Carlsbad Chocolate Bar

This place looked like a nice little one to stop into for a warm-​up in the winter. It is really fun as it has a good selection of chocolates and wine. I ordered the Spanish hot chocolate which is hot chocolate with a little kick in it.
I’m not sure but I think the barista was new. She didn’t ask me if I wanted a mug for here and just started writing on a to-​go mug. I asked her for a real mug after she started writing so she didn’t like it. The hot chocolate is pretty good. Although it’s made with powder it is very rich.
Full mainly of tourists. It’s ok but I wouldn’t come back. There are to many other places to explore here!

Went for coffee while walking the dog around the village. Coffee was sub-​par and the 2 girls working were unhelpful and had attitudes. I live 2 blocks from here but not coming back. I’ll go back to Vinaka.

I did some Christmas shopping here and I am VERY happy with the results! My gifts were the hit of the Christmas morning gift time; I have three daughters and a wife that were very pleased. I just got this email from my eldest daughter:
«DAD THESE CHOCOLATES ARE SOOOOOO GOOD THEYRE THE BEST IVE EVER HAD forget stupid Godiva chocolates, this takes the cake. I can’t stop eating them. I would like to request these chocolates for the rest of my life.
You got me the Irish cream fudge, and I love it. I traded one for the dark chocolate salted Carmel that Karis got, and that one is so good also!!!

The girls who work there were very helpful and gave me some excellent advice about the different selections. Made my Christmas shopping very easy and now I know where to go for birthdays! Very well done, Chocolate Bar!

Awful customer service. The lady at the counter was rude and condescending.
We felt rushed and untrusted. The same lady followed us around pretending to clean up. I thought they were about to close because they kept asking us rudely if they could help – like they wanted us out of there, (we were there at 4:27pm) so I rushed, come to find out they close at 10:00pm!!!
Then the girl behind the cash register was supposed to give me $ 4.06 change back. She gave me $ 2.06 change back. Ugh! Will never return!!!

The shop is cute and quaint with chocolates (of course!), wines, lattes and coffees. I got a box of truffles for my boss here and left with a caramel latte for myself. Everything looked delicious and the lady who helped me was very nice and patient with me because I didn’t know what flavors to get. She was very helpful.
The truffles were a hit, I didn’t have any but that’s what i was told. I drove away with the caramel latte, which was delicious so it’s a place I think I’ll come back to check out again. This time, the truffles and chocolates will be for me!

This review is about the service only. because as usual the Chocolate is amazing. This was yesterday 10÷09÷15. There were two girls working. The one who helped us was rude, very short and stern with us. She definitely seemed to the one in charge of the other one as well… I was at the counter asking for 1 of this, 2 of that… and after each request her response was… «(exhales deep breath)…is that it? Neither made eye contact, nor smiled as I observed their behaviour with some of the other clientele (just to make sure her beef wasn’t with me.) She was definitely bothered to be there helping others purchase chocolate… so we cut our visit short.

Ok if you’ve never been here you must go by. They are amazing. Wonderful chocolates including fudge! Great drinks and a cute store in the back. Their seating is open air and it’s a great place to sit with your dog! A must see im Carlsbad!

While walking around Carlsbad, came across this cute little coffee shop. Let’s check it out & grab some coffee. They have a couple of counters with custom chocolates & candies — YUM! Another case has some beautiful pastries. Need to come back & try some. There’s a large selection of wines on another wall. They also have a selection of unique gift ideas. We had two iced mocha coffees, very good. Will be making many more returns. Fun place.

Love to stop in this nice shop for some yummy treats when we are in town. Everyone always finds something tasty to try.

Came in to get some chocolate… Girl behind counter was just starring at the back of the counter. No hello, or can I help you? Went to spot where the sign said ORDEr here… placed our order to go… some chocolate and some cake selections. Was asked if I wanted a bag… for a large to go order… yes a bag is good. Got no receipt. Missing an item. Asked where it was and the server said I didn’t ring that up. Then she went and grabbed a bag that was on the counter and said… Here you go.
Got back to the house to find it was not what we ordered.
Girls’ deemed like they didn’t want to be there… cake selections where very OK. Chocolate to be determined.

Carlsbad Chocolate Bar is solidly fixed at the position of being moderately good. There is a wide array of chocolate products, pastries and beverages. Some of these truffles are seventy-​five cents, though others near three dollars. Plenty of tables are to be found along with wonderful employees.
I’ve been here twice. The chocolate graham cracker which I had a while ago launched decadent memories in my mind. This time the chocolate was better than average, but certainly not mind blowing. It was at a dollar a piece for a carmel chocolate truffle, but any higher would have created serious doubts for me about this store.
Carlsbad Chocolate Bar is worth a look if you are in the village.

