. Plus, he did all of it on his birthday!
There’s no denying that Tony is an absolute gem and he’s a fantastic representation of John Stevenson Plumbing.

Katie, your servicemen had the benefit of a metal cartridge puller. Period.
I phoned your shop a few days after and asked what the flat rate for this repair is.
The lady I spoke to said they would have to send a serviceman out, $ 89 charge.
If it is a flat $ 251/​cartridge, why could she not tell me that?
Why would I have to pay $ 89 to find out the price?
And, Katie, it did NOT include parts, I had them on hand.
And yes, I did want to speak to a customer service manager.
That is why I called you back.
Instead I get «our flat rate is not a plumbing rate» (obviously: who would hire a $ 502/​hour plumber???) gibberish over the internet.
And, further, please do not have anyone call me back.
There is no explanation (well, actually there is, see the other 1 star reviews) for this poor running of a business and poor customer service.

So you should be easily able to credit my credit card for at LEAST the cost of the valves: $ 80.
I don’t know where you learned your customer service plumbing skills, but a simple
removal of a shower cartridge is not a «challenge», it just requires a bigger better puller than I owned at the time.

JT came out to replace the water valves behind our washer/​dryer combo. Very tight laundry room, JT initially said he wouldn’t be able to fix it today because he would need another guy to come help him get behind the machine. Disappointed but understandable. JT left, but about 10 minutes later I hear a knock on my door… It was JT! He said they were able to get a hold of someone to come out and assist and they would take care of it today! 20 minutes later JT was literally climbing over the machine to get this repair done. The man who came to help (believe his name was Travis) saved the day. Exceptional, above and beyond service from JT and the whole John Stevenson team. Thank you!

J Stevenson plumbing installed the HVAC in a house that I purchased. During home inspection, it was discovered the heater had scorch marks all over the paint above the burners as if they were improperly installed and a small fire had resulted. See the photo. I called 3 TIMES over the week of 9÷6÷15 to 9÷14÷15 to ask that a technician come out to take a look, and each time the polite dispatcher paged a technician to call me back. Each time, the technician called and told me that since it wasn’t an emergency, they would have someone at the office call me «in the morning» to schedule an appointment. I NEVER received any calls back in the morning to schedule an appointment. The last straw was when I explained the situation to «Mike» the technician who was paged during my third attempt to get a appointment, and his response was «I can’t do anything about that.»
Well, Mike, I can do something about it. I can give you a one star rating on Unilocal and call a different company.

Super big bummer… used this company for a while now and got stood up last night… no call or anything. Even though they charge A LOT we have been coming back for years. Lesson learned… now they have no one to come out today when they should have been here last night!

I would never recommend using this company. I was charged $ 466 for replacing a dual A/​C capacitor which took the tech 20 minutes. The bill states $ 99 for AC Diagnostic and $ 367 for Capacitor (which cost approx. $ 20-​$ 30). When I called the office to complain about the price I was told that this is their prices.

Mark arrived on time and was very knowledgable. Quoted me a price and was done within an hour (replacing a toilet). He was also VERY clean and took the old toilet and the box with him!
I am very pleased with John Stevenson Plumbing and will use them again in the future.