This place has a wide variety of chocolates, candies, wines, and a few random souvenir items. I’m a sucker for chocolate truffles, and the ones here were soooo good. I think Sea Salt Carmel was one of my favorites. They are a little pricey, but good chocolate tends to be. I came back a second time to get some chocolates for Mother’s Day, and my mom was just as pleased as I was with the quality of he chocolates.

Yum! We were out just looking around in downtown. We came across this lil shoppe and of course I had to go in. We had some coffee and tried out some different variety’s of chocolate. It was all yumminess! I will definitely come by again when im out here. It would also be a good place to hangout and meet up with friends on the go when in town :)

First time coming here so I got some of the sea salt and caramel chocolate, they where good but what I really wanted was the carrot cake! They had one slice left so I got it I also got a iced white chocolate mocha.
The drink was less than mediocre… I took two sips and was done.
Got home and was excited to try the cake… unfortunately it was nasty… the cream cheese frosting was rubbery and the cake was dry… it tasted like it was 2 days old. I spit out the cake because it was so nasty…
Highly disappointed. I gave one star only because the chocolate I had was good and I can’t give zero stars.

Stopped in here for a quick chocolate treat for my 14 year old son. They had a great selection of chocolate covered items (cookies, marshmallows, pretzels), truffles, and desserts. The one thing we wanted though that they didn’t seem to have was fudge.
There were lots of gifts, coffee, and other knick knacks.
We took our chocolate to go, but I could see how this would be a cute place to eat dessert while having some coffee.

The White Chocolate Snowflake Cake was dry and tasted chalky. It was probably at least a day old or something. It might have tasted amazing when it was freshly made, but my friend and I were so bummed and didn’t even finish the slice we got to share.
I highly recommend Swirlicious, the frozen yogurt shop next door, for a yummy dessert fix!

Willy Wonka aint got nothing on the Chocolate Bar haha! You are going to for sure feel like a big kid in a chocolate store! One chocolate for you… one chocolate for me! There is a flavor for everyone to explore!
You have to get your hands on one of the gigantic Peanut Butter Cups! Peanut Butter goodness oozes out of each side! Truffles you say??? Oh I will buy a dozen if I may! I love how during Valentines you can place together your own personalized heart shaped box with chocolates.
When I left I skipped along the sidewalk singing «I got a l.o.v.e.l…y box of chocolates dididily lol!!! May all your chocolate dreams come true in here!

This review is strictly for the place. I didn’t drink or eat anything here because the tea selection was HORRIBLE! I didn’t get chocolate either because it seemed like the prices were too high.
The place is cute, a little cluttered. It had a lot of stuff on the floor and not enough table for people to sit at. They did have a bathroom and their Arrowhead water was $ 1.50. Yuck.
I probably wouldn’t come here again, unless I was with my girlfriends.

Quaint little shop with homemade CHOCOLATES! This place makes their chocolate really rich – it’s not just ordinary chocolate. Even a small amount is packed with luscious chocolatey flavor!
My favorite are the dark chocolate peanut butter cups. They use all natural peanut butter, but these taste way better than Justin’s.

A small group of us stopped in here after dinner last night and were super excited to try this place out. I mean, how can you not get giddy with the promise of chocolate?
We were greeted right away by two very nice clerks and they patiently helped us select various chocolates from the case. We were excited to enjoy a few of them before we all parted ways for the night so we sat at one of the café tables near the open windows and shared our goodies. I spent $ 17.50 on chocolate (maybe some cinnamon bears) and were just about to dig in when an older man in a red shirt (seemed like the owner maybe) asked if he could squeeze by to close the windows. Before I could get up and step away from my chair, he very rudely said, «actually, we are closed» and my chair was removed and pulled away from the table making it obvious he did not want me to sit back down. My friends still sitting at the table. I looked at my watch and it was 10:02pm — which was a few minutes past closing.
I looked around and there were two other tables with 4 and 6 people at each and none of them were getting their chairs pulled out from under them or asked to leave. Without even finishing one small piece of chocolate, we were rushed out of there.
I realize they have to close up but that is just not the way to do it. If you’re willing to take customers money but not make them feel welcome by rushing them out after a few short minutes later, you don’t know a thing about customer service. I LOVE to support small businesses but after our treatment last night, we won’t be coming back. And if that was the owner, SHAME ON YOU! …jerk!
I’ll enjoy these mediocre treats for now but it’s $ 17.50 I wish I spent elsewhere.
